This is the only post office in Corpus Christi that processes passports. I called the number provided on their website several times and was never able to get in touch with anyone. I left two messages 7 days apart to request an appointment on their answering service. I finally received a call 6 days after I left the second message. I asked (to make sure I had all the paperwork) what I needed to bring with me in order to process my child's passport request, since his current passport was expiring soon. I had consulted the official state department website beforehand to do the paperwork, but wanted to ensure I had everything ready. We showed up 20 minutes early. We were seen ontime by Nicole. I gave her all the paperwork and my child's passport photo (which she said was too dark, so we had to purchase another one at the Post Office). She did stamp the passport photos as unusable so I could request a refund from the place I paid to get photos. We were disappointed when she asked for a state driver's license and we handed her military IDs that she said she couldn't use them and she "needed a Texas driver's license." Neither of us have Texas driver's licenses. I tried to explain to her that the IDs were issued by the federal government. The other gentleman (the PO employee who processes passport applications) agreed with her and explained to me that the State Department "wouldn't take military IDs because they are so easy to fake." ???? So we gave her our out-of-state driver's licenses and she said she had to have the military IDs as well to verify the out-of-state IDs. ? But the kicker is she said as she was putting together all of the paperwork for the passport application, "I need his birth certificate." ???? Again. That was never mentioned on the state department paperwork nor did she mention it when I specifically asked when I made the appointment. So I said, I have a military ID for my son. She informed me the state department wouldn't accept a military ID as proof we were the parents (even though our child has our last names, one surname as a middle name) in his name. Throughout the encounter, she appeared irritated by us. She rolled her eyes and sighed more than once. It's disappointing when good customer service is so hard to come by. I definitely recommend a different location if you are able. If you come to this location, have plenty of patience and lots of positive energy. You'll need it! read more

Had a passport appointment today along with my whole family. We arrive and are informed by others who also have appointments that there is no one available to run the post office except for the passport person. Since he was the only person there he could not do passports. People took off work for these appointments. There needs to be better communication and customer service. I feel for guy working there today. He said he would be the only one there all week apparently. He had to make calls himself to find out what was going on. Why is this? Do better! read more

I guess people that have trouble here are the ones getting passports. I only came to ship a package and to buy stamps. No lines. Friendly cashier. Package arrived quicker than what he had estimated. The missing star was because I kept trying the tracking number on my receipt and it showed no movement at all. Even after the package was delivered. The package itself arrived back home intact. But I scanned the barcode and the tracking number was completely different from what was printed on my receipt and on the label. A bit confusing and annoying, but nothing devastating. read more

Went at 2:30 on a Friday to see the postmaster general. Guess what, they were already gone. I asked what the hours were, and I was told their hours are until 4 PM, but Fridays they leave early whenever they want. This is ridiculous. If they're supposed to be there until 4 o'clock, why are they not there until 4 PM? read more

Horrible service. I scheduled an appointment and this lady that was helping me had an horrible attitude. She had no manners and was terribly rude. She threw my papers around and looked us up and down with disdain. I regret not getting her name. I ended up getting nothing done and had to reschedule another appointment. I don't even feel like going back. read more

If I could rate them a zero, I would. I made an appointment for my two children to apply for passports. The morning of our appointment, I get a call from the office (30 min before scheduled time) saying I had to reschedule because they were understaffed and there was nothing they could do about it. Annoying, but okay. Rescheduled for two weeks later. I specifically selected this location because they offered photo services (or so I thought). Showed up 15 min early, the guy asks if both parents are present. No, one parent and the notarized consent from the other. Then he asked if I brought their photos. I said no? USPS website said you offer photo services here. He snapped back "yeah, I can't take photos of minors." What???? I was so angry. When I cooled off, I tried calling the office to let them know they should be more clear about their photo services on the website. I couldn't even get the phone to ring. It immediately went to a message stating this mailbox was full. Moral of the story- do not waste your time here. They don't care to help you at all. read more

Don't even waste your time trying to get your passport here. For one thing, you need an appointment to get your passport and as far as I can tell, it's impossible to get an appointment because they will: 1) never answer the phone, and 2) never call you back.
