Went here for a routine inspection. they said it would take 30 minutes or so. after a 90 minute wait, they said "welllll there's a couple things we need to get taken care of before you can get passed" and slid me over an $1800 quote. the actual reason for failing the inspection is completely vague "excessive play" with no accompanying measurements. it appears strongly to me as a grift as I took it to a second mechanic who promptly passed the inspection the very next day. I got an inspection done, titling and tags installed on the car in less time than waiting for what clearly appears to be a grift here. I wouldn't even take my cars here now for air in the tires. read more

Wow, I thought I'd already reviewed Brian's. I've been using them for the last 3 or 4 years. It's possibly the best shop in the area, and in Kansas City. Infact, by far, it's the cleanest shop I've ever seen in my life, and the most thorough in car care. The type of car care they do is the type of care you'd get at the new car dealership. Expect to pay like you would at the place you bought your new car. But the price, they don't take advantage of you, nor do they look for things that are wrong and surprise you. He does my car maintenance, our car oil changes, our car repairs, and even found a car for my son who needed one that was affordable. I went to Brian's Car Care to get two new tires on my car. Let me first start by saying the customer service was excellent. The woman who worked behind the counter was very friendly and attentive to me. Brian was also friendly and very forward with me about my tire needs. I'm not from the area so I was under the impression I would need snow tires, which are pretty expensive. Brian told me it isn't really necessary to have snow tires in Kansas City, and a good winter tire would be cheaper and sufficient. Their prices were fair and this is a local business, so I am glad I spent my money here. I figured I might have to wait a bit while they worked on my car, so I brought homework, but it took less than an hour. An added bonus*they have an adorable, chubby, white dog who stays behind the counter. She is so friendly and is more than happy to get attention from customers! I highly recommend this place, and I'll definitely be using their services again for future car maintenance. read more

I don't really know what else there is to say aside from these are good people. I was having some brake issues with my Ford, so I called in and set up an appointment with Brian. I work kind of long hours, so convenience was important to me. Not only was I in and out in less time than I expected, but they were also super honest with me and told me what I needed done now, what I'll need done in the near future, and a few things that I'll need to take care of within the next 12 months or so. Money is always pretty tight, so I told them I really appreciated that. There are lots of places to go in and around Raytown, but I would definitely recommend Brian's Car Care. The staff was very friendly and I received responses promptly. My bill was more than I expected to pay, but I guess that is always true when you're dealing with cars. I feel like the staff was upfront with me and I appreciated that. I don't feel like I was taken advantage of because I am a female and that seems to happen often in this field. I hate nothing more than being pressured to fix things that can honestly wait. Overall I got a very good feeling from Brian's. I felt like I was talking to my dad. In Brian's e-mail he made a great point and I think it is probably what convinced me I was talking to the right place! "Brake pads are kind of like shoes, you can buy Keds or you can buy Nikes...you get what you pay for." I take pride in my shoes and they only cost a small fraction of what my brakes did, but I know I would never wear Keds. And I would never buy my shoes from Wally World. At the end of the day, I feel I can rest assured that the team at Brian's did a good job and the security knowing my brakes were done right by professionals that specialize in car repair is sometimes worth a little extra money. I should add, I called late on Monday dropped my Jeep off Monday night and by 3 on Tuesday my Jeep was ready to go! Even got a car wash well I guess that was probably the rain. :) They also have a frequent flyer card (Royalty Rewards). Always great when you can save money. I will be back! Recommend 100 times over. I originally called for pricing regarding a new ignition coil because a different shop told me I needed a new one. The gentleman, Mike, who answered the phone had great customer service and quoted me cheaper than the other shop so I made an appointment to get this fixed. I came in and was talking with the owner, Logan. He started working on my car and wanted to verify that the ignition coil was the issue I was having. He did a test and got multiple codes showing up that could be the issue. Instead of jumping to quoting me the price for all the codes, he reset the codes and drove the car around a bit waiting for the correct codes to pop back up. When they didn't, he gave the car back and told me to bring it back in when the codes show back up so he could then do the proper work. I brought it back in the next day and he noticed that there was a slight issue with my spark plugs. He fixed those (for free) and told me to come back if the issue still persisted. It did, so I came back in and got the car fixed for cheaper than expected. This place CARES about the customer and is not trying to sell unnecessary stuff to get you driving safely. There's also a coupon on yelp to get $25 off $50 or more. I completely forgot to use it! But that's okay, I'll keep it for next time! Thanks Logan and Mike! read more

Have taken two different vehicles there for inspection. Both cars they did not pass due to ridiculous reasons that for "$1400" they'd fix & then pass. One of the cars JUST passed inspection 5 months ago & hasn't been driven since due to the unexpected loss of the cars owner. read more
