I been coming here since they were on the other side and it was called "Mis antojitos Colombiano" always loved the food and the person who owned it, not sure if it's the same lady. She was always super nice and friendly. Because I live an hour and half away, I only go so often, but anytime I want some Venezuelan food and I don't want to be the one that cooks it, I come here and bring my whole family. The restaurant is super cute and always has music on, but not so loud that you can't hold a conversation with someone.

Visited on a Friday afternoon - restaurant was empty. As I walked in, didn't really receive a greeting. Ordered: Arepa Catira ($9.88) Ground beef empanada ($3.90) My waiter brought 2 packs of sauce to the table, she didn't let me know what they were. Tried both on my food - one was ranch and the other tasted like avocado ranch; not 100%. There was a wait on the food. The ground beef empanada was good; came to the table piping hot. My only con, it was greasy. Initially I wanted to build my own arepa, but it was too expensive; I was looking at $17. Instead I ordered Arepa Catira. If I knew how massive it was definitely would not have ordered an empanada. It was just okay for me.

Great place with fresh authentic food. I had a chicken and mozzarella arepa. Would definitely be back!

This place was great! Loved the food and it was close to what I got in my last trip to Colombia. Wait staff was friendly and food came out great. All the Colombian dishes were tasty. We shared the picada and I sampled the Colombian chicken empanadas. We had the passion fruit and guanábana juice with the meal. I would 100% recommend.

My husband and I got takeout and shared: - Venezuelan & Colombian Empanadas - Pabellón & Arepa con Todo - Mini Arepas Fritas - Queso de Mano Cachapa - Taqueños We also ordered one other thing that we weren't given which was unfortunate. The items we ordered were a bit hit or miss for me. The Taqueños and Cachapa were both delicious. I would definitely get both again. The Arepas were a bit dry for my liking. I'd try dining in next time to see if that helps with the consistency issues.

A fun a delicious place to get a piece of Latin American cuisine. This place offers quite a few options. I ordered a cachapa with pork rinds and a cane sugar lemonade. They were both good. Our server was helpful and friendly, and the ambiance was just like being in a restaurant in Latin America. Beware, this business recently changed owners, so it has a new name: Brasas and Son Restaurant Bar) and the new name is being transitioned online. Also, it's a bit loud, the food smell will stick to your clothes afterwards, and the free parking lot has limited spaces since it's shared with adjacent businesses, so plan ahead. Overall, a great experience.

The food and service were amazing! We took third graders on a field trip to learn about Colombian culture and their foods and to be immersed in the culture and experience. They accommodated our very large group, everyone got their food orders quickly, and all students enjoyed their food. The restaurant is a small but quaint place to enjoy very authentic Colombian food.

I was surprised by the amount of filling in this arepa. Loved that it included shredded beef, chicken, chorizo, pork rinds, cheese and avocado. They also have an option to build your own. Although the chorizo could've been tastier, the dish as a whole was good and filling. The place is not huge, hence it does feel a bit crowded, but I will definitely stop by again to satisfy an arepa craving!

You don't need to go completely out of your way for Brasas, but it was fun to try something different. They have a lot of different options, including a lot of meat and starchy items. The workers were very friendly and it was easy to go with a group. Pros: - Unique options - Good for a group - Friendly service - Tasty sauces Cons: - Lack of healthy options - Although the servers were very friendly, we had to ask for the check twice before getting it What I got: - Picado Criolloa (for 2 people) - It was good but a LOT of meat!

This place is really all about the meat and the arepas (which are delicious) but the FRENCH FRIES are also FAB. LOL My daughter had the Arepa del Gato and she said it was a yummy vegetarian option. (Avocados, cheese & plantains) The chicken was also tender and well seasoned - I think my steak would've been better if I had specified medium rare, so I'll own that. We really liked the sauces and even took some extra with our leftovers. The place has really improved its ambiance since the first time I came here and now serves alcohol. Expect to be greeted in Spanish by a friendly staffer and to eat among native Spanish speakers. We'll def be back!

Brasas is hands down one of the best Hispanic/Latino restaurants in Charlotte. The food is always on point and they never disappoint. My go to is the bandeja paisa but you can't go wrong with their arepas or carne a la bara. If you haven't tried it yet, I suggest you do soon

Food was good. Service was good. But be careful with the check they are charging 8.25% of NC taxes instead of 7.25 as well as adding service charges of 15% to a table of 4. Chequen sus cuentas, les estan cobrando mucho mas de taxes y aparte les incluyen el servicio sin ser mesas grandes.

    Delicious but over priced

Unique compared to some of the more general Latin options, as they really do focus on Venezuelan fare. Parking and decor a plus! All of the appetizers were amazing--we got everything except the tacos. The trio and flight options are truly the way to go here, the flavors are all different and you really need to try them all! The chimichurri here is probably my favorite of all time. The rich smoky flavor is so deep and satisfying, I've never had one so robust. I wish I had done an entree that was smothered in it!!! Next time, for sure. Don't pass on desert. The flan is just right and I appreciated the molasses flavor in the syrup, although my dining partner wished for some lime zest to lighten the dish--preferences can differ!

The restaurant was clean and brightly decorated. There are a few booths on the ground floor and then more seating upstairs, but that section was roped off during our visit. The woman at the register was pleasant and was able to answer a couple questions I had about the menu. She also came over to the table a couple times later while I was eating to check in and see if I needed anything, which was service above what I expected in a fast casual restaurant, so that was appreciated. The order was prepared pretty quickly, and the food was good. Not quite great, but good. The chips were warm, which was awesome, and they were crispy and well-salted. They have a salsa bar with quite a few tasty options. The queso tasted good, but it was very, very thin in consistency. It was impossible to get a chip to your mouth without a trail of cheese dripping across the table (and hopefully not onto your clothes). I also had the Quesabirria. It was very flavorful, but also maybe slightly over-cooked and a bit too chewy. It was a bit messy to eat, as the cheese was oozing out and grease was dripping with every bite. It was a challenge to keep the grease from running down my arm and getting on my clothes. Maybe I was just there on an off night, but the food didn't quite live up to my expectations. A good meal, but it had the potential to be better.

The place looked pretty clean although after ordering my food I noticed the sanitation grade was a 91...yikes. Anyways I went ahead and ate there. So let me start by saying the menu is large, so many different items to chose from and not only Peruvian food. I saw some Colombian and Venezuelan items. With that being said I was very shocked at the lack of standard side items. Literally rice and white rice at that, pinto beans and like one other things. All other sides are considered premium sides and those premium sides would be basic sides at like hello chicken or viva chicken. I got the 1/4 chicken, white meat with reg side of white rice and premium side of plantains. For the dipping sauce I was limited to the yellow mild sauce or the spicy hot sauce. They were all out of the green mild sauce. Just for context I arrived at 11:40, they open at 11. Not sure how they ran out so fast but I would have loved to try it because the yellow sauce was just ok and the red was cold and just spicy no real flavor. Thankfully the chicken was flavorful and juicy, the white rice was white rice and the plantains were cooked beautifully. Also the cashier was great and provided excellent service. All in all, I would visit again but no rush to go back again. Viva Chicken still takes the lead for now for me. I would love them to mature their side menu, increase their sanitation grade and have the green sauce available.
