We love Healthy Spot for so many reasons! I don't usually leave reviews, but given what a special place this is, I feel compelled to. We first walked into Healthy Spot a few days before adopting our pup, Maya, during June 2020. Nancy was so helpful! When we returned, pup in hand, Nancy remembered her name and Maya immediately fell in love with her. Since then, we have purchased the vast majority of Maya's treats, clothing, and toys from Healthy Spot. We also always stop by on Holidays to celebrate! Quality is fabulous, the couple returns we've made were so easy, and we love that we can trust the Healthy Spot team's recommendations. When it comes to grooming, I did a LOT of research, as most dog-moms do. We decided Healthy Spot was, again, our best option. Maya got her very first haircut at Healthy Spot with Micki and continues to go back roughly every six weeks. This says a lot because Maya is not a huge fan of baths yet, every time we are on Colorado, Maya insists on visiting! She always leaves her spa days literally smiling and looking as cute as a button. Today I'm puppy sitting my son's new pup (Taco) and I had no clue where to get him some good quality puppy food. Well Yelp saves the day again. I found Healthy Spot. I walked in with this little cutie and they fell in love with him. The clerk greeted me and Taco warmly and showered him with love and gave me great advice on the best puppy food for him. My dog is OBSESSED with this place and the staff. They treat him so well here. We do most of our retail shopping here and they always go above and beyond. I mean, the fact that my pup can put his paws on their shoulders and lick the hell out of their faces tells me they really do care about animals. They have so many amazing items that you won't find at other stores too. My bank account may not love it, but I sure do. I can't leave the store without spending an obscene amount of money but it's all worth it. PS. the duck breasts strips from mind body bowl are gonna be your pup's next favorite treat. I want to note that I did not receive a service here or shopped, my experience is just speaking over the phone with staff about my dog's grooming appointment that I ultimately cancelled. I scheduled a grooming appointment online for my dog, Mila for a Friday at 11am. I called about a week in advance to move the appointment to later time due to a last minute work meeting that was scheduled for me. My experience with the staff member was very negative. She was very rude, short and seemed annoyed. But she was able to move it to a later time, great. They called me the day before to ask me if could move my appointment to 11am since they got a cancellation (which was me lol) and I said I couldn't and her tone changed to being rude and annoyed once again. After some thought, I called back a few minutes later to cancel it because I didn't feel comfortable anymore taking my dog where the staff are so rude. Again, I called to cancel and she was very short and seemed very annoyed. I'm not sure if this was all the same staff member or different people but my experience with their phone customer service was very negative. So although I never received a service, maybe they're great in person, I don't know, but my experience over the phone even before I got a service was just awful. Obviously not bringing my dog to get a service here. read more

My dog is a pandemic puppy, she is skittish around people she doesn't know and she really does not like other dogs. Healthy Spot takes excellent care of Rosie and they are sweet and understanding about how skittish she is. Staff is patient and sometimes they just pick her up and carry her. She's an English bulldog! She also hates water. If the groomers here are over her they never show it. She comes home clean with smooth nails and fresh breath and she never has a period of getting over her trip to the groomer. Walked in as we were out of dog food and we typically order online but was not going to be receiving the shipment in time, so being the typical shopper that I am, what's better way to also scope out the neighborhood than to walk around. We go to a different location for Healthy Spot and was just so so excited that this location opened up in Pasadena! The type of food we get is Ziwi Peak- awesome awesome brand and have been using it for over 11 years. It is pricey and other places charge too too much for it and healthy spot has been a go to since they're competitive with Amazon but not crazy like the other places that charge double for the food. Everywhere else online shopping has been more convenient and competitive but this place is so nice to visit - so welcoming and the customer seer I've is excellent. We simply came in for dog food and left with more treats for our pooch because they had specials and free treats etc. They are cashless so plastic is key! I called exactly at 10Am to inquire on a particular product which the young lady stated that the store was out of. I asked if she can check another location. Maybe West LA. So, I was asked to be put on hold and I said sure. 20minutes later I'm still on hold. Would it take too much time just to get back on the phone and say that you are unable to locate or cannot research at this time frame instead of keeping a customer on HOLD. I called WLA last month and was acknowledged within minutes and directed to the Hollywood location. This is the same location I purchased a useless puzzle toy for my dog and did not receive a receipt nor was it on my account. I am a monthly subscriber for my miniature schnauzer dog food. Hello! We found a groomer we love. Recently went and our 11 month old Aussie had his fur cut and they did all the grooming too. So the cut was amazing and took pounds off! Definitely bringing him back here to the groomer named Omar. Our baby girl had her nails filed for the first time also cleaning not cut , the groomer did an amazing job too, I'll update with the groomers name. Our 3 month old baby girl is not easy to groom so I'm sure it was quite a task! The Pasadena store itself is wonderful, clean and the floor staff have always been gracious but I go to the Healthy Spot mainly for grooming needs. Sadly with Jae gone, I do not think I will be returning. He has been my only groomer and without him there, I was appalled that my fur-baby was so anxious she hurt her paw raw and injured her freshly cut nail to make it bleed. One of the groomers, stated my dog was a "wild banshee" and my pup was so frightened that I hope this doesn't create a core memory. Too bad, we had a good run with them. read more
