I found them on Zocdoc and they had good availability. Dr. Donahue was very professional, funny, and got to the bottom of things quickly. I felt so much better after his assessment and treatment. I also really appreciate that after you see the chiropractor, they bring you to one of the physical therapists to get stretches and exercises to help you deal with (and hopefully prevent) the issues from coming back. Katherine at the front desk is perhaps the friendliest office manager I've ever met. She always has a big smile and is so empathetic to every patient. She's quick to respond on things and helpful at working with insurance and scheduling appointments. Very happy to have found such a great provider in Chicago! Despite having an appointment…read morewith the DPT, scheduled weeks in advance, there was neither time or hands-on manipulation with the Dr. during a one hour session. I've been at multiple providers over the past 20 years in several states, and this is the only practice where I've had the experience of being shifted to an assistant for a full appointment, not 1/2 hour with a DPT and then a 1/2 hour with a PTA or assistant to do exercises. If that's fine with you, both Mary Kate (DPT & owner) and Stella (PTA) were both excellent when I did have time with them. They charge you the same fee no matter the level of education and experience. I pay OOP and for $140/hr, I expect to spend half the appointment with a fully trained Dr. of physical therapy, not a full hour with an assistant who has 2 years educaction or less. Out of 4 appointments, intake was the only "normal" appointment of 1/2 DPT and 1/2 exercise coach. It's just not the level of therapy I've previously received, and I went elsewhere to finish my recovery program The clinic's response to my concerns was "Our cash rate is based on the type and length of skilled physical therapy service provided, rather than which licensed clinician performs it. This is standard practice, since both PTs and PTAs deliver the same level of skilled care under the therapist's direction". They do not! DPT's, PTA's and non licensed exercise assistants are not equal in their coursework or skills!

I would not be honest if I said I was completely pain free. I sometimes get flare ups and the vast majority of the time the home exercises help relieve the pain. Imelda is a McKenzie Method of Mechanical Diagnosis and Therapy clinician. I am grateful for her proficiency in this method because it definitely helps my spine conditions. I recently started physical therapy again. The orthopedic specialist I see told me to work with Imelda again for my spine, lower back pain and nerve pain. PT is helping me quite a bit. I was given new exercises to add to my home routine that are helping me improve and strengthen. From the time I walk through the front door to when I leave, I do not feel rushed. My questions are answered. Imelda confirms that I understand my protocol and instructions. The facility is wonderful and has quite a bit of equipment and classes offered if needed. When I see him for an ailment, typically felt when weightlifting, he immediately has an idea of the root cause (it helps that he's a powerlifter) and quickly validates in a few minutes. He adjusts and provides the mobility exercises to do on my own and within a few weeks, I'm feeling great! I only see him a few times per year, when something is off. I go for a few weeks (and do my mobility work on my own) and we're done. He doesn't make me visit him weekly, etc. which I found with others. No weekly adjustments, at least for me. He tells me what to work on at home for mobility. Just come in whenever something is off and he'll fix you. On top of his knowledge and professionalism, he makes each session enjoyable and engaging through humor, compassion and conviction. Paul is committed to helping me get better quickly and I can feel that when working with him. I couldn't recommend anyone better.

(he implied I should be dead by now, and because I wasn't, some of my issues weren't worth looking into ) -flat out denied that I had a condition which TWO rheumatologists verified. - repeatedly said contradictory things between appointments - avoided answering my questions like it was an Olympic sport. - was incredibly condescending to the point of telling me what I was feeling -touched me without warning me, I'm used to this, but other patients might be upset by it. - had someone call to schedule an MRI. Twice the person who called said they'd call me back after selecting a location and nothing came of it. That's not counting my three other attempts where I didn't even get a call. - had me schedule an injection and a) didn't tell me what the injection was (I assumed based on my own knowledge, but this could be a big issue for others) b) failed to tell me it was done under sedation, meaning I'd have to bring someone with me. (I only found out when I called the surgery center to ask why I got sedation instructions)

But yet there was 80 percent Latino Hispanic patients to take care of there we were able to speak our Spanish language. Got to a point where I left. Uppermanagement is ALL women with no full experience on how to handle situations like this. I worked as a medical assistant with IPM. How can this providers continue to see Hispanic pts and being such a racist and manipulate entire office againt me... Dr xia is a great doctor but needs to look out for his staff too. ​
