I had wanted to check this place out since my family came for Christmas last year. I think we missed the hours when they were here, so I took advantage of my trip to Midway yesterday to check it out. What a cute place with lots of local goods including cheese, snacks, vinegars, bottled milk (old school... I loved getting my milk like this when I was younger), and ice cream! I wanted to buy some cheese, but it was so hot yesterday, I didn't want it to spoil before I got home. I went with some white peach balsamic vinegar and indulged in a scoop of Aggie Mint Ice Cream . It could have been a tad more minty, but still so yummy! I even got a cute cow sticker to put in my junk journal! I'll be getting cheese on my next trip to Midway, and will be prepared with a little cooler to secure the goods! My family and I stopped in here to check out the cheese and milk and we were not disappointed! They had so many different flavors of cheese and are kind enough to let you sample different flavors first before you make a purchase. The store is quaint, but has a lot going on. Other products we saw were salsa, caramels, nuts, and more. I also saw that they had a menu to order fresh food which greatly intrigued me. We ended up choosing the Honey Lavender Cheddar and the Snake Creek Sharp. We weren't able to transport back any milk, but we're excited to try that and their fresh food next! read more

The staff is friendly, patient, and helpful and can help you find the best cheese for your preference. They also have a nice shop so you can purchase blocks of cheese and accompaniment and gifts! Great little cheese shop and if your lucky enough to get there when it's not busy get in and do your picking of your favorites because it's small inside and inevitably as soon as you pull up three more cars pull in after you. They have great sandwiches, ice cream and a refrigerator full of various different cheeses as well as other condiments and things in the middle of the store. There is seating outside and they are right next to the farm so the cows are on the other side of the fence. We had some time before our train, so we drove around Midway and came across this amazing shop! Outside you can view the cows and they also have a fruit area. Inside is an ice cream shop with other amazing treats. They also have cheese samples for you to try. We purchased balsamic vinegar, rubarb jam, chocolate fudge, granola, and caramels to bring home. Everything is delicious! There's table seating outside and a few fun things for the kids. The line for the ice cream was long and there were four young people working, but only one was scooping. I felt sorry for her. Three of them were just talking behind the register and drinking soda. We both ordered the cosmic blast (huckleberry with chocolate chunks) in a waffle cone. I highly recommend! On our next visit, I'd love to take a cheese making class. read more

Truly some of the best cheddar cheese I've ever had in my life! We stopped here while we were in Midway for the weekend. It's a cute quaint little store with a bunch of different goodies and ice cream. They have so many unique flavors of cheese like mojito, lemon Sage, etc. everything we got was amazing! I grew up coming to this farm as a young child. They didn't open the restaurant till I don't know how many years ago. I get most of my cheese from this place. It's amazing. I drive from Draper, Utah all the time to eat it. They have really good grilled cheese sandwiches and amazing ice cream. My three children anytime I am in the area demand that we stop by there and get ice cream. You really can't go wrong with any of the cheeses that they have. They have an assortment of 10 to 20 different cheeses at any given time. Something that is really nice about this cheese is that it doesn't go bad fast. It's a very very, very long time. Highly recommended five out of five stars. Special note; they always have activities around the holidays for kids. They also have tours of the facility and cheese making classes quite frequently. I've done the Tours a few times as my kids are obsessed with it. I did the cheesemaking class one time with my wife and it was a lot of fun. read more

Really nice place and a nice change from the BUSY Swiss Day in Midway. Artisan cheese was still busy, but just enough to make it fun. Right when we walked in they direct you to the cheese tasting area. SO MUCH CHEESE. I had to take home the bacon/jalapeño cheddar. They make waffle cones right in front of you for the ice cream . I got a peach cobbler ice cream in a waffle cone. Also, if you like chocolate milk, I def recommend you take one of the glass jars home. Top 3 chocolate milks I've had. Around the back of the store is parking, but if you walk far enough you can see the cows in the pasture. Really pretty backdrop. Will be back Heber Valley Artisan Cheese! read more

My friends and I had the Aggie ice cream. We marveled how creamy and rich each of our flavors were. I ordered lemon ice cream. It has to be ranked in the top 5 flavors I have had anywhere! The selection of cheeses are worth the trip. I have not seen as many flavors of cheese curds anywhere. After choosing one flavor, a fellow customer pointed out the sample area. Yum! Add to the sale! I had an amazing time here at Heber Valley Artisan Cheese!! I'm visiting in from California and wanted to do something fun and this definitely was just that. Their dairy farm tour was super interesting! You get to ride a tractor, interact with the calves, see the main barn and ladies, and learn lots about dairy farming processes. My tour guide was Mckay and he is so admirably passionate about his job as a dairy farmer and the cows; it was beyond easy to listen to him talk and answer questions. Something to note is that it's a dairy farm tour, not a petting zoo or anything like that. It's going to be farm-like. There is dirt and mud and it obviously won't smell of peaches and roses. Regardless, I urge anyone who gets the opportunity to go, to go and learn about dairy farming and the trade. As for the store; it was wonderful! The store is well-kept and the workers are sociable and helpful. At the store they sell loads of house-made, award-winning cheese, gallons of milk from their farm, and a variety of local goods. I'd also say everything they sell and the tours/experiences are super affordable! I left the store with a couple wedges of cheese, local raw honey, and a scoop of Aggie's ice cream! On a hot day when riding the motorcycles over Guardsman's Pass, this is our must-stop place. The ice-cream is perfectly sweet and creamy... really delivers on that craving! They can get pretty busy with long lines at the checkout and ice-cream counter, so do plan on spending more than a few minutes there, but they do have a decent amount of seating outside. If you make it to The Pearly Gates of Heaven, I'm pretty sure it will smell like the inside of Heber Valley Artisan Cheese. This gift shop/lunch counter/ ice cream shop/ cheese shop is a pure delight! Take your time and look around at the dozens of cheeses... you will find something that makes your mouth water!!! They have some samples out to try as well ( love that). They prepare custom party platters as well. They have a soup and sandwich counter where you can get ... what else? A grilled cheese and soup dejour. The young gentleman working the counter was the friendliest, most polite and engaging person we met on our trip to Utah. He told us of several area attractions. Post-Christmas, Heber Valley hosted an ice sculpture exhibition. After months of pandemic hibernation, this sounded like a thrilling prospect. We arrived right at opening, 10am, and the lot and additional parking filled quickly. It might have been the lack of many area events, or maybe they always get such a turn out, but just a heads up! It was chilly, and we quickly looked over the sculptures, picking favorites and stopping to watch the spotted cows meander along the bordering field, then made our way to the real action inside. I know it is expected, but there truly was SO MUCH CHEESE! Many area stores sell Heber Valley's wares, but this shop had many flavors I have never before seen or at least not noticed (not even at the SLC farmers market!). We picked up jalapeño juustoleipa, vanilla bean cheddar, 6-year aged cheddar, cinnamon honey, cracked pepper and chive, and more. Next, we explored the many curds, nabbing smoked jalapeno bacon, banana pepper, ranch, and tomato basil. Not content with cheese alone, we got a couple (locally made!) Süss cookies, eggs, (local) Rowley's Red Barn apple cider, and chocolate covered sunflower seeds. Did I spend $80+? Sure did, and I don't regret it one bit. That's a whole lotta cheese! There is plenty more besides: bath and body items, honey, olive oil, preserves, pickles, salsa, chips, local Canyon Meadows Ranch beef, and even a few toys for kids. We shared a grilled cheese (you get to pick your own variety of bread and cheese!) and tomato basil soup, which took less than ten minutes to be prepared. We enjoyed it on their covered outdoor patio with plenty of space for social distancing. The grilled cheese was the type you would make for a four year old: barely cooked, so that the butter is melted, but the bread not even golden. I want crispity toasty bread, but I am sure you can request that, so I'll know for next time. As it was, my husband and I happily munched up each of our halves, dipping them in the hot tomato basil soup, and enjoying the heater bordering our table. It was a simple and satisfying lunch after wandering in the cold checking out the ice sculptures. Overall, our favorites were the dill pickle curd, pine nut and pepper & chive cheeses, with the overall winner being the vanilla bean. That stuff is glorious, especially prepared simply with a sliced apple and crackers. Get you some of that for sure! Lastly, HV offers various classes and tours, which I think they have only recently resumed, but they sound very interesting and fun. Though a bit out of the way for me, Heber Valley Cheese is worth the trip, and I will absolutely be back! read more

Local cheese, and ice cream how cool is that? Nothing tastes as good as fresh local cheese. Many different types of cheeses to choose from. They didn't have any samples to taste, but the packages are fairly small if you want to be adventurous, and check out some flavors that you could never have imagined would be infused to make delicious cheese spreads. Like Honey Lavender? Besides the cheese they have ice cream, only about 6 flavors but I usually just get chocolate, which they had. They offer waffle cones, but I just had mine in a cup which was an ample serving size. No seating inside, however there are a couple of tables outside to sit down, and eat your ice cream. This is such a hidden gem. I love this place so much. I came to Utah to see the ice castles and I needed other things to do throughout the day. This was such a great place to stop! So many amazing cheeses. My favorite stop on this trip! The cheese is amazing and they have so many great varieties. I love the literally all the cheeses. The most notable ones were the cracked pepper and chive, tomato basil cheddar, smoked jalapeno bacon. But what topped it off was the JACKED UP cheese spread they have.
