This is legit the worst dealer I have been to. It's literally like walking in to Walmart. No one is friendly, no one asks if you have questions or need help, and they seem to avoid interacting customers. The sales people stand behind the counter and when you ask questions they give incorrect information (wrong vehicle specs, general wrong info). I purchased a new bike in the summer of 2016 from Heinen via eBay. I have to say that Paul and Monty made the experience easy and effortless. I transferred funds electronically and the bike was shipped via freight from their warehouse in MN to my local dealer in AZ. I received all the paperwork to transfer the title to my state and they even covered the cost of a new battery when it was discovered that upon delivery the battery was dead. Really didn't want to write this review as I had an initially good experience at Heinen a few years ago buying my ATV, but needed to document my service experience here in the last month. I dropped off my 2017 Yamaha Kodiak 700 to get an oil change and inspection on 11/19. When dropping off, I specifically noted I wanted an inspection done as the unit hadn't been serviced in a few years and I had done work on some deer food plots with it this year so wanted to make sure it was holding up well. They advised that the charge was going to be about $140. Very expensive for an oil change and inspection, but I wanted a professional to look everything over since it hadn't been services in a few years. I picked it up after Thanksgiving and as I was inspecting it when I got home I noticed that the air filter was completed clogged up (see attached) and the coolant reservoir was completely dry. I spoke with their service department and they apologized and agreed to provide a partial refund and also graciously offered to provide some coolant and solvent to soak the air filter in. Before coming in to get the items and run my credit card for a refund, I actually installed a plow on my ATV and while installing the plow I happened to notice that the oil filter was clearly not changed as it was muddy (see photos attached). It also had an oil filter wrench with a socket attached to it. Looked like someone was about to start service and never finished. I returned to their service department, returned their oil filter wrench, got a full refund, and the service manager was supposed to call me to discuss and never called. Beware of this dealership and their service department. Whether it was intentional or not, I was clearly charged $142 for a service that never took place, which is borderline fraudulent. Will be taking my business elsewhere for future purchases and services. read more

May 2nd, 2020 I drive 6 hours to pick up my 2018 Tige' R20, even after tearing my knee up at work. Before I left for my long day of driving I asked several times if the boat had been serviced and the owner said yes, definitely, even have his text conversations between us. After paying him $61,000, cash deal, I drove 6 hours back home excited to try out my new boat. After a delay getting my dock installed and a couple knee injections so I could walk, I finally get to put my boat in the water and on the first lap around the lake I get an engine code, low voltage code. I pull back to my dock and call their service to confirm the code and nothing back so I end up searching the Internet for manuals for the boat codes. Ends up being a code thats tied to low oil pressure. So I then check the engine oil and it's two quarts low on oil, great, nice serving the boat before I leave. Next thing was the owner promised me the spare keys and nothing, I sent him pictures of the key code like he asked to make them.... yep, I had to go get those make myself after waiting several days. Now today the final straw that created my negative feedback..... I haven't been able to use the boat very much due to my knee and we finally go out for a night cruise and the touch screen goes dead, of course..... I put a meter on the primary battery and all good, 12.7 volts, then find the secondary battery and only 9 volts. So I unstrap the battery and all the terminals were loose, nyloc nuts hand tighten. Oh I forgot to mention the boat rack release pins were bad too.... Due to the lack of integrity of his original statement of the boat being serviced, which was clearly not the truth, I give them a negative review. At first I had hope because he'd text and promise then nothing. Be ware and thoroughly check over your potential purchase! read more

Bought a 2015 Superjet from these guys - they gave me a great deal. Paid them via wire transfer - they had the watercraft shipped to me. It arrived looking like a forklift had run into the crate and had long scars along the bottom and some damage to lower hull. I didn't let them unload it without calling in to document damage. I also contacted the sales manager immediately, sent him photos, and was more than willing to give them time to claim the shipping damage with their shipper. Did I mention I paid a 75% premium on shipping cost? Sales manager asks me to get an estimate for having the damage repaired. First estimate $1800. I was told that's "out of line" with the actual damage and that their shipper won't pay for the repair. So I get a 2nd estimate at a shop that just does marine repairs - $2100. The sales manager says he'll submit the claim which may take a few weeks, but doesn't think they'll cover it. I even offer to take $250 less than the low estimate, so see if that will get things moving. Even though I'm not the that contracted the shipper and any damage claim pays Heinen's, I'm reasonable, and I'll wait... After 60 days, I call the shipper - no claim ever put in - I called 3 times just to be sure. I guess Heinens didn't bother. I'm reasonable - so I even offer to make the watercraft available for any insurance adjuster they choose... We're still stuck with no coverage of the damage, going on 3 months now. It's non-trivial to find shops that will do finish repairs on watercraft and I've hauled this thing around for at least 4 hours as a courtesy so that HEINENS could recover from the shipper that they contracted. I guess that's not enough. If you buy something from these guys, I'd recommend that you chose your own shipper and make your own arrangements. Before you buy: Read their facebook comments. read more

I have been having an issue with my Yamaha FJR for four years. There was a safety recall that was performed by Heinen's for a bad ground wire in the main harness. In 2016, after the recall had been 'fixed' the motorcycle stalled in Taylors Falls and wouldn't start for three hours while sat on the side of the road. Yamaha said take it to your dealer and have it checked, Heinen's said it's running ok now we can't fix it. In 2018 it stalled while I was still at home I called Yamaha and they said take it to your dealer and have them check it. It sat at Heinens for a month and they finally replaced a relay and said hope that fixes it. This spring I went to get gas and on my way home it stalled again leaving me on the side of the road for an hour and a half. I road it over to Heinens and explained the symptoms to them and told them I thought it was the recall problem that they were supposed to have fixed. Andy, the service manager, said there are no error codes on the computer so there is nothing to fix. He also told Yamaha that the bike was running perfectly. When I went to pick it up he said I was just going to call you we dumped your bike and there are $2000 in damages, also it will probably be fall before we can get the parts to repair it. I agreed to take my bike and bring it back later to be repaired. When Andy went to get my bike it wouldn't start. When he called Yamaha they told him the check the main harness, which I had been telling them for four years to do. Yes the main harness was melted but according to Andy it wasn't were they had added an additional cable so it would not be covered by warranty and would $1,235 to repair. The end of the story is I drove my low mileage spotless motorcycle in and it would take a trailer to haul a wrecked bike away. They gave me a lowball offer that I felt I had no real choice but to accept. When they finally wrote the check it was for less than they had offered and it was 'well take it or leave it'. Went to Hienens to look at a Tige RZR boat they had listed as new. I called ahead to make sure they had the boat, which they said they did. When I got there someone had apparently taken the boat out to use.....a new boat? So it wasn't there. They said come back in a couple hours and it will be here....but I called 20 minutes ago and you said you had it??? So two hours later I go back and yes the boat is there now. This is listed as a new boat on their website. Turns out it's a demo boat with over 90 hours on it, and has extensive cosmetic damage down both sides of the hull. Do you think anyone bothered to tell me this before I wasted a whole Saturday waiting around for this boat to show up after i was told it was there? Nope! Save yourself a giant headache and go somewhere else for service. Seriously. I've had many toys in many shops and have never dealt with a shop as incompetent or that cares as little as these guys. It took them 7 months to fix my bike. Paul, the owner, is so scared of his own customers he refuses to even talk to them to find out why they are unhappy. I suspect this is what happens when you are handed the family business and never have to care about customers or building a reputation. Seven months and $2600 later, and being assured they tested everything thoroughly, it took me less than 5 minutes of riding to identify they didn't even bother to balance the wheels after putting on new tires. Immediately took it in to another shop and am now spending another $450 to fix all the stuff these idiots did wrong including balancing the tires and adjusting the throttle sync. Go somewhere else. Do not bring your bike here. Do not let your friends bring their bikes here. Do not let your family bring their bikes here. Full story Dropped off my bike last August for tires, brakes, and to diagnose a coolant leak problem. They had my bike for 3 weeks before even looking at it. I finally got tired of waiting and called. "Oh, right, what did you want us to do again?" I should have picked up the bike then and there. Spent the next 7 months being ignored until I would call asking for updates only be told excuses. Somewhere around month 6, after being assured the engine was done, I show up unannounced and walk into the service area. The engine is still scattered across the lift in pieces, the bike is off to the side leaning against a box. This is after my last call with Andy, the service manager, during which I was threatened to be charged for winter storage fees on top of my actual charges because I dared to complain. They actually threatened to charge for winter storage for performing a job it took them the entire winter to do. Out of pure frustration I email Paul Heinen, yes the owner, and explain that the service I've been receiving is unacceptable and ask to talk. He throws me a canned response about work being dictated by weather and that it is hard to find good mechanics so everyone is having to wait longer than usual. I wait for the promised call. No call comes. I finally send Paul another email: "I've had months of being misled and failed expectations which has recently turned into flat out lies and being threatened with additional charges for voicing my dissatisfaction, and we are now on day 3 for a simple phone call for you to understand why you have an unhappy customer. When are we going to have this discussion? " This is his reply: "I'm out of the dealership this week. I was going to give you a call from my cell, but after your email here I'm not going to allow you to have my personal number. Calling people names is inappropriate and disrespectful. Andy is the service manager and is your only contact from here on out. The tech you spoke with did not take your visit with him in a positive way. Because of this, you are NOT allowed to go into the mechanic's area for any reason unless accompanied by Andy. Your bike is on track to be done within the next 3 weeks. If you have any questions please contact Andy." Yep, that's the owner ladies and gentlemen. Too scared of his own customers to even bother to discuss the issues at hand. Rather than caring in the slightest about the issues being raised against his shop, he pretends it is all just mean name calling and ignores it entirely. During my unannounced visit to the shop I was talking to one of the other techs trying to understand what the heck was going on and why everything takes so long. He summed it up perfectly for me, "I don't know man, I'm new here so I just do what I'm told but I can tell you this place is an absolute sh*t show." That's straight from their own employee. Go. I brought my bike in for new tires and a tune up because it was running rough before my big trip. After repeated calls I received my bike the day of my trip. The bike ran fine for twenty miles then started running really rough. Got down to Iowa and the motor quit and needed a jump. Long story short I made it back and they tell me it was just bad gas. Its in the shop now and they call and say their wasn't enough gas in the tank even though I brought it in with a half tank. The parts manager even admitted there was something wrong. I bought I used 2017 Honda crf250l with 1,839 miles on it from them on 3/02/2021. Paid $4,499 for a used cycle. Couple months go buy and I have not received a title for it. Little did I find out it was a salvage title bike that I found out my self no calls,emails or letters saying any update on my title for the bike. The best they could do is give me $500 and tell me have a good day. Why would I buy a salvage title bike that wasn't even in there name when they sold it to me. Now I have to go thru all the work to have my bike re inspected from the sate and pay fees out of my pocket and then I might get a title for in 6 months down the road when end of riding season is done. This seller however would not accept PayPal, but instead required either: "Wire (bank) transfer, cash in person, or certified check/and or funds. Payment must be received within 7 days of initial purchase." I had to go to my bank to acquire a Cashiers Check #541121 for over $8,700.00, and also had to Priority Mail (Tracking Number: 9505513809766196007414) the Cashiers Check to get to the Seller by the 7 Day deadline. I purchased the Cashiers Check on the very next day following the end of the auction being July 14th, and Priority Mailed the check the same day. The seller however on July 15th, without having any contact with me, without sending me an invoice, and without making any payment status inquiry, reported me to eBay as a Non-Payment Case. I sent an eBay Message to the Seller and contacted eBay support by phone to report the sellers actions, and Seller removed unpaid case the next day on July 16th when they discovered their error. The following Wednesday July 20th, I received a call on my sell phone from Heinen's Motorsports Sales Manager named Monte, and he said "your motorcycle is all crated and ready to ship, and I can get it about 1 1/2 hours away from you to a trucking terminal in the LA area, or if you pay another $199.00, we can ship it to your house". I replied by saying that wasn't what was stated in their eBay Listing, which was clearly written as: "Delivery: We can personally deliver this bike just about anywhere! USA Delivery THIS WEEK ONLY for $199!!" They initially stated they "personally can deliver almost anywhere, but continue to state very clearly "USA Delivery THIS WEEK ONLY for $199!!" I live in the eight largest city in the US and second largest in California, and last I checked, San Diego is in the United States. I told Monte that I wasn't going to pay an additional fee to deliver the motorcycle to the address listed on my eBay account, and he said he would talk to Paul Heinen (the owner) and check other options and get back to me. Days passed with no response, so on Jul-26-16 01:54, I sent a message through the eBay Messaging system asking if the motorcycle had shipped yet. Numerous eBay Internal Messages and emails followed throughout the day culminating with: 1) my demanding a full refund by Certified Funds (just like they required) , 2) their statement that a refund would be mailed the same day on July 26th, 3) my leaving Negative Feedback on eBay for this transaction in which they failed to honor their own sales terms. Their sarcastic emails from someone without nerve enough to identify themselves is indicative of an inherited business rather than one built with ones own efforts. Don't go by their Feedback shown on eBay, because they have pull with eBay that seems to remove their Negative Feedback as soon as it's left. I intend to address this issue also. Despite some negative reviews, I took a chance and bought a new (old stock) motorcycle from Heinen's (2014 MV Agusta F3 800) and it was a smooth process. Even with the extra step of having the bike shipped from MN to CA - it was such a KILLER deal I just couldn't pass it up! They arranged the shipping and the bike arrived with 1 mile on the clock and without any major problems. I had it shipped to a local MV dealer who looked it over for me before handing over the keys. The only issue they found was a low battery that wouldn't take a charge which isn't surprising since it was sitting in a crate for the last few years and F3's are notorious for crap batteries. So they put in a new battery and flushed all the fluids just to be safe. Not a big deal and I was happy to get the extra piece of mind. The only reason I'm giving 4* instead of 5 is the communication wasn't perfect. E.g. I'd send an email asking 3 questions and they'd only answer 2 of them, so I'd have to follow up. They said they'd update me on the shipping of the bike by Tuesday and when I didn't hear from them by Thursday I contact them and - "Oh, we shipped it out yesterday." That kind of stuff. They seem more understaffed than anything else. I'm pretty easy going so it wasn't a big deal but I can see how other people would be really annoyed by that. Stored my bike here off a craigslist add Kyle the service manger posted for 100$ for the winter. Great price! . Horrible horrible horrible service. Not only did they not call me and tell me what was happening, Paul the owner then denied that they even took my bike for storage for this price from Kyle. I called Heinen August 2016 about my stored bike after it had been stored since November 2015. Obviously, this had been far past there winter storage. They never called me about this. I had extreme life circumstances that had not allowed me to get my motorcycle in May 2016 and wanted to make sure they were still aware. I was told it would be 249$ storage fee for the next season which I was against to due the price I had paid prior but accepted due to life and no options at this time. Come spring 2017 I now get call saying they have my bike and if I want to come get it. Andy, now the new service manger, stated there were extensive storage fees on the bike. I was NEVER called or informed of this. After calling them back promptly Andy then told me they were charging me 5$ / day after not getting the bike last May. I was never told this on the phone in August when I called ... THAT'S WHY I CALLED! I was told it was 249$ for the storage for the next season. They lied to my face when I went to get the bike. Andy told me they had called me multiple times which they obviously didn't. He said "we call every couple months". Had I received a call about my bike I would have made other arrangements immediately. I never signed a contract saying any of these charges yet Heinen and Paul still held me to there apparent polices and decided to charge me daily storage fees In the amount of 2600$. My old Suzuki is not even worth 1000$ in the condition it is in. After talking to Paul extensively he told me it would be 600$ to get my bike out. Absolutely horrible costumer and contractual service. I had to pay this amount to get my bike out that had damage and wasn't even worth it. Andy told me, "we called you multiple times" and had "notes on when they called" but when I asked when they called he told me August 2016 which is when I called them! Had I known any relation to charging 5$ / day or the 600$ storage fee I would have went and picked it up immediately. I was told 249$ for the next season and nothing else was communicated to me. Of course I tried to talk to Paul the owner about it. He was negligent in his practice of handling and storing the bike and I absolutely would never have his team do work on my Suzuki. I am completely disappointed with Heinen. I even tried talk to the sales department about rolling this into a new bike. Ugh. What a joke. This owner is disconnected from the people he serves and the people that give him business. Do not go here. Stay clear. When I told Andy I was unhappy and going to fight this and offered 300 and then even 400 and said I was going to tell my vast group of friends and family he said " that's fine we have enough business". I was shocked. I had my wife and 4 month old baby with me. Had I known this is what I was getting charged no way I would have stored it there. Thanks guys for the great service you did on my 650 Vstrom. I am on a bucket list trip, starting in Calgary, Alberta, then going to Newfoundland. I am gong home through the USA, and knew my rear tire would need replacement somewhere along the way. I called your service department, talked to Andy, and he said he could do the job on Saturday. I arrived at your shop late Thursday afternoon after making better time than expected on the road. I checked in, just to see if the tire had arrived, and was prepared to come back Saturday morning. They surprized me and said they had an opening in the service department and could do the job while I waited! Wow! I'm impressed. read more

I'd like to start by saying this happened in 2014 when I bought a Kymco scooter from them. Called and told them I'd like to buy the scooter online on Wednesday and I would be down Friday to pick it up. Get to the dealer write the check. Get ready to load up the scooter and the guy takes it for a spin, comes back and he's pushing the scooter. So now I go back inside and the mechanic tells me go hangout for a bit inside it'll be a little while. So now I go talk to the sale manager and he tells me to go have lunch and come back in a few hours..... I said I called Wednesday and told you I'd be there Friday, you think you guys would have it ready to pick up and send me on my way. I also asked if he was going to buy me lunch because now I'm waiting around for two hours. It gets better. I go back two hours later after my "lunch". The scooter is running and drives so I load it up. Go to my friends in Albertville. Unload scooter take it down the road and it dies. Wont start and wont run again. Now they're closed over the weekend and I'm heading back to Fargo Moorhead to where I live with a 2,000 dollar scooter that doesn't run. So me being the wonderful person I am. Drive home with a scooter that doesn't run, doesn't work, So I cancel my check written to Dip Sh*t motorsports with my bank for 30.00 dollars. Monday comes around and I call and let them know they can A. either come up to Fargo Moorhead and pick up their scooter. Or B. they can call the Kymco rep and get me in the dealership today in Fargo Moorhead and get this fixed. Or they'll never see a check from me. They threating me telling me its theft. I said its sitting outside not in my possession come get the piece of junk. Paul Heinen himself tells me its not like you bought an 80,000 dollar boat. I told him them should be no problem if I keep my check and keep your junk scooter you sold me. After two weeks of fighting with these idiots in Osseo they get me in my dealership in Fargo and Kymco fixes the issue of a bad float In the carburetor. I would never buy a 2000 dollar scooter. Let alone an 80,000 boat from these yahoos. And remember if they screw you, call the bank cancel the check, and make them sweat it out. They lie. They sell junk. Paul's a crook. And his whole sales staff and management are crooks. Take your money to the 200+ other dealerships in Minnesota and buy from anyone but Paul Heinen. Paul I'm sure you remember me, since you wrote a**hole on my check memo. Well by the looks of it, you sir are the a hole and lots of people and their wonderful one star reviews are proving it. Brought our Yamaha scooter (that was running great) in for oil change/basic check since I was driving it downtown to work. They indicated that it needed carburetor work and they charged over $400.00 and said it was ready. My husband did not even get a block from their shop and it was not running well at all. He brought it back. Two weeks later and they said it needed a whole new engine!??? My husband talked to the owner who refunded us our money for the carburetor work and said he would talk to a dealer to try and get us a deal on a new one. Never heard back from him in 3 weeks. They had it for almost two months and were so unprofessional in so many ways. Two comments they made that tells all: "My guy is not used to working on a scooter like this." Then why did they say they could fix it? Because, "We don't like to turn work away." We are not ones to complain, but we would highly avoid bringing anything to this shop for repairs. read more

Very poor customer service. 10 people who work there would rather visit with each other then help customers. Been there many times, own many toys, I will not give them any of my money. I don't see this retail store staying in business much longer. read more
