Come on guys. I usually get 3 jelly and 3 lemon donuts when I go to one in Haverhill MA. I have been going there for years now. Up to now was no problem. I went there on 5/23/2205 and there was a problem. One they didn't put them in a box as usual. Instead they put them in a bag. Two, both the jelly and the lemon filled donuts were stale and this was around 10:00am in the morning. In other words I was given yesterdays donuts. I want value if I am paying over $12 for 6 donuts. come on guys. read more

A true Haverhill institution, they are so consistently great that we often take them for granted. Gourmet donut shops seem to be having a moment right now, but the $4 a piece brioche donuts topped with breakfast cereal or some other ridiculous condiment can´t hold a candle to a Heav´nly cake donut or a Manager´s Special. Whenever I have a meeting, I bring a bakers dozen (yup, they are old school & give you 13), everyone loves them and I actually get requests to bring them again! I am not a coffee drinker, so I can´t comment on that but I can tell you that in addition to the donuts, they have amazing breakfast sandwiches...especially the ones served on a Portuguese sweet roll. I go out of my way to go to any of heavnly's over the other (nameless shops). But this one in Bradford ma (Haverhill) not tops in my book. I get the cups of hard boiled eggs at every other store and never get them still in shell. Get a mile away to take a bite to my surprise in shell still. I go back and was told that is the way all stores sell them lol (not true). It's take out prepared food it's not customer prepared for themselves. What's next we get the ice and milk in separate cups and do it ourselves. read more

Very disappointed, this was a go to place for large muffins at a reasonable price now they are half the size and 25% more in price. Muffins also have half the ingredients my cranberry orange mufin had 2 cranberries in it. Must be a new owner or a money grab by the current owner but i will no longer be going out of my way to get muffins here again. Never thought I'd say it but Panera bread is cheaper than heavenly for bagels. Heavenly charges you $1 for butter yes butter which is insulting $3 for a Bagel with butter /Panera under $2 with butter. I will start by saying that my favorite doughnut is the manager special doughnut. It is glazed with vanilla frosting in the middle. The workers are kind and helpful, and work hard to keep their customers safe during this time. Although they have always kept their establishment a clean and inviting atmosphere. Students spend early mornings drinking a warm cup of coffee or tea waiting for the bus, the elderly and the like spend the early evening relaxing and chatting. If you have any questions or requests they are there to help. Most of the staff have worked at this location for some time so they tend to know the regulars that frequent. Since I always order the same things although I order a ham and cheese on croissant ( which may confuse them since most people order with egg included) they always remember my order. I tend to be alittle clumsy and cloud headed when it comes to money and making decisions but they never get annoyed or short with me. If I were to choose a relaxing place to go to I would choose here. It has a similar atmosphere to a café. It's quaint and cozy with a nice window seating view. And plenty of table seating ( currently not available due to the current health situation) most of their items have less calories then Dunkin's which is nice to know since there's one right down the street from this location. I noticed they also have a few gluten free options. You'll find a nice variety to choose from whether it be a flaky twist a danish a donut muffin or sandwich you can decide. With coffee or tea iced or hot new flavors every so often. Heavnlys is quite underrated. The employees deserve all of the tips they get they put a smile on my face every time I go. There's plenty of parking in back as well. One thing to keep in mind is that the way the sidewalk is set up in front of the building you may not see a person walking across as you're leaving the drive thru because the building blocks the left side of the exit view so just be wary. I tend to have to stop and stare at the person in the drive thru to make sure they know I'm crossing so that I know they are letting me go. One last thing is there are two entrances one door in front and one in back. Just in case you were thinking you might have to walk all the way to the front haha. Thanks for reading have a nice day. This was defiantly the worst experience of my life. As soon as I walked in the building my mood dropped. The place was very empty and you could hear the employees taking drive through orders and they sounded very rude and bothered. Since this was my first time visiting I needed a moment to look at the menu, considering how big it is. The lady standing near the check out counter kept asking me if I was ready yet and heavy sighing when I told her I needed a minute. When i was finally ready to order I got a bacon egg and cheese on a plain bagel as did my friend. We repeated ourselves about 3 times before she finally understood it was on a bagel and not a croissant! For my coffee I got a caramel macchiato because those are my favorite. She asked me what i wanted in it which was confusing because she was very vague, and they are typically the same everywhere you go! She proceeded to say skim, milk, cream, coconut and i ended up going with milk because I wasn't sure. After i finished ordering she mumbled under her breath to my friend "jeez has she ever ordered a coffee before". In addition this place was very over staffed for the time of day and for how many people there were it amazed me how they were all in a bad mood. Good for me or not -- most of my breakfasts take place in the car. When I'm good it's only coffee, when I'm not I add a donut. The problem is that if you are going to eat a donut make sure it is good. This place has the best Donuts and Coffee and the lines are around the block --they have held off the big chain DD (there is one next door with no lines) and have a huge local following. I would give 5 stars for their donuts, their scones, their coffee rolls and bagels but not their coffee The hot coffee at this location tastes pre-ground. The flavors are numerous (though I wish they would take advice and post them at the outside menu board instead of in a window beyond the menu board after you've made your selection and drive through) but, with the exception of a few flavored coffees, their hot coffee isn't that great. Any one that says its just as good as Starbucks or Dunkin Donuts etc is saying it out of loyalty. Their ice coffee is much better I know that The variety of confections is big enough to make anybody happy. I highly recommend the bow ties which, to me, is the sex of donuts. I like the fact that many of their muffins and their scones are un-frosted and un-sugared unlike some other coffee stops I could name(see above). The jelly in the jelly donuts taste like jelly and not gelatinous colored sugar. And its a pleasure to see the owner actually making the baked goods right on the premises. My Boston co-workers do cartwheels when I bring a box of Heav'nly Donut muffins, coffee rolls and scones. I didn't see anyone say anything about their breakfast sandwiches and I've enjoyed coming here for years so I thought I'd write a review. There are some days that I think I'll die if I can't have a sausage, egg, and cheese on a croissant. Absolutely amazing every time. The bacon version is also pretty good. Their donuts are okay, but it varies, some days they're amazing others kinda dry. Muffins and pastries, I give 4 stars. Now, I am a coffee fanatic. I used to work at Starbucks and another small local shop. The coffee served here is New England Coffee. All the flavors are brewed that way, not flavor 'shots' like some places. I personally love this brand (blueberry cobbler and pumpkin spice are my favorites!) and I think it tastes better iced, but they don't always do a great job with brewing, freshness, or condiment amounts here. Overall, this is a good spot if you're in the area and want a decent coffee and breakfast item for a reasonable price, just don't expect gourmet quality. My first time trying out heav'nly donuts and i am extremely disappointing the coffee here has a weird after taste and the staff here is extremely rude. my friend tried ordering coffee and the lady made it very confusing and then proceeded to say in a snarky attitude "has she ever ordered coffee before??" I was in haverhill exploring the area and headed over the river, and while looking for a place to turnaround I saw the sign for Heav'nly Donuts. I came across this place in a review and wanted to find it, and was glad that this morning - and I didn't have breakfast - that I came across it. When you enter the lot you can either park and walk in or enter the drive through. Since it was my first time I opted to park so I could see all they have to offer. There is a door in the back and as you walk towards the front of the store you see the counters to your right, plus they have booths - they were mostly filled with the 60+ year old crowd. There is a case near the front door that is filled with danish and other like morning pastries, and all the donuts are displayed on the typical, angled shelving you see in every other donut place. There were about six people working, but they seemed focused on the drive through and there was only one woman taking care of walk-ins. The guy getting a dozen donuts was having difficulty making decisions, I felt sorry for the girl helping him - she was getting her exercise and also an opportunity to practice her patience. It was just after 930 a.m. and there were a lot of donuts to select, which can make it difficult, but I have my favorites - so, I purchased a glazed, chocolate coconut and chocolate cruller. There were probably another dozen flavors and shapes and since I was hungry I limited it to three, which would become breakfast and lunch. The glazed donut was on top, and that was the first to be devoured, and I was greatly disappointed - not enough glaze, interior was dry and even at that time in the morning it didn't taste fresh. I then tried the cruller - it too was a little on the dry side. The flavor was a little strange, the glaze was better; but it still was far from the best or even an acceptable donut. Finally, I broke into the chocolate coconut and this, too, was on the dry side but not as much as the other two. The chocolate flavor was not as strange and if this was the only donut I had tried I would have given them a 2 star rating - I was sadly disappointed and I hope that the other locations have a much better product. read more

I don't understand how there are any good reviews for this place. The coffee is terrible and weak, they always screw up my order, the muffins and donuts tend to be stale. The other locations I've been to, North Andover, and Plaistow have all been great it ...just seems to be this location that is terrible. This is my favorite coffee shop. I stop in here and get coffee at least twice a week sometimes more. This place is always busy and for good reason. The donuts, bagels and muffins taste freshly made and are great. Personally, I am a huge fan of their breakfast sandwiches and recommend you try one.
