It was paper thin, and COVERED in grease, must have taken forever to get the crust that thin, it looked like every individual shred of cheese was placed on the pizza to give just enough coverage but was such a thin layer you could see through it. Last time I was here was when it was still Stone Hearth. Came here with some family after craving some Italian and wanted something different from our usual. Decided to check this place out, especially after seeing the favorable reviews on yelp. There is only street parking in front, but if you make your way around back, there is parking in the cvs lot and a back door if all the metered parking is taken. The decor is cute with unique salt and pepper holders in the center of the table. I ordered the fig, prosciutto and blue cheese small pizza, although I was also considering the prosciutto and pineapple pizza, and the chicken parm. Our party also ordered the meat lovers calzone, meatball delight panini, and the roasted eggplant parm served in a cast iron skillet. Overall, I enjoyed the fig and prosciutto pizza and the eggplant parm was good, but the meatball panini was just okay and the calzone was alright. The server I had here might have been the worst I have ever had in my life. What should have been a quick lunch turned into two hours. She never checked on us to see if we needed refills or to ask how the food was. We had to ask a busser to find our server so we could place our order. Even after the busses talked to the server, it was about another 15 minutes before she came to take our order. I did notice that the busser was working hard and helping out as much as she could, so I did appreciate what she was doing. The food was also pretty good, so I cannot complain about that. So disappointed in my lunch today. This is NOT the place to order from if you want a reasonably priced lunch during the work week. $17.50 for a puny, medium sized pizza with 6 slices and $10 for a plastic takeout box of romaine lettuce, croutons and some grated cheese left our lunch group unimpressed and still hungry. (To clarify, our group ordered more than one pizza, and we also ordered a couple of salads.) There is nothing noteworthy about the quality of their pizza that justifies such high prices. This is the first time in LONG time that I've spent $16 on lunch and am still hungry. I'm happy to pay a premium when warranted, but these is nothing to defend the disparity between the prices charged and what you receive. Also, the pesto chicken pizza has very little actual chicken on it. If you're looking for a tasty, reasonably priced pizza place, go elsewhere. read more

Absolutely horrible! This was my first time ever ordering from them and it was the worst delivery service I have ever had. I ordered mac and cheese, small cheese pizza and a 2 liter coke. It took 2 hours to get to my work, I had to call twice asking where my order was and both times was told it was only a few mins away. The place is only 2.8 miles from my work so there is no excuse as to why it should have taken 2 hours. The food was completely cold and I was too busy at work by that point to even be able to eat as my lunch hour had passed long before my food arrived. I paid $35 for cold food I couldn't even eat. I appreciated the patience of the woman on the phone, but when I arrived to pick up the pizza, there was a man behind the counter (not the cashier) who gave me an attitude. Hearth Pizzeria formerly Stone Hearth Pizza opened March 1st, 2015. Baked Wings are my favorite with the home made BBQ sauce. The BBQ pizza is good eating too! Ivan the executive chef is now the owner of Hearth Pizzeria. Great food, great service, craft brews. Ivan added TV's for those sports minded diners. Had a great meal at Hearth the other night and I can honestly say that it was one of the best dining experiences I have ever had! Fantastic service, delicious food and just a great overall environment. As for the food, it was absolutely delightful. We ordered the Pesto Chicken and the Fig Prosciutto pizzas and they are some of the most tasty pizzas I've ever had. The salads were also fresh and crisp leaving me with nothing to complain about. The service was also great. Though the restaurant and waitress' were very busy, they always managed to get me everything I needed and were very kind. Our waitress was very well versed on the menu and she had answer to every one of my questions. The only complaint that I have - if any at all - is that Hearth is a family restaurant and there were a lot of kids around. The family crowd is usually there around 6 so my recommendation is to show up at about 7:30/8. Aside from that, no complaints here. Fantastic overall place with stellar service! Don't order from YELP/Eat 24. The food took 1 hour and 35 minutes to get here when the estimate was 35-45 minutes. To put the icing on the cake our pizza was a size smaller than what we paid for. We love Hearth. Our kids are always happy and satisfied. The food is so carefully made and the pizza and wings are absolutely delicious. I always find yelp reviews entertaining, since people's tastes are so diverse and one bad experience can ruin it for you. I tend to ignore negative reviews and have my own impression. I got takeout pizza from Hearth. We all really loved the pizza, especially the Green Goddess. It was just a little over priced.

We've been ordering from Hearth for years but we've recently been more impressed with their quality and thought I'd put in a review to capture the improvement. Last night [4 days before Christmas] we left ordering a little late, because of my brother's family arrival time, and when we phoned to order we were told by the owner they were closed but because we regularly order from him he worked after he was closed to make our pizzas for us. We tried a few new ones along the lines of my brothers kids tastes and were really wowed by some great pizzas that we hadn't tried before [fig, prosciutto & arugula as well as the chicken pesto] in addition to our usual pepperoni & sausage. Checked out their online menu called and ordered the meatball and arancini apps, Green Goddess and Pepperoni pizzas and key lime pie. Everything was excellent and tasted delicious but most especially the pizzas (2 home runs! Super thin crust and super tasty) and that key lime pie, light and luscious. We order delivery from this pizza place through "Grubhub" and it was terrible. We ordered 2 medium pizza, and their medium pizza looked like a small personal pizza. It cost us $60 for pizza that should have cost $40. I will never order delivery from this place again. The food is decent to good, but a bit pricey for the serving size (personal pizza is the average size though). The service (at least at lunch) is what kills this place. Briefly, I just wanted to say that I love this place. It used to be a chain and now it's an independent place run (owned?) by a guy who seems really great. It just seems that they are always working hard to be creative and do different things to draw new customers and make existing customers happy. My wife and I bring our 2 kids there almost every Tuesday for kid's night and it is always a good experience. They have creative and tasty specials that seem to be updated every month or so. There is always a good salad and then some sort of special pizza and pasta dish. I like the food here although they keep it simple and most things are some relationship to pasta, pizza, calzone so there are no chicken breast dishes or steaks or things like that. But I think they do what they do well. So I would definitely recommend this place. We keep going back and I am just totally rooting for the owner and the restaurant to be successful. Looks like the people reviewing this were upset about the value or the service? People need to get a grip with these Yelp reviews. Give them a break! read more

I moved to the Newton/Wellesley area from SF almost 2 years ago and have been searching for a good thin-crust pizza from a place that delivers. After a long search, I tried Hearth Pizzeria and am so glad I did! I ordered the Margherita pizza, a "make your own" salad and the marinated olives. Every item was super tasty. The pizza crust was thin and crispy, and the sauce and cheese had great flavor. The salad with the lemon thyme dressing was wonderful - I will DEFINITELY order that again. The olives were super yummy with just the right blend of herbs. I would have given 5 stars except the outer crust of the pizza was a little thicker than I'd have liked, and it was just barely warm when it arrived (I'm probably at the outer edge of their delivery area, so understandable). Otherwise, I am super happy to FINALLY have a good go-to place for pizza. read more

We are so disappointed in this place. Tried a new place for Friday pizza. Meatball poppers are not poppers but normal not so tasty meatballs. The arancini balls was only 1..tasted ok but very spicy. The pizza was just gross and expensive. We ordered a small cheese with olive oil and mozzarella and provolone. It was overcooked and cheese flavor off. Both the buffalo chicken and BBQ chicken were hard and overloaded. The flavor of both turned my stomach along with mushy texture in bite. Oh and the best part was the bag containing meatballs and the arancini ball exploded on my counter from grease. The containers all flew open, dumped on my phone, counter, cupboards and into a pike splattering my 1 year old. To say we will never eat here is obvious. Just so disappointed! read more

I asked if I could order something not on the menu, and they were more than accommodating! At my request they made a steak and cheese sandwich with mushrooms, onions and arugula. The steak was cooked perfectly medium rare, and the pieces were bite sized for a sandwich. It was all wrapped up in a fresh toasted panini bread. I've had a Caesar salad with the steak tips on that, also excellent. The draft beer I had was from Jack's Abbey so it was fresh, as it should be. Very family friendly. Best Tomato sauce around. Great thin crust pizza (whole wheat is best/ multi grain not so good) and toppings are very flavorful/ high quality. The eggplant parmesan is really wonderful too.
