This is our first and last time visiting this restaurant. I don't think they brought out the A-team on a Monday afternoon. We sat down and maybe two minutes later, the waitress asked if we were ready to order ... which you can imagine we weren't. The waitress was very "rushed" with us even though there wasn't a lot of tables filled at the time of our meal. The food also came out really fast after ordering--maybe 5-10 minutes. The spring rolls were not well-done--the rice paper was rubbery and the majority of the content were undercooked noodles, three pieces of shrimp, and barely noticeable vegetables. The peanut sauce was showered with so much peanuts that you couldn't get to the actual sauce portion. The wrapping on the fried dumplings were also very rubbery and weirdly seasoned. The chicken curry was salty in my opinion but my husband said it was "okay." The decor might be the only thing alluring to this place. There seems to be a lot of history on the walls, alluding that things might have been better a decade ago. I honestly recommend going to Panda Express for your Chinese food kick rather than go to this place; but maybe our first time was a fluke because I do see some positive comments. Used to go here when I was little and decided to go back since I live close by.. Just as good as I remember.. Dine in is much better than take out/delivery. I have ordered take-out many times trying to hope for a better experience, however the food is consistently sub-par for take-out. We often order sweet & sour chicken, and the chicken is often over done and too tough to even chew. The dine-in experience, however, is good in a "dive-y" sort of way. read more

I have lived on 120th ever since I was five years old. When we "discovered" this place I was 12. It used to be my favorite spot. My cousin would literally drive down from Aurora to come and eat here. With that said I feel like I can judge the quality of the food by now. It has for sure gone down the drain. Sometimes the food is overcooked or under cooked. One time I bit into my eggroll and it was sour. The waiters act like they hate having you there. They don't offer straws, are stingy about to go napkins, and don't offer basic kindness. They tack on the tip to the final bill because they know they aren't going to get one. They are outdated with design, people don't want to see your dusty TV hanging in the corner anymore, or the same table décor you always have had. When you slam drinks down at the end of the table of course people are going to flinch and be bothered by it. I know this has been a long-standing family owned restaurant but honestly I've been to friendlier, modern, inexpensive spots that udnerstand that times are changing and you actually have to work to retain your clients. read more

Well first off the this review is not about food, because for the most part it's very good, just well prepared Americanized Chinese dish's, the reason why I am rating this a one star is simply on service. The servers are rude, acting like they could care less whether or not you enjoy your experience, they don't check on you, it's even difficult to get a water refill here, I can't say I won't come back, because there one server who is rarely here, but he does a good job, but any other time, it's mediocre at best. read more

Pseudo Chinese food is a good way to describe this place. At least the food is decent, and for the area that says alot. . If you added all the Chinese restaurants together in Denver, Heaven Dragon would be in the upper 50%. What I love about this place is its owner! He's a great guy and he serves the community well! We have never had a bad meal here. It has always been consistently clean, fast, delicious and at a reasonable price. I have been getting take-out from here for over 20 years. It was smaller and located at the other end of the strip mall way back then. I have recently started getting the Twice Cooked Pork and I have to say I never knew how good that dish could be. Usually Twice Cooked Pork is heavy with bell peppers, onions & cabbage. Here they use less of those to make room for miniature corn, black mushrooms, sliced squash, bamboo shoots, etc. plus lots of pork. I think the dish is much better this way. Dan, the owner, has always been very friendly and will say hi even if you are just getting take-out. Only once have I had a problem when about a month ago the take-out orders got mixed up and a few of us had to get them corrected. I saw someone new at the front register so I am going to say it was just due to that, but give 1 person the wrong order and you get a domino effect. read more

Overrated. Not nearly as fresh as United. All their dishes taste the same. Do yourself a favor and go 8 blocks north to 128th and Colorado. Only cool thing about this place is the owner, Dan Tang, was involved in the largest home marijuana growing operations in the North Metro Denver history. lol read more

Again, WOW! What the H are these people complaining about? I have been eating at Dan's place since 1990. It was really slow getting your order back then, but they were not open for business that long. I even got the wrong orders a few times but the service was always exceptional. Just like a few people said the sesame chicken can not be beat in the Mile High City! Neither I nor any of my 50+ family has had better anywhere! Dan always comes out and greets the customers during dinner. The rest of the food that we have had there (hunan beef, pork/chicken in garlic sauce etc.) were always great. The food is decent. The prices are equivalent to other equally decent Asian restaurants in the area. However, the service is horrendous. Very very unfriendly people, offensively so. The restaurant itself is shabby and filthy. Once this place was really great but it needs a total remodel and attitude changes to how they treat customers. With all the other Asian restaurants that have open ed in the area that have superior food, cleaner environment, and friendly staff, I suggest to take a chance and try something new and leave this place in the past where it belongs!!!! read more

I like eating here, the food is good and they give you a lot of it. The owner is friendly and always stops by the tables to talk to the diners. I tried take out one night but I wasn't impressed, less food and didn't seem as tasty. If you are going to eat here, definitely go in. read more

Lunch is the deal, much cheaper then dinner. Good "basic" chinese dishes, at lunch you get soup, an eggroll, rice, your entree and a crab wonton. Dinner curtails the extras and is more expensive. Service can be spotty depending upon your server, it ranges from really good to pretty slow. Generally worth the while though. read more

Dan Tang was spankin' it last night! Bf and I went out for Chinese -which 49 out of 50 times means Heaven Dragon, up here in Thornton-Land. We felt sassy and ordered a Volcano mixed drink: served in a fishbowl-type dealie with bizarre-looking women formed on the side with a flaming shot-a-something in the middle and 2 24" straws- sassy indeed! Effin' sweet, but uber-sassy. We usually order the House dinner, which for $10.75/person serves soup, egg roll, cheese wanton and an entree (up to $9.50 in cost) to each person. If there is a desired entree above $9.50 the House dinner may still be ordered at a slight additional charge. Good value when we're looking to get our China-grub on. BF ordered Kung Pao shrimp which was in fine form, and I ordered beef in hot garlic sauce, extra spicy, which rang the exact bell I was wanting rung. Our server was attentive without the annoying hovering that makes me crazy, and as usual our entrees appeared in very short order. The music was augmented with the shrieking of a child, the only real downer since the child seemed to have only one volume and also seemed to have hearing-impaired parents. Yes, the food is seriously Americanised, but for immigrants this can be sought as a sign of acceptance into their new community and I'm fine with the flavour. Yes, the lobby is chock-full of owner Dan Tang's photo collection of Republican politicians, but it's a schnazzy collection for any one person, and I would expect this show from any suburban business owner. It's not in keeping with my political views, but that's also not the point of my visits to Heaven Dragon, and the sights while dining are nonpolitical and quirky. The only thing missing from our meal was the visit by Mr Tang himself, as he often works his way through the dining room, stopping for a brief chat or introduction at each table. All told, another tasty evening at Heaven Dragon. Yes, I'll go back again and again. Sometimes it'll be "on," and sometimes not, but if you gots an itch for ha-ha Chinese, let Dan Tang's crew see you through. read more

Their food is amazing! The egg drop soup is like any other in Colorado, the quality of the restaurant is high class. But when adding everything together you miss out on one key component, customer service. Clean place great food but a lack of customer service dooms this place and for that I can't always recommend this as a high class restaurant. I had a late lunch last week at the restaurant. Unfortunately when I left, I forgot my smartphone on the table. I realized 10 minutes later & returned to find that the phone was gone and no one seemed to know anything about it. It was a slow afternoon and the few other tables around me were still eating. I was just sure they had it, but they said that the busser did not see it and they did not know what happened to it. After spending the next couple hours running around buying a new phone, calling the restaurant back and a 2nd visit they still had no idea. My husband then goes in demanding my phone and the OWNER produces it and says he just found it under the table. Seriously?? That phone was not under the table. I looked twice and the staff had looked twice as well. Very disappointing!! Isn't this the same guy who was convicted of an illegal marijuana grow operation a couple years ago?? Shame on you! Oh happy yelp! The food is good & plenty& HOT, service is wonderful, the decor is very nice & there is Chinese music in the background- you really do forget your in a strip mall! For 12.50pp you get soup, an egg roll, a crab wonton, an entree & fortune cookie. It's a pretty sweet deal!
