Amazing ambiance, above and beyond service, and quality comforting food! My sister and stopped here and we were absolutely blown away by the beautiful decor both inside and outside. You truly feel transported the moment you walk in and everyone inside was so friendly! The vibes were relaxed and the cashier was super helpful and patient with us. We ordered lots of things because we were excited to try it all. The loco moco bowl was like biting into a hug and the hello Hilo bowl was equally delicious. I really enjoyed the gravy on the loco moco and the Portuguese sausage on the hello Hilo. The spam masubi was really good and I liked that they offered other flavors besides the standard (lava, cheese, black pepper). My Hawaiian soda was refreshing and fruity and my sister liked her iced coffee but it was a bit too sweet and milky for her taste. The malasadas were very light but we wished they packed more flavor. Overall, I really loved it here and I think they would do well in a location closer towards Atlanta. I wish this place was closer because I would definitely return here even. There is lots of parking, and bathroom available. There is a big drive through area. A nice inside cafe and a heated patio. I got the Huli huli chicken bowl, my mom got the Hilo noodle bowl (cold noodle bowl), and my dad go the teriyaki sliders. The Huli Huli chicken was good. Huli Huli means rotated on a spit (rotisserie ish style) marinated/glazed chicken. This was fine but it was like terriyaki chicken. Not like the huli Huli I got on the way back from the beach in Hawaii. It was good, I wish it was real loli lomi (pickled salmon/tomato side). I wish there was a traditional Kalua pork plate with lomi lomi, slice of taro (Okinawa/purple Japanese sweet potato), and rice plate. Probably one of my favorite things to have while I lived there. My mom had the Hilo bowl. She loved it. They are cold noodles but she loved the some noodles so much she looked up how to buy them and cook them herself. They mention avocado and carrot etc in her bowl but those items were very sparsely added. My dad had the best, the star of the show- the Hawaiian bread sliders. The owner of this establishment is an original owner of the king Hawaiian bread brand we all love. I think this is the thing to order when you're here. Slam dunk kind of meal. He had a POG (passion fruit-orange-guava) juice. He loved it. Like a nectar-juice which was super tasty. I loved musubis so I grabbed some while I was here. I liked them and liked the spam ones as well but if you don't like spam maybe don't get them. But they are a Hawaiian classic and a great post/pre beach/workout snack! Li hung Mui is a plum seasoning kind of has a natural "sweet/sour" flavor. And they had li hing pineapple here. Super tasty! They had malasadas (Hawaiian donuts) they have them all as filled donut options, which looked great. They had mochi donuts (not gf) but delicious. They had dole whips and shave ice (typically option to be served with some sweetened condensed milk on top called a "snow-cap.")which is delicious but not a choice here Overall good food, nice location wish it had more local Hawaiian favorites but I've been told the sliders were the thing to get. Oh my goodness! Can you please open a location closer to Atlanta? We were up in Gainesville for a soccer tournament and looking for a place for the kids to grab a bite and hang out in between games. Fun place to just hang out. Have a few donuts. Play huge connect four and enjoy a beautiful spring morning. The facility is clean and bright. There is an outdoor patio that has swinging chairs, fake turf, and all the large games (think connect four, jenga, cornhole) very quiet, we were the only people there for a very long time. The only critique is staff is less than friendly. But once you get your order you're done with them and going into the beautiful building to enjoy. I was really excited for this to open. I work close to here. The service was really good. Even during the soft opening with a limited menu. I came back the first day of the full menu. This is a cool, trendy place with great service and good food. The Beef Bulgogi sliders are to die for! The fries are good too. A friend of mine is from Maui. Born and raised. She's been a little home sick especially after all the recent things happening with the state so we stopped by for some nostalgia! The Drink: I was really excited they have Kona coffee. I tried a latte with macadamia milk. The Food: I filled up on the dish called Hilo Bay Noodle Bowl which had Avocado, edamame, cucumber, tomato, carrot, tropical fruit salsa, chilled somen noodles, crispy wontons, POG dressing, cilantro, scallion, sesame seeds. Pro Tip ask for the dressing on the side and control on quantity. The potato salad was delicious. It had noodles in it which I have not had before. The pineapple dole whip was perfection. Loco for their Loco Moco... I've only eaten at this place twice and though I want to try the other items on the menu, if it don't broke, don't fix it; and the Loco Moco here is so good. Two panko breaded burger patties on a bed of rice with tomato, cilantro and scallions, and topped with gravy and a fried egg, add in's and take offs are free. I opted for an extra egg. Both eggs were cooked to perfection and were deliciously runny. The gravy was savory and the panko crusted patties added a great texture to everything. I also tried their potato mac salad and the only negative there was it needed some salt, but my mother is the Queen of Macaroni Salad and while this couldn't compare to hers, it was still pretty solid. Overall, it's a great value versus cost, as portions are generous. If I have one complaint, it's that I dislike the paper (cardboard based) bowl they serve the Loco Moco in. The food has a tendency to stick to it after it cools down and it was nearly impossible to eat the leftovers the next day. Also, the lid fit poorly because the bowl got a tad soggy and warped. I can't say for the service this go-round as I actually ordered through Uber Eats, but it arrived timely and was correctly made. 3 of my friends and I decided to do a road trip for lunch here. The weather has been really hot so the idea of getting some tropical food would be a refreshing change. Turned out to be overcast and then some heavy rains going up and coming back, but during lunch and then walking around downtown Gainesville, it was just overcast. It's counter order service and it wasn't too busy when we first walked in. I had looked at the menu before getting there so I had a pretty good idea what I would get. It all looked so good and I would have ordered one of each if I could. Two friends ordered the Hello Hilo bowls, which were a combo of a couple of the dishes. Because this restaurant is associated with Kings Hawaiian Rolls, the third friend ordered the teriyaki sliders. You're given a buzzer for your order, so when it buzzes, you go to the counter to pick up your food. The seating is decent and you could hear some Hawaiian music in the background. There's an outdoor area that has seating under a pergola or seating on the Astroturf grass. There's a tropical feel with the colors on the walls, and the seating One of the managers came by after we finished eating and asked how everything was. We were all very pleased and enjoyed the food. Since we were contemplating dessert, we asked her for suggestion. She said she'd bring us a piece of the Paradise cake for us to try. So we split the one piece. It was a light and airy cake with 3 flavors layered. It had Passionfruit, guava and lime. It looked pretty and hit the spot. She then brought sampling of the chocolate pudding. Each of us said that would go good on the chocolate cake or ice cream or with yogurt. Two of our group went back up to get sweets to go home for later. Yes, there is a bakery for doughnuts and cakes. They are in the counter as you place your order, so you can anticipate your dessert after you finish. Definitely will go back to try other dishes and desserts. Really cute place! I wanted to love it but i was disappointed in the cleanliness of the seating area. When i arrived it wasn't busy so pretty much every table shouldn't have been dirty. We saw this place on an Instagram reel today. Had I known that half of Georgia also saw the same reel we would've waited to go another day. We waited over 40 minutes for our pager to go off. We had a great experience at Hello Hilo yesterday for breakfast. It's been on my radar since before it opened, since they did a lot of influencer marketing. The vibes are awesome. We pulled in and my wife exclaimed "It reminds me of Disney World!" It has a super vibrant, fun atmosphere. The decor is bright and welcoming. The highlight definitely being the outdoor space with lots of different seating options including swing chairs! I had the breakfast bowl with Portuguese sausage. It was very flavorful and different from anything I've had before. The sauce that comes with it is sweet, reminds me of a sweet chili sauce. With all flavors combined, it makes for a delicious bite. My wife had their new breakfast combo featuring breakfast sliders on king's Hawaiian rolls. She enjoyed the spam, egg and cheese sandwich. The highlight for me was the maladadas! I had the lime and wife had the plain whipped cream. Both were soooooo yummy. We had great service as well, the cashier was so friendly and helpful. We were greeted with an enthusiastic "Aloha" upon entering and she explained the different options to us, and suggested her favorites. We will definitely be back to try the lunch/dinner menu. Tonight after placing our order at the counter the cashier told us they were out of 3 of the 4 specials and all of the items we ordered. We left. This is a fun place new to Gainesville. Hawaiian inspired food by kings Hawaiian. When they do have items in stock, the menu was pretty good with Poke Bowlz rice, bowls, sandwiches and more however, prices are a little high, considering what you get dishes are not too big, but they do not lack flavor. I also recommend you save room for the mochi donuts and cakes, try out their creamed drinks and their patio. On a beautiful day can go outside to the fake grass patio and let the kids run and play. Customer service and food delivery was quick and painless. Greeted nicely and offered answers to questions we might've had. I visited Hawaii last year and had countless meals and wanted to see if this place was anything like the food back on the islands. Loved the inside scenery and ambiance of the place. Lemonade is filled with ice, which I don't usually mind but the cup being that size had more ice to drink ratio. Drink overall wasn't anything crazy but it was good. The noodle bowl was spicy, I love the heat. Definitely asian spice level which may be too hot to handle for some, but definitely did not sit well with me later but that's the downside to enjoying really spicy food. I think the taste of the meal wasn't all the way there because of the spice, so flavors lacked a little. Drove all the way to Gainesville just to try this place and it didn't disappoint! It was a rainy day, so we had to sit inside, but there's a big outdoor patio area that looks really nice. But inside was cheerful and welcoming, as were all the people. A lady came out to talk to us as we were deciding what to get, and she was super helpful in explaining things as we had never been there before. The wait to order was WORTH it. Once we ordered our food came quickly and was fresh and delicious. We had a little bit of everything all over the menu but both parents and all three kids loved trying everything. But honestly the desserts stole the show. Kalua Pork sliders - these were also pretty good and similar in style to a Cuban sandwich. There was a side dipping sauce that I paired with these, and it was good. (4.5/5 ) 3. Spicy Bulgogi steak - I didn't love the flavors on this one. The cheese didn't pair well with the bulgogi flavors. (3/5 ) 4. Ham and Swiss sliders - these were pretty standard and not a lot of flavor. I feel like this needed a garlic butter on the bun or something to enhance. (3.5/5 ) 5. My family and I ate here and we all have different preferences when it comes to food, personally i got the teriyaki steak sliders and to be honest they came up short. I get the concept and when i saw it on the menu i thought it would be a home run but it really disappointed. My mom is pescatarian so her only option was the Hilo Bay Bowl and she did not enjoy it. The fries really disappointed all of us, I mean how do you mess up fries? The service was great, just walk up take your order and grab your food. The part I haven't gotten to that makes this place worthwhile is the ambiance and the dessert menu. Ive gone here a couple times in my years and it has never disappointed, my recommendation, the shaved ice.
