Not a good start…read more My wife just transferred to this place. We signed all the appropriate documents to get her full support for nutrition and treatment. We requested a low-fat diet and they said they cannot honor that until a nutritionist on Monday evaluates her situation and they gave her a full fat diet of food. She can't eat that. Pancreatitis. Because of her knee replacement surgery she needs a walker to get to the bathroom. They won't give her one until Physical Therapy evaluates her on monday. This means she must lie in bed and wait for staff to help her to get to the bathroom. They don't come when she calls and she lies in a wet diaper for hours. She is prone to UTI's. This facility doesn't even have the Pure Wick system, a necessity when having incontinent patients. They don't have Rx pain med in stock, so she has to wait hours for the prescription to be filled. All staff members are nice to talk with, but response for help is poorly lacking. We will be contacting her doctors and her Onbudsman to get her transfer to our chosen facility. As they stay progressed, so did the care to a certain point. Her PT therapist was great! The social worker was nice & took note of our complaints. Some of the staff need a new line of work. Some of the staff is fantastic. My wife told the concierge about both extremes. Praise for the praiseworthy & request the bad ones not assist my wife. Try to have someone with your loved one as much as possible & advocate.

I paid for a ride and stretcher for my 84y.o father to be brought home on Thursday, 11/20/24, after 2 months in a rehab facility after a broken hip and surgery. He lives on the second level and needed assistance. He was due for an 11am pickup and they were late, which with Boston traffic I didn't think anything of it. Almost 2hrs later, I heard my doorbell and thought it was the Brockton Home Health Agency, but it was my 86 y.o mother who rang my door because they left my father sitting on a small table on our porch. It was cold and rainy and they just left him. I walked out to talk to the drivers who just looked at me, got in the car and took off, without saying a word. Basically speaking volumes...letting us know that that's not their problem. My father was left like a package on the porch table. I called the company, the # from the van as they took off. and told them what happened. I asked what did I pay for, because I was confused. How was this okay? I could've saved money and picked my dad up myself if that was how they were going to leave him. The company called the drivers to come back. They took forever and I wasn't going to leave him. Both of my parents looked on in disbelief and worry. So we slowly went up the stairs to the 2nd level as the physical therapist had taught us. I had to put him in a chair half way up. As slow as we went, with taking a break, they hadn't arrived, so we kept going. Once I got him safe to his bed, I went back down to meet the drivers. When they finally arrived, one of them said that the stretcher would not have fit (they didn't attempt anything.) I opened the door and should him the massive entry way, high ceilings and large space. His excuse was invalid. Even if it was, they didn't communicate, attempt or anything. They left 2 elderly people on the porch, who couldn't communicate properly, knowing they were limited in mobility and could not get upstairs on their own. They left without speaking to me. They left without caring. He could've fell and re-injured his hip. I hurt thinking how he must've felt being treated in such a way after 2 months of not being home. My father woke up the next day with so much pain from having to walk up all those steps due to their negligence. My back still hurts from having to help hold him up as he made his trek up. I will never use the Brockton Home Healthy Agency Again and will never refer them to anyone!! The drivers never apologized to my father.

Silence, deflection, and one nurse's casual diagnosis of "socially challenged" because I dared to assert boundaries and demand trauma-informed care. Let me be clear: I am not "socially challenged." I am emotionally fluent, legally precise, and protective of my family. What I am is tired of systems that punish clarity and reward compliance. The nurse in question, Linda, didn't just fail to communicate--she actively undermined it. When I emailed the DPH, Brockton VNA responded with a form letter and a shrug. No apology. No accountability. Just a reminder that if I wanted justice, I'd have to chase it myself. So here I am. Making noise. Because silence is complicity, and I refuse to be complicit in my own erasure. To the nurses who do show up with heart and integrity: thank you. You deserve better colleagues and stronger leadership. To Brockton VNA: I've filed the complaint. I've documented the harm. And now I'm telling the truth--loudly. Cheer's
