Dr. Lisa Gold is fantastic!!! I had been having arm, hand and shoulder problems for about a year. The pain was beginning to affect my work and sleep. After reading some very positive reviews about Lisa I decided to schedule a massage with her to see if she could help. After 90 minutes on her massage table it was clear that Lisa would be the person to help me. I then decided to schedule a Naprapathic appointment for Lisa to perform a thorough evaluation of my posture and determine the root cause for my issues. Lisa recommended determining if my mattress and work space could be contributing to my problems. So, I took pictures at my desk and had an ergonomic expert come out to evaluate my setup. With just a few simple changes, my issues are slowly improving. At my third visit Lisa adjusted my shoulder and performed a technique with an essential oil and scraping tool to bring circulation to my upper back and shoulders for the tissue to heal. Dr. Gold is a very caring and experienced practitioner. Explains things in layman's terms. I had pretty serious numbness/tingling which I was experiencing in my fingers which did get better to the point I was able to work again on a regular basis as a court reporter. Her massage therapist, Connie Love, is the best. I've had at least 150 massages, always thought I need the deep tissue massage, which left me sore, achy and tired for a couple days afterwards, and the very first massage I ever got from Connie made a huge difference. I emailed Dr. Gold briefly describing my situation, asking for nutritional help after I've struggled to manage my diet on my own prior to having no insurance. She called me, impatiently asking what I wanted, was dismissive and unwilling to offer any help, telling me there was nothing she could do for me after I asked for her help in coming up with a diet plan to resolve my health issues. Seeing as she offers nutritional services, I don't see how this could be possible. I ended up going to Chicago Institute of Natural Health instead, and so far, they have been much more helpful. read more

How is it that Gold Naprapathic has 9 FILTERED reviews! HogWash!!! I went to Dr. Gold for a massage about a week or so ago. I originally thought that I would be seeing a massage therapist, but she ended up working on me herself. I was a little concerned before I went in that she would be doing my massage, after all, how good can a doc be at massages? Within 2 minutes of laying on her table I was in massage hog heaven, if there is such a thing. It turns out that prior to Dr Gold becoming a Naprapath, she was a massage therapist. I asked for a certain kind of massage and she did it better than anyone I have ever been to (and I have been getting massages once a month for years and have been all over the city). She really cares about the patient as a whole. I have never reviewed a massage therapist before b/c I find most of them just competent. Go Go Go if you want to melt and your body to feel awesome afterwards!!!! Ps. Just for honesty sake, don't think of this as a spa. It's not. It's a simple room, but the lights are down low, the candles are on and she plays the music softly, but it doesn't matter because when you leave and the following days your body will love you! read more

I recently took my 2.5 year old son to see Dr. Lisa Gold to help him with a very tight and sore neck- and I could not believe how quickly she was able to help him feel better, as well as how knowledgeable she is at her work- amazing! I had tried previously myself to massage him, but he wouldn't let me touch his neck- the poor little guy was walking with his shoulder raised and his head tilted because it hurt to stand normally. I wanted to get him help, but thought a chiropractor sounded too harsh and was nervous about the quick sudden movements. I was so happy to find that Lisa's practice could achieve the same results with more gentle movements. I was completely amazed as my son let her work on him for 30 minutes! The next day he was walking normally and was clearly much more comfortable. She even showed me some simple stretches and massages I could try myself if I was comfortable to keep the tight muscles (torticollis) at bay. Nine months ago I had abdominal surgery and 3 weeks out I had significant pain and discomfort in my back. The surgery forced me to lay down most of the day which limited my mobility. When I visited Dr. Gold for massage therapy that first month the tension, tightness and strain in my back and shoulders had been significantly reduced. The sessions were instrumental in my recovery and being able to go back to work weeks after. On the advice of two VERY picky friends, who frankly I never would have expected to recommend anybody close to a natural of holistic practitioner, I called Dr. Gold. I was visiting from NYC and suffering from pretty severe and worrisome lower back pain. Not only pain in the standard back areas we all experience now and then, but also in the hip and groin area, where I'd never before felt pain. Sleeping was nearly-impossible without a ton of pills knocking me out, and the pain persisted throughout the day, couldn't really do anything, not even walk around. Dr. Gold was able to fit me in within a day or two of my call and was extremely thorough in listening to my symptoms and giving me an initial exam which confirmed the diagnosis that the symptoms suggested. Then came.....the treatment. Listen, I wouldn't believe it either if I read it but after only one treatment -- which was extensive (close to 90 minutes), my pain went away. Not overnight, but in the three days between my two appointments, and after I followed her advice during those days. I had been convinced that either this pain was something that was going to take months to relieve, or even worse that I would have to live with or have surgery to relieve. But two treatments and while I'm not going to say I don't feel a certain tenderness down there now and then, there is no pain! Dr. Gold did a good number of treatments on me in that first appointment and some others in the follow-up, and it's really not possible to know exactly what did the trick, but the trick was done. She is passionate about her practice and while I just tended to joke around and be a little cynical during our appointments, .I soon realized that if I LISTENED to her, I would learn a lot. She tells you what she's doing and why, and how it helps, which isn't ever the case with a conventional doctor. She is at least as interested in telling you what you can to do help yourself OUT OF HER OFFICE as what she can do for your pain while you are in her office. She knows her stuff, that's pretty clear the first time you meet her. If I wasn't leaving town right away I would go for a few more follow-up treatments, that's for sure. I can't promise you that you will enjoy the 'miracle' I experienced, but I wouldn't bet against her. And her office is away from the trafficky areas of Chicago and she offers free parking, so you can't beat that. Just be sure to Google "street view" her building, or you'll sail past it the way I did the first time. All in all, it's 5 stars and more for Dr. Gold.
