I love lobster rolls. and had many lobster rolls in the past - including 2 lb lobster rolls in Maine. but definitely the cold kind. This had way too much butter!!! The buns were soaked through and my hands were greasy after eating it. :( The lobster meat was aplenty and sweet so it was pretty good lobster. Just wish it wasn't so greasy. We also opted for the sweet potato fries. It wasn't sweet potato-ey! Maybe too much batter? i dunno.. but i like it a bit more chunky. Next time, I'll opt for regular fries. The texture was perfectly crispy though. Total was about $45. including a drink. Friends ordered ice cream and I got to try the maple, peanut butter one, almond coconut, and coffee. I loved maple and coffee. Peanut butter was too dense/rich? and i am not a fan of coconut pieces. All of the ice cream flavors were unique and really yummy! read more

Heibeck's is one of those places that is nostalgic. It's part of the community and has been forever. Therefore, it is borderline unacceptable to speak ill of it. So happy the stand is back in the Heibeck family. A Georgetown institution- with a great patio (BYOB!) homemade ice cream, and a more upscale menu. The Lobster roll was amazing-on perfectly griddled and generously stuffed fresh baked split top bun, albeit on the pricey side. It was so tasty I didn't mind paying more. So incredibly happy to find fried green beans on the menu, do wish they they were cooked for a little less time to get a better crunch. What a great little roadside spot! Casual dining with a cute picnic area and it's BYOB. The lobster rolls had a ton of meat and were a great deal for the price. This is a staple when we come to town. Today's visit was great as always! Our ticket got lost, or didn't print, so we had to inquire why our food wasn't ready after about 20 minutes of waiting. The manager was extremely apologetic and gave each person in our party (8) free ice cream! The food was delicious and well worth the wait. And the ice cream was spectacular as usual! We recommend the Doe Doe Dog, veggie burger, shrimp poe boy, French fries (regular and sweet potato!) and of course, the ice cream!!! read more

Probably the best ice cream treats in Fairfield County, and a must-stop along the road to Danbury to Stamford. The Deep Purple Cow blackberry ice cream with white and dark chocolate chips is oh-so-good. Heibeck's is my favorite place. There's always dogs there. Every time I go. They even have DOG ice cream. The ice cream is soooooo good. Mud pie yogurt is my favorite--coffee with oreos. The fried green beans make me feel some type of way. A good way, that is. The aesthetic is really cute; there's cute twinkly lights that they turn on when its dark and everything is pastel, it feels like candyland. There's also flowers everywhere, so it's a good place for a photo op. I love coming here with my friends and getting fries and milkshakes. I eat here about twice a month. I love their fish taco and falafel. I regularly bring home a pint of their chocolate ice cream - it has a unique mousse-like, fluffier(?) consistency. All the staff is wonderful and it feels like a mini community hub, I'm grateful for Heibeck's! read more

This place has a grand tradition as a local eatery for decades. The service was friendly and the food was above average for road side fare. I had a cheeseburger as did my wife. The burgers were slightly over cooked so they lacked the seared but juicy quality I expect from a well made burger. The commercial buns were no match for the yummy sauce so they quickly devolved into a bit of a soggy mess but all in all they were delicious and messy and fun. The fries were so-so, nothing to write home about but we would certainly come back if we were passing by and sample other things from their menu. read more

After passing Heibeck's many times, reviews that mention delicious lobster rolls, juicy mouthwatering burgers and homemade ice cream, we decided that we just had to give it a try. My husband, 2.5 year old daughter dined on a weekday evening over the summer. The establishment had a few tables full, but it wasn't overly busy. For starters, at 5pm, the kitchen was out of fish tacos, shrimp roll and a few other items. When placing order, I notified the kitchen that I had a severe nut allergy. The young lady taking our order mentioned that I wouldn't be able to eat the French fries due to cross contamination, however, said she would confirm. The gentleman at the grill was quite matter-of-fact with her and seemed bothered that she told us that, as there were no nuts in the kitchen. My husband ordered the half pound western burger, French fries and I had a lobster roll which I asked to be very very light on the butter and an iced tea lemonade. Upon reading the reviews and seeing the photos, we didn't think there was a way we could be disappointed with our meal. Boy were we wrong. When the food arrived, The burger was sliding off the bun and looked like something served in a school cafeteria. The sauce oozed off the bun and onto the plate. It was anything but appealing. And how sad, a burger, no pickle, nothing but am empty plate. The lobster roll, albeit with chunks of lobster was so incredibly saturated with butter that the roll was nearly disintegrating and couldn't be picked up off the plate. The chunks of lobster were stringy and way over cooked. The French fries were hot and crispy but did not look homemade. The iced tea lemonade was warm and tasted more like water with a splash of lemon. At that point, we would have gotten into our car and driven to gofer's ice cream down the street or mr frosty in Norwalk, however, I promised my daughter ice cream after her dinner. I ordered a scoop of trash can ice cream in a cone. I'm unsure if the refrigeration system was working properly because the ice cream was literally melting as the young gentleman was scooping it out of the case. It was barely making it to the cone and before it even reached our hands, was dripping down. Sadly, our whole experience this evening was disappointing to say the least. I'm not quite sure what the hype is, aside from being a cute establishment with history and a story and will no longer feel a burning desire to be enticed by the catchy "lobster rolls, shrimp rolls and fish taco" sign. read more

Delicious and affordable homemade ice cream! They have many unique flavors; I had chunky chocolate raspberry (or something close) and it was deliciously creamy with real chocolate chunks! We ate it on the patio in the back which has lovely flowers and furniture. I'd love to try the lobster roll or fish tacos. read more

Used to live coming here as a child with my grandparents. Stopped in today for some lunch. Food was decent. Lobster roll was definitely not worth the money though. All Claw meat, No tail. Everything else was good except the service. Most of the counter people were friendly except the taller guy there that we got. Very unfriendly. When he told us the total, I handed him the money and said thank you. His response. "Yup" I again thanked him when he gave us our drinks and he didn't respond at all. My family comes from CA and they have to eat at Heibecks every darned day and even in between meals!! This is not your average roadside stand, no sir! My personal favorite is the Baja taco with crispy cod on a bed of cabbage layered with housemaid tomatillo sauce topped with avocado salsa and cilantro. Also amazing is the Carne Asada which is a street style taco with grilled steak, onions, cilantro and cilantro Crema. The fries are hand cut and blow away!
