I purchaed a Honda ATV from Moon Sports in 2012 and lost one of my ignitions keys. I called them to see if they had a key. They said yes after checking my previous order by using my telephone number. They did tell me they do not cut any keys. I said ok but the blank key they gave me was incorrect. When I returned the wrong key, which was cut to my spare, they told me it was my responsiblity to bring a working spare so they could match as there were four different types a keys fo my ATV. read more

I was intimidated to come here but I still decided to drive 48 minutes to check this place. It was recommended from many people. I was greeted on the way in and on the way out Buy a young lady at the front door. Staff very polite excuse me style. Nobody pressed me. They saw me looking. I went everywhere checking. Many agents were busy selling and explaining. Nice collection. Nice show room. I felt like at the five stars hotel. Pretty clean wide. The YaMaha TriCity 300 and the Honda cub 125 off-road friendly won't be on the market till 2021. Those are the only two I'm interested in for now. I worked with Lindsey from the parts desk to order up some new KLIM gear prior to my upcoming cross country road trip. KLIM had no ETA on the pants. About 2 weeks prior to my trip Lindsey contacted me and notified me that my pants had an updated ETA that would miss my trip, so she went out of her way to order up another pair of pants from another dealer across the country to ensure I had them in time. Brought my son in after seeing the new gasgas mce-2. Great bike for kids. Listed as 2199 on their site. Nothing within the page related to that bike talked about any other fees. We drove up, told them we would take it. They came back with an additional $500 in fees. The bike was now 2700 plus tax. If you go to the very bottom of the page on their site you will find the fine print. You have to scroll through other recommendations. I was told by the sales manager that these fees are charged by the manufacture and there is nothing you can do about it. I called Larson Motorsports in Cambridge. Super friendly family owned business. They had a very small fee on top of the msrp and were very straight forward. read more

I had a 1992 Yamaha 250 2 stroke that some work. I called the service desk to schedule an appointment, and after I said the year of the bike, the guy said "whoa, we dont work on anything that old". I was blown away! I understand that parts may not be easy to come by, but come on! For the sales team, there is one guy that is super great. but if he is not there, they will take a different walking path to overt you. I actually was soo frustrated, I had yelled out "can I speak to a salesman please"? I guy came out from somewhere, and asked if I needed something. I said that I had a few questions on a bike. He said that he didn't know much on the bike and said that he would get someone out to assist. Another guy came out as was really smug on answering my questions. I was on the fence about getting the bike in question, but the pompus attitude got me the heck out of there. read more

Scheduled oil change and initial check-up for my new Triumph Bonneville at Moon Motorsports, as I bought the bike there. Also needed a quick recall inspection of a wiring harness. Was told it would take about 2 hours. Strike 1: I waited nearly 4 hours - no explanation and no apology was given. Strike 2: the charge was nearly $300 for the oil change and inspection of about 20 items. My BMW dealership does all that for free! Note that there was no charge for the recall inspection. Strike 3: oil leaks in the back of my truck bed. At first I thought they screwed something up, but it was just sloppy work - didn't wipe down the oil under the bike after draining and a rag did the trick. They offered to pick up the bike, fix it and return it, which I appreciated. Didn't need to do that, since it was just messy work...but added to the rip-off cost, the sloppy work was really salt in my wound. read more

If you are not buying new and not buying something you can't get somewhere else then maybe... I know they don't have a huge markup on used bikes, still I wouldn't recommend them after my experience. I bought a used Ducati Panigale R there. It's a beautiful bike and the price they had couldn't really be beat. They have a good sales end on bikes but the customer service is beyond lacking. When I first rode the bike which is cool that they let you, it had obvious shifting issues. I talked to them even on the sale of the bike and said something is wrong with the shifting. It was sort of brushed aside and we went through with the sale anyways. Later that week I had them check the shifting, and it obviously had bad gas in the bike. So it was running rough till I rode it out that day. Either way the shifting was still off. The tech that checked it out said it was fine and I should try other modes like wet mode (as if I don't know how to ride)... Here is the irony it has a cnc rear set which is the gp edition. Guess how it was setup? Yep for regular shift so the linkage was rubbing on the frame. I had another person look at it from Farrell Racing and he saw the issue in two seconds. After that I went back to Moon explained the issue and got told, "well take care of it." So they came picked it up and this time they called me back realizing it wasn't working. They told me it might be three weeks to get the part and it was only partially there. The guy I was working with calls me on Friday saying he will be off next week but someone else knows of the issues. So the next week I was able to drive in and talk to them about it. They told me the part would be there that week which is good. They get it fixed up and call me to settle up. I end up with a bill for $375 which he says he will knock $100 off... OMG had I known this was going to be an issue up front I would have gone anywhere else. What does, well take care of it mean? I can't see recommending anyone to go here for anything other than new and get it served somewhere else. read more

The move to new quarters brought a renewed focus on customer service on the sales floor. Gone are the lackadaisical attitudes, replaced by helpful, friendly sales staff who will help when needed and back off when not. I appreciate the vastly expanded selection of accessories and clothing, all fairly priced (sale items particularly so). What is unchanged? The crack service team. Service Manager Brian Aurentz has been with Moon forever, as has master BMW mechanic Earl Moon. The service team is honest, skilled, and quite simply a pleasure to work with. Though I have other options closer to me, I will without question drive the 50 miles one way to have Moon work on my bike. I do this because I know I will be treated with respect, courtesy and honesty, and my bike will be fixed right, the first time, for a fair price. My highest recommendation for this outfit is given without reservation. read more

I had been trying to buy a particular bike from the Minneapolis dealers for a while, and after a fair amount of frustration I called up Moon. In 5 minutes, they were able to answer questions I had been waiting weeks to get answers to. After waiting for the other dealers to respond, I finally called up Moon and ordered the bike site unseen. When I arrived at the location, a fair distance away from me, I was pleasantly surprised by the immaculate show room, and their selection of bikes. They apologized sent me a gift card, as if that makes it better. The work I paid quite a bit for, I don't think was done or done correctly. They say they pride themselves on customer service, but I took it in the tailpipe. All I wanted was for them to look again at my 4 wheeler, but that would be admitting they didn't do the work correctly. An engine blowing the crankshaft through the housing after 12 miles after Moon servicing it is something to look at. Extremely disappointed in the service and customer service didn't exist. read more

I have been dealing with the Moon staff for years, and have never had a problem. I mainly stop in for parts and or the service dept. Communication and price up front is never been an issue. I do tend to ask a lot of questions so I know what to expect. I sometimes stop in, just to look the inventory with no intent to buy, and I am always treated with respect from the staff who are also fellow motorcycle enthusiast. **** UPDATE****** Ok, so maybe I jumped the gun with my review and have changed my rating based on recent experience and communication with the service department. I received a call from the original contact person and we cleared the air. They have the bike now and I'm waiting to hear how the repairs and maintenance come out. ***** PREVIOUS REVIEW***** I'd say my review is mixed. Definitely not what I expect from a service department in terms of customer service. But once I got them to do what they said they would do, the finished product was good. On 2 separate occasions spanning a few months, the communication and follow through from the service department staff was unacceptable. Most recently I spoke to 2 different people on 2 separate dates to schedule a pickup and service for my motorcycle. On both occasions they did not show on the day they said they would pick up, and did not call to reschedule. Each time I gave them an alternate person to contact in case they could not reach me. I guess I'll have to take my service business elsewhere and I probably wouldn't buy a new motorcycle from them. read more

Never trust anything there sales members or owner say! I bought an aprilia scooter from them a few years back in fall. I purchased extended warranty Kevin the owner at the time told me I would be able to get all the service done on the scooter at there shop. I was concerned because there is no other aprilia dealer writhing 80 miles of my house. So driving two hours plus to get a scheduled service was out of the question. But I bought the scooter on assurance that I would have the work done there.(the salesman tells me don't worry we have been selling aprilia for decades! So I payed just under 6 grand cash for the scooter and extended warranty in fall. I put about 400 miles on the scooter over the next month until winter. Spring comes around I bring the scooter checked all the fluids made sure battery was good. So my wife hops on the aprilia goes down the block and the bike stops.. I walk down there to see what happened. Everything looked good, got oil, got gas, got battery juice but won't turn over... So I call Moon Motorsport to try and get it looked at. So on the phone the manager tells me " we don't deal with aprilia anymore" I was pissed! I said I bought this less than 6 months ago on assurance that it would get worked on here! So Kevin says we'll bring it in we will take a look at it. I bring the scooter. They called me back two days later and tell me there nothing they can do cause I ran it out of oil. I said that's impossible I jjust made sure the oil was filled before my wife rode it! I go to pick the bike up from moon at is literally in pieces and they hand me a big box with all the parts they took of. I snapped! I said what the hell is this! I brought my bike in here in one pieces not a big box of parts! They tell me again "we don't work on aprilia"... I wrote the bbb and the owner about the problem. I ended up getting back my extended warranty money aboot 700.00. But was still stuck with a 5,000.00 paper weight! Moon motor sports is about nothing but greed and disloyalty towards there customers!!!!! read more

I took my 4-wheeler in, which I had purchased there within the last year, on a issue with power steering. We found out that it was in fact broken which was still covered by the manufacture warranty. They did fix the power steering, although, when I picked it up, it was dirtier then it was when I had dropped it off. It clearly sat outside the entire week that it was there and even though it may seem petty to want this type of toy clean when picked up, I would appreciate it to be in the same condition as when I dropped it off. Considering this is a business, you would think that they would treat their customers and the machines they work on with some pride. If they look over something this simple, it makes me question what else is being overlooked. Also, when questions were brought up about the lack of care among other things about the fix, they simply brushed it off. The service is not what you would expect, especially as a continuing customer. Next time, I'm driving the extra miles just to get the better service. Also, I do not plan on making any more recreational vehicle purchases at Moon Motors. Very disappointed. read more
