Unfortunately this place has changed and will not be our home for boarding and daycare anymore, although we used to feel very safe and comfortable leaving our dog here. I booked boarding for this weekend and I was surprised that they ask us to do another temperament test since it's not as if it had been so long since the last time we were here that our dog is in a new stage of life such as being a senior dog, and although they continued to stress on the phone and during the incident today that there were "many new dogs" I kept wondering why that would be an issue if all of the dogs including mine had already passed temperament tests. It's not as if it was always the same dogs here every time we boarded him or dropped him off for daycare, and he meets new dogs all the time at the dog park. But I wasn't worried about my dog having any issues, he has never had aggression issues and we go to the dog park at least 3 times a week, we have stayed with friends or family who have dogs, friends bring their dogs here, and he has boarded and had daycare at this very place many times, never a single issue. We have a husky and he gets along with every breed large and small, from Yorkies and Pugs to Labs and German Shepherds. If they want to play and wrestle he's happy with that, but if they want him to keep his distance or just sit around he does that too. Even my mom's grumpy old pug just growls and sometimes snaps while my dog sits there wagging his tail like a happy idiot. I had not been told on the phone it was a 2 hour drop-off, I was thinking maybe 20-30 minutes, so when I arrived and they told me to pick him up in a couple hours I asked if I could just pay for a half day of daycare since I hadn't planned for that and it would be more convenient for me to come back a little later. At around the 1.5 hour mark I was shocked to get a call that my dog not only got into a fight, but supposedly started the fight. I was told he could stay for the duration of the daycare but they wouldn't be able to board him. Um, no I'm not leaving my dog there for one extra second when obviously something is super wrong. When I arrived, the woman in line in front of me booked some additional daycare or boarding, picked up her large breed dog and when she left I was informed that that was the dog my dog supposedly started the fight with. This dog was around 80 lbs, my dog is 55 lbs and shorter stature, and neither dog had injuries. They brought my dog out to me and of course I don't know exactly what happened but I expected him to be a little worked up and hyper but he wasn't. He gets more hyper when I pick him up from grooming because he hates the water. So I believe one of three things happened: either my dog actually did start the first fight ever in his 5 year life, with a larger, stronger dog, meaning he felt totally unsafe and threatened to the degree that he reacted with force when normally he runs away from dogs that start to fight at the dog park. perhaps overcrowding or other issues, but it would have to be REALLY BAD because he normally doesn't even react when dogs hump him or snap at him, if anything he trots away to go sniff a new corner. Same thing with toys or treats, it's usually smaller dogs that run away with the toys and he just follows them like "hey I was playing with that" but never fights. Or, the other dog started the fight but that dog is a regular and that would explain why they kemp emphasizing "new dogs", if they have dogs that don't have the best temperament but their owners take them all the time and they don't want to lose the regular income, maybe they will reject any dogs that those dogs start fights with to limit issues but keep the regulars. Or the only other possibility I can imagine is that, they have all new staff and maybe even new owners and run things differently, maybe the current staff aren't really qualified and don't know how to work with dogs and maybe it wasn't even a fight, but normal play between two large breed dogs, but anything more than running around they think is a fight? After all, the owner of the other dog was booking more boarding so even if she was aware of the situation it didn't rise to the level of being concerned over her dog's safety or well-being apparently. I used to recommend them to everyone who asked me about boarding their dog but either the new people working here don't know how to handle dogs or they are way overcrowded (but even then, sometimes the park gets overcrowded and my dog doesn't get aggressive so there would still have to be more to it), or they have some more aggressive regular customer dogs that they are catering to.

Great place to take your dog for grooming. They explain everything very detailed about how they're going to groom Milo. Since this is his first time there. He looks great, so glad we found this place !

This is one of the photos staff sent me while I was out of town. He looks so happy!!! Made me 100% confident that he was in good hands.

If I could give Bowhaus 10 out of 5 stars I would!!! Seriously. My boyfriend lives in Pasadena so when I'm there with him I bring my dog Norman to Bowhaus. I really wish they had more locations because its my absolute favorite here! I've always had really great interactions with the staff and after returning after Normans first day here, they remembered him by name the second I walked in. I was super surprised! If you leave your pup overnight, you can have the overnight staff send you pictures/videos so this is great if you're leaving them for an extended period of time. Bowhaus is very different from the dog daycare I take Norman to at home. Instead of it being a huge concrete, indoor rectangle....the dogs are playing in an indoor/outdoor combo with fake grass, toys and beds to lay on. I highly recommended bringing your dogs here, you won't regret it!!!

After reopening during Covid Maya is back to boarding, daycare and haircuts by Nancy. She loves it and I am worry free. The facility maintains clean and safe standards. Thank you to all the staff who are caring and friendly. I couldn't live without you all!

Full disclosure, I have been to four other groomers in the area and this one is probably the best. Short notice for an appointment, no problem. Smells as good in the store as Tito smells as we're leaving... They use different shampoos based on the hair/fur/skin needs of the furry creatures. Tito has sensitive skin, so they usually use the oatmeal or medicated shampoo to deal with him. They do a great job on him, whether it's a cut or a bath or both. And the bath includes nail trim, glands cleaning, and ear cleaning... Nancy is especially thorough & hardworking! And she is always welcoming to the little guy. There are dog and cat beds, toys, treats, & food, all high quality. They sell Natural Balance, which is what Tito eats. Last night he came home with a tie! They always go the extra mile to make him cute as a button. Sometimes he has a little bandana that he rocks for a few days to a week after coming home from Bowhaus. He loves the luxe life.

Lollie after her appointment at Bowhaus!

Bowhaus has been so fantastic and accommodating to Lollie! Lollie is my shiba Inu and she goes to Bowhaus for grooming. I don't always have the most flexible schedule and so they have been able to work with me to get Lollie's bath done! Nancy does a amazing job with Lollie's grooming. Lollie's fur is always super soft and shiny. Most importantly I trust Bowhaus and I love that Lollie is excited to go visit all of the staff. They have a very professional and friendly group of employees! Thank you Bowhaus!

    Finished with a tie :)

I've been taking bestie here for maybe a year now and I swear he comes back looking even cuter and like himself? His fur is so soft and fluffy. It's so hard for me to trust anyone with Goji, but Fluffy Puppy has proved themselves time and again that they are so careful and good at what they do! Thanks to all!

Dude almost died when we had to remove all his teeth. When we adopted him and his partner, they were super neglected advance case rescues--and this little guy has bad lungs, liver, pancreas, and personality (IYKYK these little jerks). In 2025, after we took out the poor guy's remaining teeth, his pancreas started failing post-op. It took us about 6 months to get him back to health. In that time, he lost a ton of weight and most of his hair. His butt was actually bald! Then, miraculously, or through pure yorkie dark side terrier magic, he actually got MORE healthy with MORE hair...but different hair, and different texture, and even different colors! It is wild. Today, we took him in for his first groom since being on the verge of death, and the little guy looks like a puppy again. He clearly feels great with the last few months of bulk coming off. My wife came across R&G when looking for dog groomers and we've been coming back to R&G regularly since 2019. Later, in 2021 we rescued another little senior dog named Mimi. She had a bit more sass than Max and unfortunately her last owners hadn't done the best job caring for her coat. R&G treated her with so much love and respect that they were able to give her a bath and give her a great looking trim that we almost didn't recognize her. She looked like a refreshed dog. Unfortunately, Mimi passed in 2023 but R&G was also caring enough to be there for us as we navigated that loss. To this day we continue to recommend R&G to anyone looking for a dog groomer because they will treat their pets like the family they are. Even though we moved 40+ minutes away from Pasadena, we still make the drive to come here because they are worth it. Leanne, Elizabeth, Jasmine, and the team are caring to both our dogs and to us and we will continue to come to R&G for our dog grooming needs.
