I was there on a Saturday night 9 pm reservation to be exact it was packed . I was there for my husband's birthday we were greeted promptly as soon as we met our server I knew it was a done deal he was so passive aggressive and rude it's unbelievable I thought that maybe he just has attitude but once some when some other customers came and they sat right next to us he was so nice to them he was telling them about the special of the day he was super nice to them and we just had to figure it out for ourselves i had to ask a question about the menu we answered me in a very condescending manner i was truly disappointed!!!! The icing on the cake was when we were done with our dinner the people next to us were also done with their food the lady said I would take this to go and the server took their plates and bagged their food for them I decided to test my theory to see ...... I said the same thing the lady next to me had said about 15 minutes ago he came back to our table with to go boxes and a brown bag. I was baffled. I decided not to take the food home anymore. I told him he could throw it away!!! I wanted to get a piece a cake for my husband because it was his birthday but he was so upset I ordered a tiramisu I left most of it on the table I got my bill it was $153 I tipped 15 dollars but just because he took our order and brought the food to us but not for service I would give 0 tip for the service honestly. Please do better, treat everybody with the same amount of respect. Food service isn't for the weak. But nice restaurant!!! At least he asked us about allergies!!! read more

Tried @zoccadedham last night and it did not disappoint very cozy spot Fried clams were on point--super fresh, lightly coated, and paired with a great dipping sauce. The Italian chopped salad is a meal on its own...loaded with meats, cheese, and a solid vinaigrette. First of all, the food here was fantastic! I had the linguini and clams which all tasted so fresh. We also got the margherita pizza which was clearly homemade and flavorful. The service... ehhh, I find it odd that the bartender allowed us to put in a dessert order just to send the manager over while we were eating it to tell us we had overstayed the time limit and could take the rest of our dessert to go. Our second time here , we usually go to molinaris but this one is a little easier to get to.. Food is top notch, Jeff and the team do a great job!! Beet salad with blue cheese crumbles and sliced almonds is. Nice refreshing start. Grilled octopus with potatoes arugula cippollini onions , some olives is awsome.. Chicken parm sandwich is great. Phenomenal experience all around. You walk in through this large, leather padded door, and feel transported to a restaurant in the heart is Italy! Service was impeccable right from the minute we sat down, and everyone was polite and friendly. We tried the meatballs, which were superb - and pictured here is the Burrata pizza...with a local pesto underneath and a bit of olive oil drizzled on top, this was a delicious dinner choice! We made a reservation and couldn't wait to try this restaurant. Zocca came highly recommended and the reviews looked great. They seated us in the worst seat in the building. Next to the bathrooms at the end of the room. Waited for drinks, our waiter switched jobs after we ordered and became the bartender. We didn't see him again. Food was cold when it came out because all of the help was standing around (including the manager) and apparently they didn't have food runners. The bartender forgot he was our waiter (we had reservations for the love of god). Tried to order another beer and they didn't have another one that was cold. Decided on a mixed drink and that never came. We finally asked the young girl who was putting forks and knifes in the napkins if she could help get us the check and something to put the leftovers. I think she had to ask permission since she was not a waitress. Food sucked by the way. The reviews on Yelp must be self submissions by the manager. read more

What a great find! We stopped by for dinner one night. We sat at the bar and had fantastic cocktails. The food was excellent. When one of our selections was not available the chef came out of the kitchen to let us know and suggest replacements, which weren't even on the menu. It was a wonderful choice. Very Uptight. I just stopped in to get a beer and a pizza to go. The hostess said you can sit at the end of the bar for 50 minutes until the next reservation. So the end of the bar is near the entrance to the kitchen and the door kept opening and hitting me in the shoulder. Not very handicapped accessible!! read more

The interior is very attractive and bright; but the small wooden chairs for dining are a bit uncomfortable. Noise level is a bit high, but our table of four were still able to hear each other talk. Service is friendly but on the rushed side; they clearly want to turn tables at a relatively high clip. At least they are up front about that, bc the menu itself warns that they don't want you to linger longer than 90 minutes. Food was mostly a notch above average. The calamari was lightly fried with a mildly seasoned coating and tasty marinara. The arancini, however, was so small that they seemed more like cheese balls with unnoticeable amount of risotto inside. My grilled peach and fig salad was good but the salmon topping it, while still moist, was a bit too crispy on the outside. We were so excited to finally get a reservation and try this new addition to Dedham! They did a beautiful job renovating and adding the pizza oven. Cocktails were great, as were the bartenders and front of house. We had a reservation at the bar. Ordered the octopus appetizer and then for main meals we ordered the veal parm and homemade pasta with clams. The entrees were wonderful. The clam pasta was sooo delicious! I could have licked the plate. The octopus appetizer had all the makings of something delicious. The potatoes, onions, seasoning were perfection. Unfortunately the octopus was tough. We happened to mention this when the bartender asked and was clearing the plates. The manager immediately came over and spoke to us and sent over another octopus. They followed up and we were honest about the fact that it was equally as tough. The head chef came out to apologize. They were all so gracious and kind and attentive. It was clear that they appreciated the honest feedback and wanted to make sure they taught their staff properly. Overall, I was very impressed for a place that has only been open for 3ish months. I'm really excited to go back and I will try the octopus again because I think they are a place that will try to fix the kinks.
