The way the receptionist handled that situation was quite masterful in customer service; polite and respectful but not letting him get away with that.

Once I received my hearing aids, there was very minimal instruction as to use and maintainance at the time of acceptance. My right hearing aid has been problematic at least 3 times in the first year. This resulted in only office staff adjustments per their experts. Just over 1 year of use my right hearing aid quit working or charging. I brought both hearing aids and charger to be checked out. No log in of equipment or signage of release. 1- 1/2 weeks later I phoned for an update. Very rudely the receptionist, Charlene, informed me "I told you I will get back to you when it is ready!" I also asked to speak with her supervisor. Charlene said "Lilly" is rarely in the office and was very busy with meetings. I requested she have "Lilly" call me. After 3 weeks I am still waiting. They offer "loaner" hearing aids with a charger when available. They thought the left hearing aid and charger that they gave me were mine--but they were not even the same color! The loaners did not work so I returned them the next day. No log or signage upon return either. 4-5 days later I showed up to office very frustrated. A MIRACLE--they had my right hearing aid! No left one and offered me a NEW charger since they couldn't locate mine. At 3 weeks+ I am still waiting for them to locate and return my left hearing aid!! I am also still waiting for "Lilly" to find 5 minutes in her extremely busy schedule to call me back! For the high cost expended for these hearing aids, one would expect better quality and service from this office.

I went here because I had coverage thru Kaiser than put $1,000 toward the cost. The hearing aids were uncomfortable so I did not use them. Finally determined that I really needed hearing aids because my hearing was deteriorating significantly, and went back with comfort as the sole issue. Twice. Their response was to try to sell me newer aids with Bluetooth. It made no sense to upgrade until I could use the ones I had already paid a $4,000 for in addition to what Kaiser paid. I persisted, and Hear USA's solution was to give me a new piece that went into my ears. It was more comfortable, but I couldn't exercise or do other activities because was too small. I later learned that it was a child's earpiece. I also learned that I have unusually small ear canals, with one smaller than the other. How did learn this? Because I went to a new hearing aid place that took a mould of my ears, which is what Hear USA should have done when I first told them I was having a problem with discomfort. Hear USA apparently works on a commission basis - at least another HearUSA that I went to did. They only apparently sell one brand. But the bottom line is that they don't care. They're like car salesmen. If you have standard ears they may work for you. But don't expect them to be interested in handling anything else. I did end up paying more for hearing aids somewhere else. A better brand, albeit without Hear USA's bulk buy lower prices from the hearing aid manufacturer. But the major thing that is better is that the new place actually cares how the hearing aids work for me. And now I know for future reference what Hear USA should have done and didn't with regard to fitting. I should add that I filed a grievance with Kaiser, and Hear USA said they would reach out and do something more - as I recall, it may have been to make moulds. But they didn't. Not a word. As I recall, they told Kaiser that they didn't mention the possibility of taking a mould because they thought giving me the new ear piece would work. They also told Kaiser things in response to my grievance that were inconsistent with my recollection. I gave them two stars because I did receive hearing aids and the tests they ran appeared to be competent, but I would never go back again, no matter what they offered. read more
