What I was told would be two day repair for my timing chain turned into a month-long experience with my car sitting in the shop. Communication was inconsistent at times, and I often felt in the dark about what was really happening. The shop initially quoted me around $2,600, then revised it to $4100 and offered a $800 discount. The total ended up at $3,908. During the repair, I was told that my dowel pin had broken in the camshaft, which required additional work. I receive a text message saying my car was ready for pickup. I came paid my balance in full. Less than a hundred feet of leaving out the parking lot my check engine light was back on and problem still existed. Im thankful I caught it in time because it was a Friday and they are closed on weekends. So it would have been my word against there's when it came time with correcting the problem. When I arrived for pickup today, the shop stated they waived an additional $800 fee for a solenoid recalibration/replacement that was directly related to the timing chain work they had just performed. I feel strongly that this should have been included in the original service and not presented as an "extra" charge after I had already paid. To their credit, I really appreciated the friendliness of the two administrative assistants, who went above and beyond to help me. They provided me with a shuttle ride home when I dropped off my car, even paid for me an Uber to pick up the loaner vehicle, and made sure I had a loaner car for the month while mine was being repaired. Those accommodations meant a lot during a very long process. The shop also test drove my car for 40+ minutes before releasing it, and the check engine light has not come back on yet. I appreciate that they ultimately covered the $800 charge, but overall the experience left me questioning trust, timelines, and transparency. If you use this shop, know that while they will work with you and provide support, you'll need to ask a lot of questions, push back on extra fees, and keep good records. The repair seems to be holding for now, but the process was much more difficult and drawn out than it should have been.

Although I was informed that the upstream sensor was not currently failing, I was encouraged to replace both at the same time. I chose to replace only the downstream sensor since that was identified as the source of the issue. Approximately six days after the repair, the check engine light returned. When I contacted the shop, I was advised that the upstream O2 sensor would now need to be replaced at an additional cost of $404. When I asked whether there could be another underlying cause, I did not feel my questions were thoroughly addressed. I decided to seek a second opinion from another repair facility. They diagnosed the problem as an exhaust leak. After repairing the exhaust leak for $160, the check engine light has remained off and the issue has been resolved. I understand that automotive diagnostics can sometimes require further evaluation; however, I am disappointed that the original diagnostic did not identify the exhaust leak and that additional part replacements were recommended before the root cause was determined. Based on my experience with Toytech, I would advise others to consider obtaining a second opinion before authorizing further repairs.

I was definitely taking a chance with Exact and here is my experience: First Impressions: My brother recommended Exact when I was shopping around for brake repair a couple years ago. The shop is located on Johnson Drive, next to a new car wash. We dropped my car off right around 8:30. The shop is easy to miss if you aren't paying attention. Dillon was very welcoming and he confirmed what services I needed. The shop was nice and clean and Dillon was very organized. Communication: I appreciated the phone call before any service was done to my car. They allowed us time to decide what we wanted to do before continuing and Dillon was very understanding. He wasn't pushy like the dealerships and I didn't feel pressured to make any decisions. The price is nice: I did not get tires, as they were more expensive than I thought, but for an oil change and front brakes, my bill was a little over $200. Their prices on timing belt replacement and other maintenance work was way cheaper than the Acura dealership, which is impressive. Overall: I will be back. The pricing alone was it for me. Acura quoted me well over a grand for maintenance work, new tires, and brakes on my car. Dillon's prices were half of that, which I can handle. They do specialize in imports, so keep that in mind. The only down side was their tire prices, which are about the same amount as the dealer. I also appreciated the customer service and how genuine Dillon was.
