Excellent cortado with oat milk and single origin espresso. This was my first stop after arriving in Portland for the weekend, and I'm glad I came. Other cafes in the city have a high bar to match!

Quick Summary: - Coffee is slightly sour but not overbearing - Plenty of seats inside the cafe A colleague recommended me this cafe when I asked good coffee places to try in Portland. To where we were staying, this was almost a half day trip, but with public transportation rampant in this city, the trip wasn't tedious. The cafe isn't located in the main parts of Portland, but on the southeast side, more suburb. Inside the cafe is spacious with lots of booths and tables to sit. In the center of the cafe there was the counter to order. We ordered a cafe latte, a pourover, and a coffee cake. Generally, I'm not fond of the sour taste in coffee. While this one did have this flavor, it was faint than most. The mouth feel was lighter and refreshing as well. This paired nicely with the coffee cake, so overall it was a good coffee experience.

Very positive visit to Heart Roasters last Friday, what used to be a restaurant years ago, is now home to roasters. I had a cappuccino and it was very well presented in kind of a comfortable space, more business than pleasure with some outdoor seating, hurry then go quick. I purchased some beans from Kenya, yet to try at home. All & All ; The place is a bit cold in decor, but the coffee is hot. Really nice merch and service was knowledgeable and helpful. I will return for sure when I am in this area, this coffee house is better than most in PDX.

Spicy Chai with Pumpkin Spice (Light Ice) I have not drank any of this yet BY THE WAY.

I never write reviews tbh. Only because if I ever do experience an issue, which isn't often thankfully, they always fix it the way it feels good for both the company and the customer. That said, I stopped into Heart Café after touring an apartment nearby; the space looked inviting and had a great atmosphere. People were chatting, music playing softly, sipping their coffee, and I immediately thought, "This could be my go-to spot." Unfortunately, the service didn't reflect the same warmth. When I approached the counter, the barista didn't greet me or make eye contact until I said hello first. I ordered an iced chai with pumpkin spice flavoring, light ice. After paying and tipping, the drink was handed to me within moments, completely full of ice, no lid, and overflowing. When I mentioned it was supposed to be light ice, the barista said, "That's right, light ice," then strained my drink through a cup, poured it back into my original cup, and added just a few of the same ice cubes back. What I got in return was a drink missing nea third of what I paid for. That is NOT okay. For nearly $7 for this drink (without tip). I expected better service and care for such a simple request. The café has a great vibe and potential, but consistency and customer service matter just as much as aesthetics. I deserve a refund. My visit was around 12:38pm and a gentleman with blonde somewhat longish hair helped me. Anyone who visits here, I hope your experience is not like mine and I hope this company does what's right whenever things like this come up and don't put half their energy in it.

Such a cute coffeeshop! It was right near our airbnb. The coffee was great and there was a nice selection of baked goods. Loved the interior of the shop as well; very modern, high ceilings, and a nice spot for a quick break. For more, see Instagram @sipsandsizzles

Great coffee shop! Love the coffee here - try to buy some to bring home! Most coffees are medium to dark roast, but if you prefer lighter roasts, stop by Heart Roasters!

Very limited options as far as versatility with coffee, which makes this coffee spot a big turn off . For an example, they don't have a blended ice machine, They only have oat milk. They don't have almond milk. They can only do very select drinks, which I guess makes it a lot simple for them... but when the coffee is not exuberantly great.. it's not something I would drive for or come back to. Coffee does have a unique taste? i dislike and like it at the same time. So overall I would give this a 5.5/10. It does look inviting , and aesthetic inside. I see potential in this place with the right investor. The guys taking the orders are very nice.

Cute, trendy coffee spot! I love the vibe of this coffee shop! Hubby and I got iced vanilla lattes half sweet with oatmilk and they made it perfect! We also got the orange olive oil cake and bostock. At first look, the bostock was hard and not soft as I expected. But Wow! It was delicious!! The orange olive oil cake was moist and delicious too!

Don't believe I've had a better cup of coffee than at Heart. I got the cardamom latte and it was perfect. Coffee tastes super smooth and was not too sweet. I could drink a jug of this, but that would probs ruin my stomach. The pop tart that I got was really great as well. Loved the raspberry jam and the flaky texture of the pastry. Honestly don't think you can go wrong with anything here! Space is pretty huge with lots of seats and outdoor seating as well. Baristas were all really nice and gave me recommendations on which beans to get. Must stop if you're in Portland looking for amazing, no gimmicks coffee.

The caramel taste homemade and while it may not be for everyone it was a bit over cooked giving the otherwise very sweet drink a touch of bitter bite at the end. While I didn't stay, the shop was lovely and unique with its tables and floor seating. If in the neighborhood, this is a great spot to pause for a bit between the many shops around. This is nothing on the shop, but I always warn when places are in those older parts of town, ie no parking lot and very small congested side streets around. Be care and slow finding parking as it can be a challenge. For me, this shop is worth it.

Lots of people hanging out in the shop, some working, some talking, but it seemed like a good spot to get some stuff done. There was music playing that set a welcoming mood. Overall, highly recommend if you enjoy flavored lattes.

Located on Hawthorne just past the curve at 50th, they've got plenty of free street parking in the nearby blocks. They don't have much external signage but they do have a lot of outdoor streetside seating, so it makes you wonder what everyone else knows. Inside, they've got Coava coffee, efficient staff, and an old-school cafe vibe. With multiple couches (one of my main criteria for a coffee shop) and free wifi, this is a place to work, meet people, and slow down. Great long hours - they're open 6am-6pm.

The intentions were genuine and things have progressed in a way where Albina Press is one of the most recognized coffee brands in the city. It's not too dissimilar from its OG sister location in North Portland (#3), where they still brew high quality caffeinated drinks with the vibes of a homey communal space with chairs, couches, and individual tables for a proper coffee date, WFH worthy WiFi, and plenty of anti-war propaganda in the self-serve water area in the back. The latte art was on point, the cold brew was most definitely strong, cafe au lait was milky and foamy in the best way, and the americano drinks were fabulous. While their hours (#4) aren't particularly suited for after-work hours, they do an excellent job of keeping their space clean and the vibes low key throughout the morning and afternoon. Prices are good for Portland standards. Most drinks are $5 and under, even for the largest sizes. The limited but high quality pastry selection is also appreciated. The service was good overall, just be certain with the order and don't be afraid to ask for recommendations. Lines can happen, albeit rarely, and I would encourage most folks to drink the coffee on the spot. Their shop is very curated and is definitely has a "recently here because of gentrification vibe." However, I know it's been in Portland for a while and locals swear by it. With shops like these I find it easy to focus and work. The minimalist and industrial decor is a great place for adhd brains like mine. I was warmly greeted by someone at the register. I was interested in so many choices on their matcha. Horchata iced coffe, orange latte, strawberry Ube matcha. I asked the barista if they do exchanges or remakes for drink if the customer dislikes what they ordered. She mentioned they have a NO REMAKES policy. I knew it was time to lock in instead of trying something Willynilly. She was super patient with me as I wondered what to get and discussed my hesitations. She let me sample a tiny amount of the strawberry uber syrup and lavender to make my decision and it helped. I ended up getting and iced lavender matcha and didn't regret it at all. It's been hard for me to find good matcha in Portland and they didn't disappoint. The syrup was blended in well. The flavor of the matcha wasn't too grassy, bitter or powdery. I'm sad it's a seasonal drink because I'll Miss it. I also got an almond croissant, which was good but not mind blowing. I think I'll try the banana bread next time. They have a bathroom, 1 booth, bench seating and wall seating. It would be a bit of a challenge to bring a group larger than 3 here as they're small and busy. Maybe if you sat outside.
