The atmosphere is excellent because it is right on Lake Michigan outside of the harbor. It has a lake view in the backyard and plenty of seating as well as yard games to keep it fun and entertaining, especially if you had kids. This is a beloved spot for us because it used to be Yum Yum tree, our favorite candy shop! The man working was relatively helpful and efficient. We were able to choose a variety of wines based on flavor, profiles, reds, and white, sparkling, flat dry and sweet. They also had other cocktails and a beer list available as far as bites. It is small bites, like cheeseboard charcuterie, and I believe soft pretzels when the cheeseboard came out, it was locally sourced cheeses from door County Wisconsin, and that was definitely the highlight. the crackers were club, Ritz and the dollar multigrain crackers you can buy at a regular grocery store so nothing to write home about, but it was at least nice to have local cheeses. We weren't completely sold on the wine but that might be due to our own choices from the flight. Overall, if you're looking for a place to kill some time or have a quick glass of wine or a flight, this is a good stop if it is open!

If I could give Lake Fire Winery more than five stars, I absolutely would!…read more From the moment we walked in, Austin made the experience exceptional. His wine recommendations and tasting guidance were spot-on, but what truly impressed me was how he explained why I disliked dry wines. He took the time to teach us about wine in a way that was engaging, approachable, and incredibly informative. I even found myself fact-checking a few of the things he shared afterward--and he was absolutely right! I left with a much better understanding of wine and a completely different appreciation for it. The wines themselves were outstanding. Every sample was thoughtfully selected, and we loved them so much that we ended up taking home three bottles. It's rare to find a winery where every recommendation feels like a winner, but Lake Fire nailed it. The winery itself is just as memorable as the wine. The atmosphere is trendy, upscale, elegant, and welcoming all at the same time. My favorite spot was the charming outdoor garden tucked behind the tasting room. Sitting in the sunshine with a glass of incredible wine while overlooking the water felt absolutely magical. Lake Fire Winery has created something truly special. Between the knowledgeable and passionate staff, award-winning wines, and one of the most beautiful waterfront settings in Door County, this was easily one of the highlights of our trip. We can't wait to come back--and we'll definitely be recommending it to everyone we know!

We just visited Stone's Throw and had a great experience!…read more We intended to just have a glass of wine but decided to have the charcuterie board. The meats and cheeses all were delicious. Our party of 3 all had different wines, I had a Cabernet and it was one of the most delicious wines I've had in recent memory. I also tried a sparkling wine my wife was having and the essence of almond made it even better. In addition the setting outside was very relaxing. They have some oak casks in a display surrounded by flowers and grasses, so you are surrounded by nature along with music that enhances the atmosphere. Our server did a great job taking care of us. We were able to really enjoy the service and relax. We definitely will be returning on our next visit to Door County!

She did a wonderful job guiding us through the tasting and was one of the highlights of our visit. However, I was surprised that there weren't any plain crackers, bread, or even pretzels available to cleanse our palates between tastings. After sampling several wines, the flavors begin to blend together, making it difficult to fully appreciate each wine on its own. I understand not every winery provides palate cleansers, but many do, and it's a simple touch that really enhances the tasting experience. Even plain crackers or slices of bread would make a noticeable difference. Despite that, we enjoyed the wines enough that we joined the wine club and spent over $400 on wine before leaving. That alone should show how much we liked what Stone's Throw has to offer. Because of that, I hope this feedback is taken in the spirit it's intended--not as criticism for the sake of criticizing, but as a suggestion from customers who supported the winery and would love to see an already enjoyable experience become even better.

Flights are so fun and only $15, you also get a free sample of the Oompah Blue - my husband's favorite. They have a salad with a dressing that is somehow made of the oompah wine and it's delicious. The Blue was tasty, and one other wine was acceptable, but the other wine offerings were downright bad. One even tasted and smelled like cleaning solution. Each glass had the same dusty smell to it, so I question the cleanliness of the establishment. Also, the seating area by the bar had decent music playing but the staff also had a television running at the same time, and this created a terrible cacophony. Thankfully, the staff muted the television when requested. Ordered some garlic cheese bread, too. The bread itself was flavorful, and well seasoned, but it was served with a small bowl of ice-cold marinara sauce. The hot food and cold sauce did not pair well together at all. Note on the staff: the kitchen staff were seated at the bar when I arrived, and I could hear their loud, curse-word laden conversations. That's not cool at all. Additionally, not a single staff member was personable; they seemed to barely tolerate my presence. Don't go here. There are many, many other better wineries nearby.

This really surprised me, because it's a semi-sweet wine and I don't like sweet wines! But apparently I like this sweet wine. It had notes of honeysuckle and lemon, and it was served chilled. It would make a good little bottle to sip in the summer. Wine tastings are only $10 for 5 tastes! Whatta deal. They also sell wine by the glass, or by the bottle to go. You can sit at the bar, or take your drinks to one of the tables, or even the patio if the weather is nice. There are some kids' toys and games around, because this winery is kid-friendly, which is cool. In fact, while I was there, a couple came in with their toddler and enjoyed a wine tasting while their kid quietly played. It was nice to see that parents can enjoy a quick wine break even with a kid in tow. During the tasting, I got to learn a little about the winery. They have a vineyard behind the winery where they grow their own grapes. They also get grapes from around Wisconsin and Washington state. This is a little family-run business, and the owners are super friendly and very dedicated to their craft.
