So this year I have been waiting patiently and finally spring came around and they opened up but I advise to call ahead bc there hours vary and also weather related. But the staff is very friendly and helpful they bring the food to your car which is a nice touch. It being only my 1st time I just tried a fried chicken sandwich and got a icee as well. The story goes Martha Stewart pulled up so she could try a couple of the garnishes, liked what she tasted and invited Owner Mike to participate in a hot dog segment of her show. Today, Chez Lenard has a decades old cart on Main Street and two additional carts for catering or events. I ordered Le Hot Dog Choucroute Alsacienne (which has sauerkraut and a high quality Dijon Mustard) and Le Hot Dog Epicie Garniture Suisse (which boasts a traditional cheese fondue and a horseradish sauce). After a bit of research, these seemed like the most classic Chez Lenard toppings. The toppings were all very tasty. Chez Lenard uses Hebrew National dogs which are ready in a steam bath when you order. Among the best known and loved CTSpots, this is probably my least favorite combo of dog selection and cooking technique. There's no snap and it has one of the softer textures you'll find. I understand that one of the movable carts has a grill. The buns are Martin's potato rolls, which are fine. Chez Lenard enjoys an important history in Ridgefield. They've been a source of jobs for young adults. A lot of people have been going there for a long time because downtown Ridgefield is a cool place to visit. Somebody who lives closer to Ridgefield might give it a bit of a bump because it's been an important pat of their lives. Being a visitor, I can only go by the dog. 4.5 Stars for the toppings. 3.5 Stars for the dog itself. 4 Stars overall

I get that generations of Norwalkers and others have fond memories of their time here, and it was with that fact in mind that I ignored my intuition and entered the outdated, near-empty facade just after noon. For the new and unititiated, a word of admonition: do not let your senses fool you. Dairy King looks like a dive, and tastes like a dive, and not in any delicious way. I get that going pretty much anywhere for ice cream on a hot summer day is fun. What I do not get are comments here asserting that Dairy King's food, particularly their burgers are anything more than mediocre, studiously average at best, and a dubious step up over major chains. To all who will, in the the romantic twilight after Little League games or movies, arrive at Dairy King hungry and ready and willing to scarf down just about anything, I hope for your sake that good experiences continue, that fine memories of family and friends are created and then savored in the hopefully delicious silence of your unfolding life. But for me Dairy King is far behind even the middle of the pack in it's chosen catagory, my days of eating "just about anything" are well behind me, and Dairy King will have to take it the rest of the way without me, at least until the day the real estate developers lean on City Hall to condemn that section of Main Avenue (under a phonied-up interpretation of the eminent domain statutes) and Dairy King inevitably (and blessedly) falls to the wrecking ball, destined to become mixed-use retail with residential up above.

Honestly, while I do miss Tom E Toes, I am glad this was the restaurant that took its place. The people working there are always nice and will answer any questions I might have. It's also a very convenient place for those who are spending their day here in Wilton. My visits here have been almost exclusively while I was going to or from work. I usually pay quite a bit when I come here because I customize my meals, but that's part of the charm I've come to love about this place. It also helps that my customizations always make my meals from here extremely filling. For example, my burger today was a Build Your Own Golden Style Double (Golden Style meaning it is mustard grilled) with cheddar, bacon, cheese sauce, crunchy onions, chips, and BBQ Aioli, and my fries were Bacon Cheese Fries toasted in K-Town Sauce. May I just say that these were both yummy and satisfying! One thing I should note since I am looking at my receipt as I am writing this review, this is the first restaurant in the state that uses Zero Acre Farms Oil in 90% of its food prep and has been doing so for over 2 years (January 2024 was when they started this). I don't come often, but I will continue to come here as an option whenever the need arises for a good burger in Wilton.
