The second time I stopped by the person behind the counter told me to come back in an hour because the person who does the smog test wasn't there. I stop by an hour after (and for the third time) and was told they are unable to do my smog check because they are not star certified, however their website says they are star certified. It was annoying dealing with them. I wish they would have told me they couldn't do the smog check because they are not star certified since they did look at my paperwork before telling me to come back in an hour.

Instead of using standard diagnostic procedures, the technician told me to turn the car on and literally put the "pedal to the metal," demonstrating with hand motions to floor the accelerator to check the exhaust for visible smoke. Despite my clear hesitation, he insisted that was his method. I followed his instructions in the lot, only for him to reverse course, claim I did it wrong, and say I should have only revved it to 2,000-3,000 RPM. He then smirked and remarked, "I thought you were going to blow your engine." Treating a customer's vehicle with reckless disregard--and then joking about causing catastrophic engine failure--is unacceptable from an automotive professional. If you drive an older or high-mileage vehicle, take it elsewhere. DO NOT RECOMMEND.
