    Holiday grinch bourbon cocktail !
    Jenni W.

This whole place is a VIBE- an absolute must! Small but well utilized space with an eclectic collection of the most random things, further outdone by Christmas decor and the Grinch inspiring a holiday cocktail menu of its own. Beyond classics (ie: old fashioned) they have put together an incredibly unique blend of ingredients you wouldn't expect to elevate your drink. Definitely enjoyed. Will certainly return!

[[HIGHLIGHT]]This place was super cool and unique.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We arrived a few minutes prior to our reservation time and we waited for the hostess at the stand. The host seemed very standoffish from the beginning and just gave us rude vibes. He had us pick a table and he then brought out water and menus. We looked them over and went up to the bar to order. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar area was full with other people so it was really hard to order when this spot is very small.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The host was now there helping out the other bartender and took our orders. Again he gave us a rude tone and took our orders with an arrogant demeanor. The drinks were pretty good, they were fun, and prices were reasonable but the customer service aspect sucked.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I'm such a sucker for a great tiki bar, and Hell or High Water did not disappoint![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The bar is located within another bar, Honor Farm, so it's easy to miss. However, you will need to go through the bar and up the stairs in the back to get to Hell or High Water. [[HIGHLIGHT]]One of my favorite things about tiki bars is the interior design and I absolutely LOVED the decorations here! Lots of di*k imagery, and very LGBTQ-friendly.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My friend and I came on a Tuesday evening after dinner and ordered off the Happy Hour menu. He got a Saturn which was delicious! I ordered a Back From The Dead, a customizable order off their HH menu. I asked the Bartender to make me something with tequila and to surprise me. What I got was so delicious! I really enjoyed interacting with the bartenders and letting them be creative with my custom drink. If you're uncertain or indecisive about a drink, ask them for their recommendations![[HIGHLIGHT]] The vibes here are excellent and I'm looking forward to returning[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]!

As a tiki bar fan this place doesn't disappoint. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The decor is up there with the best.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The drinks are epic. The staff is friendly. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only down side is, this bar is tucked away in jr upstairs loft of another bar and sometimes they have a coverchahe to get in.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] With this being a bar within a bar the wait can be long, but it's worth the wait.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]I had a great time at this bar for a Halloween night out![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] We stopped here before going to a costume party and had some drinks. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The whole place was decorated, the drinks were super creative and fun and the service was amazing.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]Their upstairs tiki bar area was open as well, though we did not venture up there.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Definitely recommend if you're looking for a fun themed bar in this area!

Missing my shoe since I had to use it as a drink deposit!

We always love to check out a tiki bar when we're on vacation so we were excited to find Hell or High Water! My drink used a mug that is in short supply so I had to turn over a shoe as collateral :) [[HIGHLIGHT]]Definitely a fun place to check out before or after dinner in downtown Denver.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]It's a small bar so we opted to get there when they opened at 5pm on a Saturday.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]We were there by ourselves until about 5:15 but when we left at 6 it was getting crowded.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

Was very excited to come here with my sister and cousin. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The inside is super cool and there are so many cool items to look at.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The hostess was rude and not friendly. It was weird. The drinks were good and reasonably priced.

This is my go to in Denver!! This place is amazing, the drinks are expertly crafted, and [[HIGHLIGHT]]the vibe is one-of-a-kind.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]There's no comparison, best drinks, service, and ambiance in the area.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]]

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Well decorated tiki speakeasy on the second floor of the horror bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] [[HIGHLIGHT]]The bar area itself is fairly small but it really leans into the theme which was great.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] I ordered a drink that came in a custom Frankenstein tiki mug (apparently only 50 of these mugs exist) so they ask you to leave behind a shoe to make sure you return the mug lol. Overall amusing experience.

Wow, what a fun place! Place a reservation ahead of time. And also note that the tiki bar is at the second level of the bar. There is limited seating so please be aware of this as you head over here. There are a lot of naughty references and this seems to be a LGBTQ+/LGBTQ+ friendly bar. The menu is so fun with all of the innuendos and the drinks are another level more. Super delicious and a fun time. For some of the drinks, you have to give your ID and a shoe to hold in order to get the drink. This is cause people would break or steal the glass apparently. The bathrooms are downstairs btw so if you are missing a shoe, note that you'll need to go downstairs in your sock.

[[HIGHLIGHT]]Awesome, gay friendly tiki bar.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] Drinks were great. Prices were reasonable for the quality of the drinks and the overall experience. About $17-$20 per drink. Staff was amazing, informative, funny, and service oriented. Will definitely be going back! If you want to sit, I'd recommend making a reservation. They have seasonal Grinch themed drinks right now. You can get food from the samosa place downstairs, but we ate before we came, so can't give thoughts on them.

We heard about the Samosa Shop pop-up in honor farm and purely by chance ended up upstairs at Hell or high water Tiki. The front door staff recommended we hop upstairs since we were early and it is normally packed. By the time we ordered and grabbed a table, we could see it was already filling up. Luckily Samosa king, which by the way is absolutely amazing, delivered our food up to our table, right as our tiki drinks were ready. We loved the attention to detail, the unique flavors, the irreverent cocktail names, and just reading through the menu was entertaining. There's not a ton of space, so I wouldn't come here with a large group, but it was perfect for 2 to 4 people per table. The lighting was dim, the decor was eccentric, the service was quick and overall we loved it here! We'll definitely be bringing friends back for another round

Soooooooo our entire group was so excited to Xmas pop up Holiday bar that was how the Grinch Stole Tiki theme. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The most disappointing theme bar in all of Colorado during our trip downtown and so disheartening to our group of restaurant & bar enthusiasts.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] My family and friends have been so excited about the pop-up Christmas themed bars to experience this year and this was listed as a must see. [[HIGHLIGHT]]Upon walking in the bar you see an archway inviting you to go to the Grinch Who stole Xmas theme part upstairs.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] The sign says to wait for the waiter to be seated. Someone came and took our names and said it would be about a 5-10 min wait. The person checking everyone in stated we could get drinks downstairs but we couldn't bring them upstairs to the theme room. It's the same bar! About 30 mins later finally we were seated. We scanned the QR code to see the special drinks menu. The drinks ranged from from about $17 to $45 each. There is a Mandatory 22% gratuity added to every bill no matter what. [[HIGHLIGHT]]There are two bartenders making all the drinks. One is half naked with no shirt on and in dingy overalls. Didn't know this was that type of strippers male review type of establishment.[[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] There were probably about 40 plus people in the How the Grinch Stole Tiki area. We kept viewing the menu taking in all the decor. We sat at our table for over 20 mins with no service. We saw the hostess tell one table oh just go to the bar & order ya drinks. I asked him if there was a servicer or anyone else taking drink orders. He told us to just order ar the bar and stand in line if you like. My entire table looked at each other and we're appalled. We all got up and said thank you we will find another Xmas themed bar that actually has service. We are not going to the bar to order $17-$45 drinks w/ a mandatory 22% Gratuity added for ZERO service, that is out right ridiculous......So we peacefully left and found a better & great one a Union Station. Tiki was just a waste of time and absolutely not worth it. [[HIGHLIGHT]]The only thing that was somewhat nice is the decorations, weird but ok....Grinch themed with Christmas themed dildos....No joke we were like WTF!!![[ENDHIGHLIGHT]] NO SERVICE , LONG WAITS, NOT WORTH A TRY.

If I could separately rate the food, I would give it a 0. It is objectively atrocious and had our server (Will) not been so sweet, I would have sent the food back. The food came out within 3 minutes of our order, so we knew it was microwaved. The garlic noodles were bitter and had an offer flavor and we barely ate them. The chicken plate was the smallest piece of dry, overcooked chicken breast, wayyyy too much rice, 2 sad and dry rings of pineapple (honestly, out of the can would have been way better), and an undressed slaw. it was $23 and even at $15, it would still have been overpriced. The spam musubi was decent but honestly, I can't imagine how you could mess it up. We may come back for the drinks but we absolutely will not order any food.

Laid back vibe and welcoming staff. Nothing pretentious at all. The bartenders were knowledgeable and gave great suggestions. Always stayed on top of my drinks. The thing I like most about Death & Co is the way the categorize their drinks: Light and playful, bright and confident, elegant and timeless, boozy and honest, and rich and comforting. I had the aqua profunda (cognac, St. George basil eau di vie, lillet rose, strawberry, lime, and absinthe). I also had the eight limb daiquiri (rum, Canada aguardiente, Thai tea cordial, lime leaf, and Maraschino). The Blood Oath (mezcal, Vecchio del capo, Calabrian chili amaro, St. Germain Elderflower, lavender, honey, lemon). All were complex and delicious. You could pick out every flavor, yet everything melded together so well. They also have some basic bar food and snacks, but somewhat elevated. I had the D&C Burger and it was juicy, rich, and had some great accompanying fries. I usually try to give a more in depth idea of cocktails available, but Death & Co has such a diverse menu with so many amazing craft cocktails that I can't offer that this time . . . you'll have to go in and see it for yourself!
