I sadly broke my permanent jewelry waist chain off & came in searching for new hoops so I could try to fix it. One of the ladies working quickly inquired if I needed some help and then spent 30 minutes helping me fix my waist chain , hand chain & even making a new waist chain for me with chains and beads in a way it became 'permanent' again. The attitude of the shop owner is always off putting! Treats you like you are stealing. Has made me leave my purse behind the counter in the past. Yesterday I went in (only if I am desperate) bought 150.00. My cards kept declining she gave me her uppity attitude! I ended up paying cash. Great selection of beads, and great customer service! I was traveling, and some of my plans were falling through due to weather etc. I had hoped to do a class here but my timing was off. I saw they sold kits so I checked the place out before leaving Salt Lake City. The lady was so nice and accommodating. She even picked out all the supplies I would need for a pattern I bought. She didn't seem the least bit irritated by my helplessness! She even recommended a hot spring to add to my travel plans! Great experience! DO NOT PURCHASE- I brought in a photo to replicate the necklace my daughter wore until she died last December. I asked the clerk to help me find EXACTLY the beads to create this necklace for her 4 surviving sisters. I spent over an hour comparing the necklace and they said the beads would be perfect. When I discovered the beads were significantly smaller than the original- I tried to get the correct size. Not only did they NOT have what I needed - they were unable to offer a place to find the correct beads AND they refused to return the beads of the wrong size. read more

They will take the time to teach you how to do anything. They have classes. (I took a few and was the only student so you get lots of attention.) They have books. Terrible Return Policy I had been looking to purchase some beads. I try to shop local whenever possible. I stopped into Heart Beads. Selected some beads and went to pay for them. As I approached the counter there was another customer directly in front of the register, and I was standing to the side. The salesperson​ asked me if I had ever shopped there before. I said no, she told me about the classes they offer and gave me a loyalty card. One week later I decided​ I didn't want the beads. Everything was still in the bag, I looked at the receipt and that's when I noticed it said all sales are final. Surely this can't mean beads still packaged right? I completely understand if someone opens the beads and attempts to use them. The beads were still in the packaging with the price tag on them. I check all over the website, no policy is listed. I emailed the contact information. A few days go by with no response. I decided to go in the store. That's when I see a little tiny sign on the side of the register that says no refunds only store credit, as well as sign on the front of the counter (where the other customer was standing as I approached) that said only store credit. I was pretty annoyed. Honestly, with so many other places to shop like Amazon, Joann's or Michael's what's the point of trying to support local business? If I buy from one of the big stores and change my mind I know I can have my money back. I also just received a reply back from my email from the business that said: any of the sales associates would have been happy to go over the return policy if you would have asked. So, it's my fault I didn't ask, as opposed to when the salesperson​ asked if it was my first time there, just telling me. It might be helpful for future patrons to just ask them if they are aware of the return policy​ since it's not quite the normal business practice to not give money back for unopened, unused items 1 week after purchase read more

We have visited this store many, many times. We spend a lot of time in there yet we feel like we are being treated as if we are trying to steal something. They are constantly following us around and asking us if we need anything. When we state that we are just looking and getting the few things that we need. They still hover close by to the point it is ridiculous. I understand that we are not purchasing big bead hauls. My daughter has a small business that she makes handbeaded items. We have visited here and kept loyalty although being treated poorly. Our 2 favorite bead stores closed down several years ago. This is basically the only bead store in the valley. They carry a really large collection of all kinds of beads. They have the delicas that you usually have to go online to purchase. I do love the store but don't appreciate being treated like I am going to steal something and/or that our purchases are not enough. They hardly ever answer their phones and when they do answer one of the ladies has told me on multiple occasions that she doesn't have the time to go and check to see if they have the delicas, seed beads or stones that we are looking for and I am not about to drive over 40 mile to find out that they do not have them in. I have worked in retail now for over 33 years and this is not the way your run a professional business. Your phone people are just as important as the patron at the counter and I do get that the one at the counter comes first over the one on the phone. But you can always ask politely to the customer on the phone. If they could please hold. I don't think it takes that much effort to be respectful to all of your customers. read more
