The manager ERIC refused to take responsibility for there actions. They also changed my air filter and unplugged something in the process. I went in for an oil change before going to visit my dad in the hospital. They talked me into a transmission flush as well and long story short they put motor oil in the transmission. The only good part of this is an employee came to my house and told my wife what happened, who then called and told me. I went back and they flushed it and then I immediately had it checked at a real transmission shop, on my own dime as Valvoline refused to cover that expense as well. The transmission shop told me the damage was already done after the vehicle had been driven with the oil in the transmission. Valvoline is denying my claim because I can't prove they caused the damage. I guess they don't understand the damage that putting oil in a transmission causes... Stay away from this place Follow up from Valvoline: "Hello Brian, Thank you for reaching out to us in response to your recent review. Our records indicate that the management team spoke to you earlier today and advised your claim has been denied. Customer Care does stand behind the management teams decision. So the customer service to the review was fast. I went to the Mazda parts department and find out the Valvoline store didn't even reinstall the correct hardware. The bolts were wrong and I was missing two plunger type retainers. How does it go so bad at one place the guy in the pit doesn't even put back what he removes or say " hey this doesn't look right and I haven't even started the job?" The picture tells the story. This is a pretty solid place for an oil change. My technician (can't remember his name) was polite and knowledgeable. They got me in and out in less time than if I'd gone to my dealership, but it was definitely longer than the 15 minutes they advertise. I was a little surprised by the price and probably won't go back for that reason. Maybe it's the price of convenience, but again, it took them twice as long as they said it would. They do seem to have coupons and deals all the time which brings the price down some. I also can't recommend any other service than the oil change. read more

Besides the time they replaced my transmission fluids and didnt reconnect the hose or valve or whatever and it all leaked out and I got a speeding ticket trying to high tail it back down here, there have been minimal issues. They are usually pretty quick. Just stick with oil changes...nothing too complex. As of the first of the year they no longer offer the early bird special so bring your coupons. read more

The staff here at the Wornall location are FANTASTIC. They've always been honest and good to me and are SUPER quick!

Super easy and pain-free. There is a drive through garage for oil changes and such. You sit in the car while they take care of everything. They check all your lights and signals as well as your fluids and filters. They'll give you a brief recommendation on maintenance for your car (replacing filters, rotating tires etc) but are NOT pushy at all with sales which I always appreciate. Turns out my rear reverse light was out and they replaced it for me ($15). I suppose I could have replaced it myself for cheaper, but it involved removing some paneling to access the light and frankly was well worth paying someone else $15 to do. After the tech was done changing my oil he brought me my dipstick to show me that the oil was clean and filled to the top. Honestly as a young woman who knows very little about cars I get nervous going to auto garages, worried that I'm easy to take advantage of (you hear stories of people ripping you off, not actually changing your oil and such) but everything felt very legitimate, up front, and honest. Louis was the tech who helped me and was very kind and professional. He surprised me by giving me a $15 discount (which covered the cost of my light replacement) because I waited in line a bit longer than usual due to the car in front of me having an unexpected issue they had to resolve. All in all a very positive first experience. I will definitely return for future maintenance needs! read more

I would give this place no stars, if I could. I was told that my truck wouldn't start after the oil change, and that even jump-starting it yielded no results. They said that they were going to have to "push my car into the lot to be towed." The battery was tested by the technician, and I was informed that it must be "my starter or something." That was very stressful to learn. As it turned out, the technician didn't know that my vehicle was a manual transmission (hard to miss a stick shift, staring you in the face). Plus, don't they receive a modicum of education on automobile basics? The "manager" (who seems ill-suited to the position) got huffy and made comments under her breath when I expressed my surprise at an auto technician not knowing if a vehicle is manual or automatic. The entire staff appeared to be aged 22, at the oldest. They gathered around to listen to our conversation, even making noises like, "Ooooh!" (Very professional...) I have put up with the attempts at selling me services that my truck doesn't need for the convenience of a quick oil change. My wife and I dropped off both of our cars and walked to QT (right next door) for a coffee and by the time we got back (6 mins?) they were done with both of our cars! Holy cow! I have serviced my car at this location ever since I began my academic journey at Avila University. Every single time that I have had my oil changed here, it has NEVER taken longer than twenty minutes! Also, the employees are both friendly and do not try to sell you those additional 'add-ons' like so many other "Oil Change" businesses do. I hope that wherever I go in this life or a proposed epilogue one, there will be a Valvoline to change my oil and perform minor service repairs like they do here! I chose this location for my safety inspection because I had been so impressed with the service a year ago when I had my oil changed. Andrew, however, was not the manager then. I waited in line more than an hour as many other cars were serviced. ( BTW, there is no way to get out of the service line once you are in it. ) Andrew explained that oil changes take preference over safety inspections. Do not go to this location! I took my vehicle in for a routine oil change, and, somehow, they managed to nearly destroy my engine. You would think that a business that specializes in oil changes would know how to perform an oil change. I left the location and my engine started to seize up less than one block from the store. After some research and eventually one of their customer service representatives coming to my office, it was determined that the oil was never drained, however, they did add oil. Your engine should have 6.6 quarts of oil in it. I had 14 quarts. Had I not caught it in time, my engine would have been completely ruined. Now... I don't know if I'm driving a ticking time bomb or if my engine is ruined. Fantastic. Do not go to the location. read more

The employees were very friendly but they just tried to sell entirely too much for me. They tried to sell me a tire rotation and I just had them rotated about a month ago. Lifesavers!! We had our AC serviced 3days ago and they said it was warrantied. As soon as we left on our road trip it was only blowing hot air. Well day one okay windows down but day two St Louis to Kansas City was unbearable. Searched for a Valvoline and we found this location. They made it work and saved our over heated dogs. They fixed a small valve, not sure if it was part of the service or not but it worked. They are lifesavers no charge for the fix and let us take our time cooling and watering the dogs. I recently moved back in town. I had used this location for oil changes previous years so when it was time for my car to get an oil change this is where I came. I pulled up around noon during a weekday (not busy). There were already 2 cars being worked on so I knew there would be a short wait, which I was OK with. Since it had been a few years since I had used this location I wasn't sure whether their way of things had changed - should I stay in the car & wait for someone to get my dets, or park it & wait inside the lobby (it was cold out). I opted to wait in my car thinking that at any min someone would come out to get my info (like had been the custom previous years). Several mins later someone finally came out to ask why I was there, & said that the car in front of me would be done in a few mins so I was good to pull up behind it 'til they were done, then she left w/o saying anything else. I thought leaving without getting info on my car was a little weird but whatevs - I thought she wouldn't be gone for more than a few mins. About 10-15 minutes later, no one had come out to say anything. I'm still waiting in my car, people inside can clearly see there is someone waiting. The car in front didn't even look like it had been started to get worked on. There were at least 8-9 people inside walking around, anyone could've come out to get my information or at least tell me "hey, it's okay to wait inside where it's warm." I got tired of waiting w/o any kind of update or sign that anyone cared that I was waiting, turned around and left. Communication goes a LONG way, guys. I ended up at another Valvoline location where I was greeted the second my car pulled up despite only 2 guys manning that location, both with a car being worked on. I was in and out within 20 mins.
