I have been going to this Hearing center for two years. The team is pretty good. They try to accommodate your schedule. I have found them very helpful. The reason for only 4 stars is the location. You must park in a garage about a half block away and walk to the building. If you are handicapped or have difficulty walking, this is not the place for you. I love the office manager Paige, she is top rate. In the past two years, I have seen two different audiologists, and the technicians keep changing. warning- avoid--hear usa--at all times, they are truly pathetic. the 22-year-old receptionist was snotty and bossy mark the audiologist didn't even check my ears for wax before give me a hearing test "if i remember right" thank you hearing health, truly truly knowedgable and professional i purchased a $5,000 pair of widex hearing aids through my insurance at work united healthcare.. the vendor was hear usa.... hinsdale illinois the audiologist it is named mark, twice he insisted i buy another brand which were not good... both were defective i wanted widex... he didn't know anything about them but yet they were willing to sell them.... these people are truly pathetic including the district manager who blame me.. i called united healthcare and ask him to swap me to another provider..... they told me i had no services available because i'd use them all, hear usa had lied to them about using all the covered benefits. *** i cannot tell you how amazed i was at the difference in service between the good guys "hearing health" and and the desperados hear usa inc i got years of experience in sales customer service and collections.... i know the difference between quality and intelligence........ and a broken down horse i had the broken down horse and switch to the super players... thank you hearing health..... everyone at different locations i've dealt with have been the pinnacle of professionalism in ease in service and i can't thank them enough i really really endorse these people... they have the technical know how, take care and they'll get you in quick and i'll quick... the people like me and you and they know their product inside and out i can't say enough besides the easiest way to go... is shopping with hearing health bill rawle read more

Unpleasant experience resulted in getting a full refund and going to a different Dr. after several visits. On my first visit I was told I needed to put half down the for aids I was trialing BEFORE receiving them. The following week I returned to pick them up and get the new trial pair "fitted". I was told on the second visit that I was not allowed to leave without paying the remaining balance. In a short week I was expected to pay $5,200 for a pair of hearing aids I was trying out! I ended up returning the pair before the 30 day return window was up, ordered another pair and returned those as well. The "fittings" were a joke. Twice I was given the wrong size tubes and it felt like I was pulling teeth to get the tech to change any programming. Lastly, on my second visit I was told the Dr. I had was not going to be returning to that office. My sister told me this also happened to her at another location. So, beware of the bait-and-switch. Great place super friendly. Always on time. I was drawn in by their use of the Lyric hearing aid. Couldn't be happier. Dee at the front desk is always helpful and cheery. Dr. Rigsby is my audiologist and he is great as well. They always try to fit you in if you have an emergency. I rate them two eardrums up. read more

very bad place to shop for hearing aids. had my tests done at Amita hospital i paid for them and waited for two weeks to arrive. finely they called me to pick them up at 4pm, i asked if i can get there a little earlier, since i was having therapy at Amita one floor away they told me no because there were too many people waiting ,so sat in the hospital for over an hour went to their suite and no one was there i called them and they told me that they were at Oakbrook,il. over an hour from were i live. I told them to keep their hearing aids and cancelled my order.now it;s going to take over 3 weeks to recieve my refund. bad,bad.bad place to business with. wood rather go deaf then business with them read more

Buyer beware. At the end of May, my mom purchased the kind of hearing aids that are inserted inside the ears and are replaced every 6-8 weeks. Unfortunately, she unexpectedly passed away in September utilizing less than 1/3 of the yearly charge. Even though she had to pay for the year in advance - $1800 per ear/$3600 total - I was told that the company does not offer partial refunds. This does not seem fair since she would not be utilizing the hearing aids and the doctor's time that she had paid for in advance. So, buyer beware - if your family member uses this type of hearing aids and passes away - there will be no partial refund. read more

I'm not sure what the previous reviewer's issues were, but I had an extremely positive experience here. After reading the previous (and only) review, I was a little hesitant, but after a really not-so-great experience at a hearing health office in Hinsdale I figured, what have I got to lose? Everyone in this office was spectacular. From Sonia, at the front desk, to Dr. Kara Houston, the doctor I met with, and even the student (Ashley, I think) who was working at the office, everyone was just really great. Dr. Houston couldn't have been more thorough, knowledgeable and helpful and, when a glitch came up with some paperwork (totally my fault) they couldn't have been more understanding or accommodating. I would hate for someone not to get the help or the care they need from these doctors because of one bad review. Like I said, I have no idea what the other reviewer dealt with, but MY experience here could not have been more wonderful. read more

I really like the staff at Hearing Health Center. They have been most helpful in getting things sorted out with my hearing issues. I thought that the type that fit in the ear canal would work for me but I found that it wasn't the right type. I was able to go back and get the more traditional behind the ear model. It has worked out much better. My only disappointment is the office location. It can be a bit of challenge to find parking at the Oak Brook mall. It ends up being a long walk to get there. It's not a deal breaker when balanced with the good service. read more

My wife was very happy with her first visit and received her first hearing aids a number of years ago. The doctor was very attentive and seemed to spend some time. She was covered for a number of follow up visits and free batteries for awhile which was at least one year, maybe two On a follow up visit recently, she had her hearing aids adjusted by a new doctor as the other doctor moved to another office. The hearing aids were adjusted and he said he cleaned them. My wife has complained how she has trouble hearing, but I have said to her she should have gone back and had the doctor adjust it better per ear. It seems she was charged a lot and was not given sufficient time to compare the hearing ear by ear and not just hearing over all. She was charged for both the cleaning and the adjustment. The cleainng was around $30 but the adjustment was over $200. So the low rating is because of the lack of time spent for the amount charged, though she was told she could come back for new hearing aids in the near future and have some of this cost discounted. How many can afford to purchase hearing aids every 3 years. I am trying to help her find a better place to go. read more

DO NOT GO HERE. I was a patient of this locations for a number of years. I finally had enough of their overbooking and delays in appointments...sometimes being refered to another location. I became part of their dysfunctional operation. I had lyric hearing aids and the quality and service became expensive and disappointing. The doctors are urged to sell rather than heal. If you go there you will see first hand. If you DO NOT go there: you just saved yourself aggravation, time and money. I submitted this review to help others. Review for this location only: I had a 2-3 minute talk with a tech who ended up telling me she could mail my devices to the manufacturer if I wanted, since she saw no issues after putting my hearing aids through their industrial dehumidifier. I never saw an audiologist and was charged $65 for this 7-8 minute visit which it seems nothing was really done other than dehumidifying my devices. Extremely disappointed. Two stars, only because they're friendly otherwise zero stars for the overcharge (was quoted two different prices for cleaning). read more
