Or just me not reacting in time when exposed to places with speakers playing really loud music? These people are the exclusive specialists you should see if you have concerns with tinnitus of any kind. They will pull all of the important hearing tests and properly educate you about tinnitus so you won't believe stuff you see online. I now carry around ear plugs attached to my keys everywhere I go. I may not be able to control random loud sounds outside but I can control how I react. By putting on ear plugs the instant I know loud noises are coming, and living cautiously by not going to places where I know the noise/music is loud.

Every interaction, from scheduling an appointment, to experiencing your first consultation, to the customised and meticulous nature of the solutions to your hearing needs, is handled with such care, empathy, and authenticity. Dr. Patty is EXTREMELY knowledgable and has the rare ability to connect with her patients on a human level; leading to you walking out of every meeting with a profound understanding of the complexities of your ear and brain's anatomy as well as peace of mind knowing your needs are being met at the highest possible standard. In my case, I went in searching for custom hearing plugs as I experience some very loud environments with my job and in my day-to-day life. Dr. Patty sat down with me and walked me through every step: educating me on how the inner workings of the ear, the methodology she has honed to create the custom mould, and how to find the ideal reduction in decibels that would best suit my needs. You are also given the option of picking from a variety of colours! Dr. Patty then brings you back in for a fitting and followup to ensure the plugs are the perfect size and achieve your protection needs with a comprehensive audio test (If you're lucky she will also bless you with a plethora of fun animal facts!) I am blown away by the level of care I was provided with. To Jalisa, Melissa, and Dr. Patty, thank you SO much for being such amazing people and for all of your time and help. To anyone looking for treatment for their ears (or preventative measures to protect your hearing long term like me) look no further.

I have long-term hearing loss from motorcycles, rock and roll concerts, and the blasts from…read moreshotguns and rifles. Its been over 42 years that I have suffered from tinnitus. My current aids were not really doing the job, even though they are less than a year old. I just wasn't happy with them. So, I went to see Dr. Miles. He provided me with a new pair of Oticons. They are FABULOUS! I don't understand the technology, but apparently it monitors all the sounds at about 100 times a second. Here's what it says on its website: "Powered by the Velox™ platform, the newest BrainHearing™ solution from Oticon employs an "open sound" approach to manage multiple speech and noise sources, even in complex listening situations. The company says the new OpenSound Navigator™ scans the environment 100 times per second to analyze and balance every sound individually. Environmental sounds are said to be accessible, but not disturbing. With this open sound experience, Oticon reports that it makes traditional directionality, designed to focus on the main sound in front and suppress background sounds, a thing of the past. Users can now focus on a conversation while staying attentive to people and things around them, and switch focus quickly and easily." Now again, I don't understand it all exactly, but the aids have been really working well. Oticon also has an app for the phone that makes it easy and unobtrusive to control the volume. You don't have to pick the ambient noise quality (e.g., car, restaurant, etc.) because it is doing that all automatically. At least that's what I think its doing. Great hearing aids! I haven't been this happy with hearing aids in a long time. Patric Kelly

It took me a lot to put my pride aside and face the fact I can't hear and need double ear pieces, regardless of how others would see me as an old lady or weak. My first experience was awesome & Frighteningly exciting, I was now hearing EVERYTHING !! So many noises would startle me to death. Other than I can finally hear, never been so welcomed by Dr's and staff such as these wonderful ladies have always done. My doctor told me about making an acrylic mold for my hearing soda so they'd be less uncomfortable or ticklish in my ears. They made another appointment for me to come back and to bring my hearing aids so I did today and I came early but when I asked them where my hearing aids the girl named Abby or something told me it was being cleaned and the wire on my hearing aids were replaced and so I asked to see my hearing aids and I wanted to speak with the doctor who saw me a couple days ago. But instead of letting me talk to her, they lied that the lady who came after me was here first or her appointment was first and it wasn't first come first serve. So they gave my hearing aids back but it looked different than before so I told them about that. Then lied to me once again and said okay nothing was done to my hearing aids. Then another lady who also worked at the reception desk but more to the left approached and fake apologized on behalf of the office and she was basically trying to get me to shut up and go. She suddenly said she had to contact insurance because the mold the doctor offered to get me suddenly needed to be approved by insurance, another lie. So they made me come all the way here even though my house is far away and I was stuck in traffic and I got here and they all started to lie and give me reasons and tried to blame me for their own miscommunication.

I actually chose a couple of doctors before but ended up canceling both times. Finally, after more searching, I found Dr. Kristina Hobson in Los Gatos. To be honest, when I first walked into her office, I was already looking for an excuse to cancel again. But once I spoke with her, I was really impressed with her knowledge and the way she explained everything, so I decided to keep my appointment. Today was my procedure at Silicon Valley Surgery Center, and I had such a great experience. The facility was clean, calm, and very nice. Every single person I interacted with was wonderful. From the front desk to Barbara, who helped review my paperwork everyone was kind and welcoming. My first nurse, Kay, was incredibly nice, knowledgeable, and professional. When she went on break, Nicole took over she was also amazing. I'm not a fan of needles at all, but she did my IV so gently and with so much care. Then Kat, the third nurse, took me to the procedure room she was kind, calm, and very professional. Dr. Michael Block, the anesthesiologist, was excellent. He actually texted me the night before to ask if I wanted to review everything ahead of time or on the day of the procedure, which I really appreciated. We exchanged a few messages, and then he spoke with me again before the procedure and explained everything clearly. He was confident, knowledgeable, and very reassuring. In the procedure room, I fell asleep within seconds and woke up quickly afterward feeling great. Within about 30 minutes, I felt completely fine. I was even able to take calls and respond to emails. And now, about Dr. Hobson ,she is truly a 10 out of 10. Honestly, the entire experience was 10 out of 10. From the office to the surgery center, every single nurse and staff member was exceptional. I'm a very detail-oriented and perfectionist person because of my job, so I don't say this lightly. Something I was so scared of and postponed for 5 years turned into such a smooth and positive experience. Thank you to everyone
