    Cookies.
    Mike R.

I had to go revisit this location again yesterday just to be sure. Hadn't been here in years if at all and the visit was prompted by a discussion in a Facebook group I belong to. People were raving (mostly) about the Snickerdoodles at Iverson Mall and somebody talked about these cookies here too. Funny thing, is I go to the embroidery shop immediately around the corner all the time and I walk into this very entrance and pass these cookies pretty regularly and have never been inspired to order any until yesterday. Nothing like the smell of warm cookies in the mall. Any mall. Shades of Cinnabon in the food court in some malls. You smell them before you see them. Somebody in the Facebook group told me I "must be silly" to not agree that they're the best cookies in the world. *rolls eyes* Anyway.... I got 3 snickerdoodle, 2 butter crunch, and 2 chocolate walnut. Chocolate Walnut isn't as good as Mrs Fields. Not nearly as rich tasting. They weigh these cookies by the pound so seven cookies cost me $6 + change. The Verdict: The snickerdoodle needs more cinnamon sugar. The winner is the butter crutch - which hearkens identically of Linden Butter Crunch Cookies, only softer.... Which a friend of mine from Jersey turned me onto a few years back. I think they ate them in middle school growing up in NJ/NYC or something. Very good cookies. I'll continue to order the butter crunch going forward.

I know I'm probably eating a stick of butter, but I genuinely don't care because these cookies are so yummy and a treat. The chocolate chip bucket is the way to go, you'll eat 5 before you make it to the car. My favorite are the M&M sugar.

The cake is made by Heavens Bakery, $120. All other treats around the cake were bought separately by another baker.

This bakery is a staple in the community! Literally. The cookies, specifically the snicker doodles are to die for! Their custom cakes are beyond affordable and the cake is actually good! For cake orders, you can order within the week, 3 days notice at the latest! Amazing. They do a really good job at custom cakes. I recently ordered a cake for a baby shower cost totaled $120.

    Snickerdoodle Cookies

Whenever you're in the area and are in the mood for some moist, warm and buttery snickerdoodle cookies visit Heaven's Bakery in Forestville Mall. They have ample parking, and closest to the entrance. You won't be disappointed. Go and check them out!! They've been in business since I was a kid so they're doing something right.

Drove an hour to Heaven's Bakery to get a few buckets of their Snickerdoodle cookies which they are known for

Drove an hr to see what the hype was about and I was not disappointed... the amount of butter in these cookies is a great sin!!! They melt in your mouth!! Definitely a must try!!

Smh...bucket of the most delicious cookies ha!

I actually forgot about this place! Long time ago when I lived in DC I used to get these cookies at Iverson Mall but recently discovered they were HERE, in Forestville Mall! Omg, WHYYYYYYYYYYY did I have to rediscover this lol! Everything, I mean EVERYTHING that I have tasted has been phenomenal! They do much more than cookies, they have cakes, brownies, cheesecakes, bars, etc. Now I have not tried everything yet, but I promise you, you will be ADDICTED to these delectable treats. The cookies are crispy on the outside and soft middles, like you want to slowly eat them in bed or something , mmm! (don't do that!). My faves are the butter crunch, oatmeal raisin, peanut butter and coconut pecan I'm not a real big fan of chocolate chip but I know they're good too. Haven't tried snickerdoodle bc they look like plain sugar cookies but supposedly those are the best sellers Cookies are sold by the pound, I can't tell if that is more expensive or not but they are certainly worth it! You get a bucket if you spend $15 and that gives you one dollar off each time you bring your bucket back. How can you resist??!! They know what they're doing haha! I'll be back when I visit my fam in DC Oh! One more thing...that strawberry cheesecake is to die for! So smooth and creamy, dreamy.....

Best cake, cookies and cupcakes around been coming here for years would definitely recommend this establishment

This is a busy bakery for some good reasons. Speedy service, good quality desserts and very affordable prices. My wife and I bought brownies, chocolate chip cookies, snickerdoodles and butter crunch cookies. The brownie had a chocolate frosting. Brownies are classified as bar cookies. The cookie part was dark chocolate in flavor. My wife didn't like it because she doesn't like dark chocolate. I thought it was fine. It was a slightly chewy brownie with a texture between a fudge brownie and a cake brownie. The chocolate chip cookies were soft and moist throughout. Perfectly good cookie. The size of this cookie along with all the others was 2.5 inches in diameter or a little larger. The snickerdoodles were lightly crisp on the edge and slightly chewy in the center. It had great texture. It had a mild flavor of vanilla and butter. The cinnamon was lacking. Maybe someone forgot to roll the dough in cinnamon sugar. The cinnamon is an important part of this cookie. The butter crunch cookies were lightly crispy on the edge and slightly chewy in the center. The cookie tasted like a mix between the chocolate chip cookie and the snickerdoodle. The taste was good, but the toffee was lacking in flavor. The toffee pieces were very soft and tiny. The toffee is an important part of this cookie. If they can improve on the important parts of these cookies, they could be great. The price for cookies is by weight. There is a price for a quarter pound, a half pound, 3/4 pound and a pound. The brownies were priced per piece. You get a lower price per piece if you buy two. The prices are low compared to other bakeries for fresh made pastries and cookies. Give them a visit if you're in the area.

My go to spot for all my events. I like the fact that they don't use fondant because when you get it in colors the taste isn't pleasant at all. You dream it and they can make it they will always be my first second and third choice when it comes to a good looking as well as great tasting cake you've gotta go to them

    What I asked for
    Lee J.

So the 1st pic is what I asked for and the 2nd pic is what I got. Went back recently to get a basic cake made because the decor sucks and had the most unprofessional little girl attempt to take my order. She says since I'm in a rush and have an attitude she's not gonna take my order. Really SMH no honey you lack professionalism and have no clue how to treat customers. I've spent hundreds of dollars every year at this place and to get such treatment Uhhh NO imma keep it 100% Black. Never Again and FYI keep the cookies covered because roaches were walking all over them.

    Lemonade "Regular"

Everything is amazing per usual except my lemonade I ordered a regular and received a small cup. I verified with the young lady who rung me up and she confirmed that this is the new regular. My sister ordered maybe 10 mins after me and received what I remember as the regular. Both taste different. So that's the only downsize to my order.. just would be awesome if things were consistent with all of your customers.

Beach themed cake (I smudged the writing) :-(

We do not have one where I live, so I naturally get excited every time I'm near one, and I make it my mission to stop and get a slushie. I traditionally get the lemon slush or the lime slush. But unbeknownst to me, Sonic redid their menu. Since there isn't one close to my house, I had to update the app and sign back in. Then I tried to order my usual drink, but because it had been more than 90 days since my last visit, my previous order was gone. So I started looking through the menu, only to realize the lemon frozen slush and the lime frozen slush were no longer there. I literally spent over 30 minutes sitting in the Sonic stall scrolling through the app because you have to order through it to get the half-price slushes. Now they have these new slushes with some type of tea concentrate, and I already know I don't like green tea. I didn't want to risk paying for something I probably wouldn't enjoy, especially since there wasn't an option to sample it. So I opened my Maps app to see what was nearby. That's when I noticed that a young lady I'd been following on Instagram had her Italian ice shop close by. I thought, "Oh my goodness!" It was less than a mile away, so I drove over to Killa Italian Ice & Smoothie and picked up some lemonade and a slice of cake. After that, I thought, "Let me see what other small businesses I can support while I'm over here." I wasn't really interested in any of the other food options because they were things I could already get in Woodbridge. So I searched for bakeries and found Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, just a short drive away. I walked in, and to my surprise, they had a full restaurant menu in addition to their baked goods. Let me tell you, these people were so amazingly welcoming the moment I walked in. "Hey, sis!" "Hi, welcome!" I immediately felt at home, and I honestly haven't felt that way in an establishment in a very long time. I ended up telling the young lady behind the register about my whole Sonic adventure, and she said, "Well, let me let you try my chicken curry salad." Now, I didn't have the heart to tell her that I don't like chicken salad, so I said, "Okay." Let me tell you...that chicken curry salad was banging. I was like, "Oh wow. This is good." As we kept talking, I looked over the menu and realized I didn't want my usual comfort foods like pizza, collard greens, or macaroni. I wanted to try something different. So I ordered their Chicken with Attitude with rice and cabbage. The chicken had a Middle Eastern rustic flavor. It was roasted, incredibly tender, and unlike anything I'd had before. It's definitely a different taste and probably an acquired one, but I really enjoyed it. Although I'd only had that sample of the chicken curry salad, it was so good that I ordered half a pound of it to take home, along with a piece of pound cake. Like I said at the beginning, I DO NOT EAT chicken salad, but it completely surprised me. But beyond the food, they brought me a complimentary lemonade while I was sitting there eating. It tasted so fresh, like freshly squeezed lemon with other fresh fruit over ice. It was absolutely delicious and refreshing. Everywhere throughout the restaurant were little signs about genuine kindness. The whole place just felt welcoming. Being from Alabama, I grew up with Southern hospitality. You make eye contact, greet people, and make them feel at home. That's not meant to discredit businesses in DC, Maryland, or Virginia. This area is a melting pot of people from all over the world, and culturally, not everyone expresses hospitality the same way. But when I walked into Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes, every single person embodied that welcoming spirit. It wasn't just one employee. It was the people behind the counter, the people coming out of the kitchen, and even those arriving for work. I just remember thinking, "Wow." I felt safe. I felt welcomed. I felt wanted. I felt at home. I felt like family. More than the food, I felt like I had found my tribe. I found my village. I honestly wish I lived closer because, if I did, I'd probably be there every day. Since moving to this area in 2009, that's the feeling I've been missing. If I could recommend Sweet Tooth Cafe & Cakes a million times over, it wouldn't just be because of the food. It would be because of the sense of belonging. It's that feeling of walking into a place where everybody knows your name, even when they don't. If you're going through something, this is the place to go. Not just to feed your belly, but to feed your soul.

I've never been to a Mexican bakery, or really had much authentic Mexican food available to me, but we'd been staying in the area for a few weeks. One day after a very long morning, we saw this bakery and made the very rookie move of walking in absolutely starving. Neither of us had the other to talk us down, we grabbed a tray and just started piling things onto it. We managed to stop ourselves at six pastries, but still with a sense of remorse, not having planned on spending so much money on baked goods. They rang us up and charged us $11.12. We walked out of there with a bag about as heavy as any meal we'd ordered wondering if they've made a mistake or if these are just garbage pastries we just bought. The pricing just felt unrealistically low for what we got. We took the goods home and ate them throughout the day, and into the next. Not a single complaint. In fact, why is this place seemingly not so big a deal? I think we made a scene with our excitement as we walked in and made a few laps, deciding what to get. We went to a lot of places and found a lot of great food while in the area, but I think this place was the most exciting find. We left on Easter Sunday, and figured we'd give the place a try. They were open! This time we knew we'd never have another shot at this place so we went all out. Ten pastries (each one better than the last), two tamales, freaking $15.48. We absolutely fail to see what the not-so-big deal is about this place. Maybe it's par for the course for the area, or for Mexican bakeries in general. But if all you know is $2-3 per item starting price for mediocre baked goods, make sure to stop here while you're in the area and go nuts.
