    Pesto sandwich
    Amanda V.

Stopped here for a quick bite to eat and a coffee. I was enticed by the super high Yelp reviews and the cute aesthetics of the food truck. Husband and I got the pesto sandwiches and a latte. Sandwiches were okay; they were smothered in a very salty yellow sauce that had a hint of pesto. They were also quite small and weren't really memorable. The chicken was deli meat, and there were a few pieces of arugula. Latte was good; I think Starbucks would have been better for just a latte. Admittedly, I did not try one of the cool and creative drinks like "Bad Apple", which would probably have been better if I felt like something sweet. Menu did not have vegetarian sandwiches, prices were a bit high, and sandwich was oozing with way too much sauce for me to give this 5 stars. Service was friendly, though.

First timer; found it on Yelp. This is a quick, coffee and food pull thru spot. Service at the window was great, I ordered the Mo'Joe part bc of the "Mo" and second bc it was recommended : ) Pesto was different but delicious. I will be back!

This is about as close as you can get to my favorite drive-thru in Palmer, while still being in Anchorage, Elwoods Drive Thru: https://www.yelp.com/biz/elwoods-drive-thru-palmer This place is a drive thru coffee shack, but it's really so much more. They have grab-and-go sandwiches that are much more than just the microwaved, freezer-aisle sandwiches of so many other coffee shacks in town. They are inventive, delicious, and made with care! To top it all off their Americanos are mighty strong! Only thing keeping it from 5 stars is that the service and be mighty poky. If you're in a hurry, it's probably best to try somewhere else.

Very friendly, big drink menu... sufficient baked good selection from another local bakery. They are able to make a proper breve with heavy whipping cream - love this. They were perhaps a little heavy handed on the steaming as cups were hot to touch. But I do realize this is a personal preference. Skip the chansons support the local joints!

I love their mustache theme :)

Garrett and his husband bought and took over Kingfisher Coffee that used to be at this location. They live in Spenard as well so it's nice to meet fellow neighbors! They were all very friendly and kind :) I absolutely love their marketing style on social media and their specials have really drawn me in, so today I went and took advantage of their small business special. ($20 gc purchase and a free 12oz drink) They have two drive up windows and it's very easy to get in and out. I also love the murals they commissioned on each side of their building. The fireweed/flowers/bee is my particular favorite. Today I tried the Noggy or Nice which is espresso, rum syrup, eggnog, whipped cream and nutmeg. It is incredibly unique and satisfying on this snowy day. Next on my list is Santa's Beard or the Spenard Fog. They offer other coffee shack items from lattes, mochas, doppio, Red Bull smoothies, frappes, etc. They also have some food items available that while I didn't sample today, I would like to in the future. Their options sound much tastier and fresher than a soggy croissant ham and cheese microwaved like other nearby shack offerings. The brekkie bagel sounded amazing - ham, cheddar, egg crepe w/ Dijon on an everything bagel They also had a few lunch options! Stop by. Try a unique mix. Ask for a suggestion! Get to know your local shops, they need us the most right now.

I love these Alaskan drive-thru coffee shops! Convenient and so good. There's so many different varieties here, I had a hard time deciding which to get. Ended up getting the Spenard Fog, becaues I love london fogs, and it did not disappoint! Had an interesting spice twist to it! The guy was super helpful and offered some sggestions and recs too. located right on spenard street. Would definitely visit again on my next visit.

Stopped by today because I needed caffeine and someone recommended this place. Honestly I'm pretty picky about coffee. I got the pumpkin pie latte and I think I saw heaven. Not only was the latte outstanding, perfectly sweet but not overly sweet, but the service was also outstanding. You can tell they really love to make these drinks and the attention to detail is something you just genuinely don't see. Try it out you won't be disappointed!

Spenard Joe's is so much more than the average coffee cart. Their drinks are gourmet and innovative, with options like Turmeric dirty Chai (my favorite) and Lavender honey lattes. You won't find any microwaved croissants here. Their sandwiches are artisanal status. The brekkie bagel and turkey sandwich are my go to's. Hands down this is my favorite coffee cart in town to grab a quick cup of Joe and a quality bite to eat.

Stopped by today and had the Spenard Fog, amazing!! This is a bit out of my way, but it's so worth it. I'll be back again soon to try some of these other amazing sounding specialty drinks.

    Americano with oat milk. Perfection!

It's just a cute place to vibe at and be around the community. There is a coffee shop, plant shop, juice shop and small market in the same building which makes it worth the stop. The seasonal ginger bread chia tea from the coffee shop is like Christmas in your mouth. The turkey sandwich is like thanksgiving with cranberry sauce and pecans. The sweet potato burban cupcake was actually to die for. The cake was moist with a carm filling of pecans and bourbon topped with a light cream cheese frosting. I'm never disappointed with fire island. A jem in anchorage.

The sausage was good though, and a bit salty, which might have balanced the seasoning in this item but the chunks were too few and big to be balanced. - messy egg salad sandwich: a lot of dill, heavy on the pickled flavor, and good red onion crunch. This was just ok. It looked better than it tasted, unless you're a fan of dill. Mainly got this sandwich to try their bread but the bread was an afterthought. - maple rhubarb muffin: hard pass. Can't taste the rhubarb and barely any maple. The bottom also was more burnt than anything. It seems they may have over mixed their batter, muffin didn't have a tender crumb.

Leer (sorry if I'm spelling that wrong!) has been absolutely amazing each time--so kind and welcoming--and the same goes for the other cashiers and cooks. The whole team creates such a positive vibe from the moment you walk in. My go-to meal? The chicken, mac & cheese, and waffle loaded with cookie butter, strawberries, blueberries, and bananas. On my very first visit, they asked what flavors I liked, and I told them "sweet and savory"--and they nailed it. Ever since then, it's been my regular. I always think about trying something new, but I can't help coming back for that combo--it's just that good. Today, Leer mentioned they were exploring opening new locations, and I told her Fort Worth would absolutely love a place like this. With the owner being a veteran and Fort Worth having such a strong military community, I know people there would rally behind it. We love supporting our own. Also, if you really listen, the music playing in the background is all original--and every track tells a story about the restaurant's culture, energy, and mission. That level of intention just makes the experience even more special. All in all: great people, great food, great energy. Hopefully we'll meet again in Fort Worth! Editing to add a BIG shoutout to the man running the window that food gets picked up from. I saw him let a customer (who looked like he was wearing a kufi) know that the Mac n cheese was cooked in bacon grease. The customer was unaware of this and was grateful and changed his order. That kind of cultural awareness and honesty shows that place isn't just about great food--it's about heart.
