This was my first time buying a car from a dealership and it couldn't have been easier thanks to Amanda Vang and Val Norton. I think many women would often agree that car buying and auto servicing to be an intimidating and condescending experience. With minimal car knowledge I felt like I always am over charged or pressured, rather than actually helped. This was not the case at Buerkle Honda. I was helped right away by Amanda and she was so kind, helpful and patient with me. She gave me options on what works best for my needs, not what benefitted her the most. Val went right to work on helping me finance the vehicle, finding me the best rate through a credit union and explaining the loan and best way to tackle payments. It felt like for once the sales team had my best interest and wanted to make this experience great. I am in love with my pre-owned GMC Canyon and feel like I was able to get it at a fair price with terms I can manage. Also, the service team was also great in thoroughly looking over the truck to ensure everything was looking good. Be upfront about repair costs and items that actually need replacing. I had my worst car repair experience ever! I went in thinking they would be a good place to have my Honda repaired, especially since it was covered by a 3rd party warranty. They found the problem which was a head gasket and started in on the repair. After 8 days they finally started the repair. They never warned me that doing this repair could result in further problems. Well, they had big problems caused by their technician. I got a surprise phone call telling me that the technician broke my turbo while taking the engine apart. They said something about it being fused to the metal and they had to break it to get to the head gasket. They said that I would have to pay for the overpriced new turbo otherwise I would have no working vehicle. It was over $2500. Then they said the timing chain was no longer serviceable and had to be replaced for another $900. My vehicle is only worth about $7000 but they basically had me over a barrel and I had no choice but to proceed. No warning about extra costs above the head gasket (which was covered by my 3rd party warranty). They ended up getting around $10,000 for the repair, which by the way took 29 days to complete and they were charging me $50/day for a loaner. My out of pocket costs were $4500. They rarely returned texts or calls and said something about the phone systems being upgraded. To make matters worse, my car now has an issue where it shake and vibrates at 35 mph and has a loss of power on acceleration. This wasnt happening before they worked on it. I took it back and they tested it and said they couldn't find anything wrong with it but would gladly do extensive testing for $185/hour. So they got $10,000 out of me and I have a sketchy driving car that feels like it could break down everytime I drive it. Im out the cost of the repairs and the value of the car because it has lost most of its value because it runs like crap now. read more

First, it took more than 5 minutes waiting for a service agent to even acknowledge the fact that I have been waiting for rather longer than normal. No hi, hello or we will right back. Buerkle Honda WAS a great place to buy our first few CR-Vs. Unfortunately, our last sales and service experience was not great. Previously, sales helped pair cell phones, adjust the myriad digital options, and answer all our questions before we drove off. The last sales person didn't help with set up. "It's fine" When I asked for suggestions about the paddle shifters, "don't use them." 2025 Honda CR-V Hybrid's first routine service today for oil change and tire rotation was awful. A promised a 75 minute turn around turned into 180 minutes. My first inquiry at 120 minutes was ignored. Would not recommend this dealer!! My wife's 2020 CRV had the Turbo go out, which shouldn't have been a big deal because it was still under Honda warranty and we had extended warranty as well. They questioned that the oil maintenance was not properly completed, although they performed 3 of the 4, the last one we had done locally (with receipts). After weeks of waiting Honda chose to fix the turbo but not engine components that Buerkle's service recommended. Service guy basically said he wouldn't trust just the turbo repair, albeit to scare us so salesman could try and lowball us into selling it so we would buy new. Salesman ran numbers but conveniently forgot to mention our refund from Extended Warranty until I questioned him due to my own researching information (via WI Honda dealer). Hard to trust this dealer after above tactics and then to top it off we sent warranty cancellation to them one week after, 3 weeks later no check! Are these licensed mechanics working at this place? I took my car in for a battery replacement. Four weeks later the brand new battery was completely dead, I had to jump it several times. I took it back to Buerkle Honda who installed the battery. They had to completely recharge it to check and see if it was a faulty battery. The battery test came back good so they said they needed to run a diagnostic test but the first available appointment was in three weeks. I then drove the car to the Richfield Bloomington Honda to have a diagnostic test that same day. It came back as a loose battery connector. Really?!? Buerkle Honda couldn't figure that out when they charged my battery or when they tested it? read more

I really didn't want to leave this review, but since the service manager/director chose to be rude and dismissive, here we are. I brought my car in for a recall repair. I was told it would take about 5 hours, but later that day I received a call saying they never even got to it. Fine--I appreciated that they provided a loaner. However, I didn't hear from them again for two more days, when they finally said the work was done. They sent a service report recommending immediate repairs, including new wiper blades--even though we had just installed brand-new ones the week before. That was the first red flag. When I picked up my car, the rear camera wasn't functioning properly. I brought it to my service advisor's attention, and his response? A casual excuse that "cameras go out sometimes." We asked to speak with the service manager and were told he'd call. The next day, we got a text saying he had left early--but we never heard from him again. Then things got worse. The next morning, my car started acting like it was about to shut off--even though it had a full tank of gas. This continued until it finally stalled completely. We had it towed back, thinking it might be related to the recall repair they had just done. The response? A call telling us it had nothing to do with them and that I needed a new motor. When we finally got in touch with the service manager/director, he was rude, dismissive, and disrespectful. He even made a snide comment about how many miles I had driven since the recall repair--sorry, but I had to take my child to critical medical appointments nearly 3 hours away. Am I not supposed to use my car for that? He repeatedly cut off my boyfriend during the conversation, talked down to us, and made it clear they were washing their hands of the situation. They're now refusing to do any further work on the vehicle, which at this point is honestly for the best. Just a word of advice: Treat your customers with respect. Don't assume people are clueless. And don't make personal judgments about someone's situation--especially when your own shop failed to deliver basic customer service and follow-through. read more

We have an old Honda Civic that had an intermittent warning going off on it-we paid for diagnostic testing. They did come up with various scenarios to solve the problem with a $2549.40 cost to "fix" the problem (which might not have been a problem but sensor problem instead). They charged us for the diagnostic and were completely HONEST about the problem (not really sure what it would take to fix it). As a woman, I totally loved their transparency about what it would take to fix it and the honesty that they weren't sure exactly what was up. Took my car in at 8am for a recall work (recall 23V-704). Service advisor called at 4pm to tell me there was no work done on the car and it's ready for pick up. Why couldn't they have told me this earlier in the day? When I went to pick it they didn't have available "runners" so I had to make the run to get my own car while half a dozen service advisors sat and watched and none offered to do it. They also lied and said my car was washed, but it had dirt on it lol such petty thing to lie about! Here's the worst part: as I drove off the parking lot, my TPMS Light came on and it needed to be serviced. I'd never had this issue prior to dropping off my car at the shop. I called Buerkle right away but apparently they were closed and the operator said lights are off and no one is there as she could see on camera. Next available appt is two weeks out. Maybe I'll have a positive update then, but I won't hold my breath. Zero start for now. Also, this isn't my first terrible experience with this place. I should've known better. I came here to get my car remote cause I lost it! I went to the one in Brooklyn Park first and was told that they ran out of my car remote and was going to charge me $118 if were to get it, Luckily, he called around and found one in Maplewood. I drove all the way from Brooklyn Park. When I got there, the guy that helped me in the service repair department was very NICE AND HELPFUL. He charged me 98 bucks for the remote. I was glad that he charged me that price. We recently brought our Honda back for regular service, not for repair. It needed a few scheduled things done that I didn't want to do myself. We bought it at Buerkle 4 1/2 years before. It had never been back because There was no reason. It had been trouble free. I was a bit concerned that I might pressured into service that wasn't really needed or required. I'm very pleased to report that was not the case at all. We were treated very well, were informed about everything they did and why. They gave us a very complete report on the car and what maintenance would be required in the future. I really love this dealership. The service center staff is always calm, cool and so helpful when I come in for oil changes. They have a great (huge) customer lounge with lots of cozy seating and nooks and many different TV areas, tables, and even an impressive charging dock with multiple device charging cords. Free coffee and 6 different teas to select from, vending machines and nice modern bathrooms that always feel clean. I bought a used car form this dealer. I discussed with them a lift gate issue. it worked intermittently. My sale rep told me to take it to the Acura dealer that they could not work on it as a Honda dealer. I though this was odd. he did not put a time line on when i needed to do this. I took the car to the Acura dealer today and was charged full boat for the repair. I called and spoke to sales manager who told me nothing short of sorry you waited too long to get it repaired. I had this issue with the Honda dealer in Brooklyn Park - poor service so I have been avoiding Honda. I like the cars but not the sales/service. It is really a shame that people do not stand behind what they say and sell. Guess that is a lesson learned - an Acura is nothing more than an expensive Honda. Lesson learned. Here is my review of my previous visit to there service department. Service on 2006 Honda Accord. Got there an hour early, no problem, took it right in. Work done timely, and what I paid was less than quoted. Very happy with the service I received. My only complaint is that the battery I had replaced was only 30 months old!! Was no prorated due to it already being a replacement for a battery that only lasted 36 months. Warranty goes from 1st battery purchased. I am kinda concerned that 2 batteries lasted less than the 100 month warranty on the battery. So did I get new batteries or refurbished batteries. No happy about having to buy a new battery. Stay away from dealership. Classic bait and switch ads. Claimed that their internet pricing didn't say what it did. Then claimed it only did on one vehicle, not all the other identical ones. Their internet pricing showed all of the identical vehicles at the identical lower price, but once you are in the dealership they have as blocking content up so that you can't pull up the same ads. We were out and out lied to. Still waiting on the "second" key fob we were promised to receive. They said they couldn't locate it, but would mail it the next day. It's been almost two weeks. They put the wrong vin number on all documents that we signed, then changed all documents, including ones sent to state, without our signatures On the changes ones. My 2018 CRV has a problem with ALL the trouble lights going off at the same time. Seems to be a common issue with this model and year though Honda does nothing about it. These lights went on about 3 weeks ago and I decided to make an appointment with Buerkle Honda which was scheduled for 10/30/23 at 7 am. On Friday the 27th, all of the trouble codes had cleared and I called and spoke to the service department. I asked if they still wanted to look at the car since all of the lights were off? The service person stated they would talk to someone else (mechanic I believe) and call me back. He called back in about 30 minutes and said to bring it in Monday as planned as they felt they could still help me. After taking time off from my work schedule and arranging for a ride, I arrived at Buerkle at 7 am only to be told there was really nothing they could do because the trouble lights were off. I was told they could search a few issues but there was no way to pin point the problem. I explained what I was told on Friday and the worker said we would not speak to a mechanic about that issue and we usually give the customer the option to keep the appointment. I asked to speak to the service person I talked to friday and was told there was no way to find that out. It was a waste of my time and a huge inconvenience! With all the dealers and mechanics out there to choose from I will go elsewhere from now on and I suggest others do the same. read more
