It was time for my yearly smog check at a STAR station. I called a handful of places that said they weren't a STAR station or they quoted me around $60. I finally found this place ($45 for smog check and certificate for a 2015 car) and decided to give it a try. No frills shop that had clean and comfy chairs to sit on while he does the check. I've been putting off my smog test for weeks and finally started to make some calls. This place was my second call and the rate for my 2015 Honda was 43 v. The 65 quote I received for the first phone call at another local place. Sony helped me was extremely professional and kind. Questions I asked How much is a smog check for my 2015 Honda? (43$) Does that include certification? (Yes) Do you accept credit cards? (Yes) Is there an additional credit card fee? (No) How long does the smog check take? (10 min) I really wish I would have had cash to tip Sony because not only was he fast and efficient but he also checked my engine and noticed my dad left off a oil cap piece off of its given place which would have failed my smog had Sony not taken the time to look and fix it. I asked how soon I could go online to pay for my tags (since the smog test has to be submitted by the shop to the dmv to show it passed) (Sony answered by tomorrow (I went in around 3pm) however I tried paying my tags a few hours later and the dmv allowed me to pay for my tags since they had already received the results from Sony. I will be coming here moving forward and will recommend everyone that needs a smog test to this shop. Exceptional service! read more

This place was unprofessional! Took my car for smog check. The man working said he couldn't pass it that there was a problem with the catalytic converter. He told me drive it for few days and bring it back which I did but I had to pay that day. Brought it back there was another man working who didn't find any issue but said I had to pay again because no free retest even though they have a huge free retest sign. Felt like a scam to me because never had car issue all maintenance up to date and the 2nd man said the first employee was unsure and didn't want to make a mistake.
