Besides this, everything else was great so I did not deduct any stars. Let me explain. We were a party of 4 and just arriving from NY, we were hungry. We walked in at about 4:30-4:45. We asked for a table for 4. We were told the wait will be over an hour. They asked if we would like to sit at the bar area, same food and probably would get service quicker. I said sure. We both want to look for a table and there were none, so I just told the staff that we will go to the bar area and wait while having a drink. We were given a buzzer. We came across a Maria bar table with a nice couple sitting there, and 2 open seats. I asked if we could sit there and they said of course. They then Deb moved over 2 seats arguing gave us 4 seats. I was do thankful for them being so nice that I picked up their bar tab. I noticed that the dining area has at least 5 open tables for 4 and 1 for 6+. I went up to the desk and told them this. I was told they were fit reservations and I couldn't have a table. Long story short, 45 min went guy and there were still open tables, I E's not happy and let them know. By this time though, our waiter Marco cans over to us and said he would take care of us, which he did. I told the front desk to forget our table and have them the buzzer back. ** My review starts*** Marco was a great waiter taking excellent care of us. We had a great time with Marco and our new friends next to us. I ordered the halibut stuffed with crab which was outstanding. My wife ordered the salmon which was delicious as well, I particularly enjoyed the crispy skin of the salmon, yum!!! Our friends ordered the fried calamari which he enjoyed and his wife had the salmon over a Ceaser salad. To finish it off, I had to get the lava cake for dessert.....hey, why not, I'm in vacation lol! Everything was great, the food delicious, Super Marco s the best!!! Great service and a great time. Then I spotted the Elf on the Shelf pizza. We asked our amazing waiter what he thought about it, and when he told us it was one of his favorites, we decided to commit and give it a try. We were told there would be a wait, which was fine, but from that point on the service only got worse. We sat waiting for about 20 to 30 minutes and were never given menus or any updates, while other parties around us who were also waiting were being helped, given drinks, given menus, and kept informed about their table times. While we were waiting, we overheard what I assume was a manager, a man in a maroon shirt with tattoos, updating another party about their reservation. He told them that their reservation had been messed up: instead of having one table for six as requested, the restaurant had them down for a table for four and a separate table for two. If they wanted to actually be seated together at a table for six, they would have to wait another hour, plus an additional 40 minutes for food. Hearing that made it pretty clear that the lack of organization and communication wasn't just happening to us. After we had already been waiting, the man in the black shirt finally came back over. Instead of seating us, he told us it would actually be another 45 minutes to an hour before we would even be seated and receive food. I asked if that included the time we had already spent waiting, and he responded to me in a very dismissive and demeaning way, saying that we would not even be seated for another 45 minutes. At that point, my mom and stepdad decided we should just go somewhere else. My mom asked if the drinks could be comped given the poor communication and how the situation had been handled. His response was basically, "You'll have to take it up with them," referring to the bar. When I asked if the bar was a separate business, he ignored the question and walked away. My stepdad then had to go up to the bar and pay for four drinks, which took another 10 minutes despite there being two bartenders and very few people waiting. I can't review the food because we never got the chance to try it. We came in hoping to have a nice dinner to celebrate a college graduation, and instead we got rude service, poor communication, and a complete waste of time. We would have gladly come back another day if the staff had simply been honest, respectful, and organized from the start, but after this experience, we won't be returning.

There also doesn't seem to be a clear way to tell who is actually waiting versus who has just arrived. Meanwhile, I watched larger tables that had been pushed together for bigger parties remain together after those parties left, then get reset and used for smaller groups rather than being separated again. That's a lot of usable seating sitting unnecessarily occupied when you have a lobby full of people waiting. When I asked the host during my first visit why someone behind me on the waitlist had been given the bar seat I'd originally asked about, I received an apology but no real explanation or resolution. On the positive side, after spending plenty of time waiting on both visits, I can certainly confirm what others have said about the restaurant being clean and the portions looking generous coming out of the kitchen looke I genuinely wanted to try Heidi's, and I still think it may be worth visiting during slower hours. But after two consecutive weekend experiences with the same seating issues, the problem feels less like "they were busy today" and more like a process that needs some attention.
