Got an oil change and they overfilled it. This was tested on level ground with a cold engine.

Still 1-star because it seems they never changed my oil on 2/18. First, I learned it's overfilled on 3/6, then I learn the oil is way too dark (3/17) for the amount of miles I drove the car, which is 233 TOTAL. I barely drove my car due to the fact I purchased a brand new car. But they're trying to say I drove 233 miles AFTER I found out about my overfilled oil, which is not the case. I get gaslit at work everyday, don't try to gaslight me with that. It is 233 miles TOTAL and for only 233 miles that oil should have been the nice golden color oil is but it was as if I've driven it for thousands of miles for how dark it was. They also threatened to close my complaint if I did not bring my car in to them on their time. I received a text while I was at work saying my car was being serviced, which was odd because my WRX or my Forester did not have scheduled appointments. I thought maybe it was just a mistake so I just went about my work day. After work, I go through my emails and see an email from the service advisor stating, "If you decide not to arrive, we will close your complaint." The issue has yet to be resolved but you're threatening to close my complaint if I don't go in on your time? I'm the customer, shouldn't it be on my time? Are these the business tactics we practice because this dealer is not BBB accredited? A few emails ago, they did ask me to remove my posts. Why should I after I've been continually gaslit by the service advisor that I will not name and then threatened to have my complaint closed because I'm not doing things on their time?

Let's just go ahead and wedge the completely wrong wiper here, and send the car out like this . The customer will never notice

I scheduled a service appointment at Hello Subaru Temecula for my wife's Subaru Ascent and it turned into one problem after another, with zero confidence-inspiring ownership from the service department. This visit was for the 60,000 mile service, which is not cheap (around $1,300). When I booked the appointment over the phone, I was very clear about what I wanted and did not want. As part of the package they include a battery cleaning, and I specifically said I did not need that. The person who set the appointment assured me everything was noted so the team would be ready when I dropped the car off. When I arrived, there were no notes. They had me down for an oil change only. I had to walk them through everything again at check-in. That eventually got sorted out, but it was also the first sign that what was promised on the phone did not translate into actual execution. During the service they sent me the inspection video, which was appreciated. They flagged the rear diff cross member as needing replacement. What bothered me was that nobody checked whether it should be covered under warranty until I brought it up. Once I pushed, it was confirmed and handled under warranty. That did not feel proactive or customer-focused. It felt like they were perfectly happy to see if I would pay for it unless I caught it. Pickup was where things really fell apart. When I went to pay, the total was about $1,000 higher than what I had been quoted. After spending time reviewing it, they eventually realized they were double charging labor. That is not a minor mistake. If I had not pushed back, I have no doubt I would have been overcharged. Then they brought the car around and the rear wiper was visibly wrong and jammed. It was wedged between the glass and the trim because they installed the wrong size wiper and forced it to fit. This was obvious at a glance, which tells me there was no real quality check before handing the car back. At that point, the bigger issue became trust. If something as visible as a rear wiper can be installed incorrectly and sent out the door, how am I supposed to have confidence in the rest of the work that I cannot easily verify? Did they change the cabin and engine air filters? If so, were they the correct ones? Did they replace fluids that were part of what I paid for? I honestly do not know, and that is the problem. The service manager's response was essentially "sorry," with no real attempt to reassure me that the service was done correctly or explain what quality control they have in place. When you stack it all up, it is a mess from start to finish. Appointment details not documented, intake not aligned, warranty coverage not proactively checked, an attempted overcharge due to double labor, and an incorrect part installed with no QA. I left with no confidence in the service department. Unfortunately, this is part of a broader pattern we have seen across Subaru dealerships, not just here. On a prior service at a different dealer, we had an upper oil pan gasket replaced under warranty, which required pulling the engine. It was done incorrectly and had to be redone shortly after, which resulted in nearly three weeks without the car. Between experiences like that and what happened at Hello Subaru Temecula, we have lost confidence in Subaru service overall. We have owned four Subarus. Between this and other subpar dealer service experiences, this will be our last. I cannot recommend Hello Subaru Temecula service, and I would strongly suggest going elsewhere if you value accurate billing, basic quality control, and confidence that the work you pay for is actually done correctly.

My new 2026 Subaru Outback with a new "Deep Emerald Green Pearl" color.

Although I live in Indio, I decided to lease a new Outback here instead of Palm Springs Subaru. I especially appreciated the great service and communication that I received from Sales Representative, Isaiah Batton. He and I were able to do much of our negotiation remotely, by text and email, which saved me a lot of wasted time sitting around at the dealership. Isaiah was honest and I had no surprises when I went in to finalize my deal on a new Outback. I'm very satisfied with my new Outback.

    9 services declined.

"Hello Subaru" in Temecula sold me a 2011 Forester 2.5x 4 months ago and tried to hit me with upwards of 2300$ in recommended services when I brought it in for an oil change. The car was sold with 123K miles and I brought it in at 128k. These are the charges that they reccomended...$515 for spark plugs, $300 for CVT fluid drain and fill. $270 for power steering flush. $320 for differential drain and fill. $228 for fuel induction service. $211 brake flush. $45 for one freakin' rear windshield wiper blade. $315 for serpentine belt. $90 for cabin air filter. You'd think they would see I just bought the car before they try to rob me, or have some sort of communication if these services were done already (probably not). Then I tried to contact the sales manager Jose who said he would send me a detailed list of what was done to the car when it was bought by them which I have yet to receive. If it needs a serpentine belt now, it needed it then... If it needs a 100k mile full service then it should have been done when they had it 4 months ago too. I take damn good care of my car and paid 9k for a 2011 with a bunch of dings just for the peace of mind of a warranty from the dealership. They should have at least serviced the car with all these recommended services 5k miles ago when they were trying to sell it. I hope the manager contacts me when they read this. I'm super disappointed that I gave them my money.

Safe products for my New Ride

Ask the Community - Hello Subaru of Temecula

How much does an oil change cost?

I'm in search of cheap stock/used parts so I can remove my aftermarket parts from my 08 WRX. Does this dealership have old parts laying around for sale?

Sorry, we only sell New Parts.

Prior to using them, I received several quotes from my repair through Yelp, as well as the Nissan dealership. The quote from 1st Choice was by far the best, and half the amount quoted by the dealership. I selected 1st Choice and scheduled the repair date. The work was completed to my satisfaction. I want to mention that the mechanics are very knowledgeable and extremely professional. I would highly recommend 1st Choice for your automotive needs.

I became a customer / client of 1st Choice Autoworks through Chris Tusow at SubiWorks, next door…read more Chris has been the only mechanic to mod, work on, or do anything with my heavily modified, camping, overlanding, off-roading builds...I'm really particular and developed a really close working relationship and friendship with Chris. Last year, he decided to branch off and focus primarily on mods, custom builds, and speciality work on Subarus whiling changing the name of the business to RFC Industries. In doing this, he sold the service side (oil changes, tire rotations, basic repairs, etc.) of his business to 1st Choice Autoworks. So I've been coming to them for the non-off roading specific stuff that Chris still does for me. Luke and everyone else here is incredibly kind, knowledgable, and professional. This past weekend, I panicked since I'm leaving for an extended work trip (1.5 months) which involves my heavily modded Subaru Forester and I had an axle issue days before I was supposed to leave. I texted Chris over the weekend and he said come to 1st Choice by 8:00am on Monday. I didn't have an appointment, and just showed up. And this isn't my style. I'm usually so highly organized and do my best to be respectful, schedule appointments, and go through the proper channels. But I woke up at 6:00am and was in Murrieta by 8:00am. I explained my situation and they were so accommodating and understanding and kind. It took all day but they helped me out and got my car back in good health and I'm so thankful they were cool with me just showing up. This shop is trustworthy, professional, and now is really familiar with off-roading and modded, lifted Subarus due to SubiWorks' and Chris' involvement. Please give these guys your business if you're in the area. They also work on non-Subarus. Thank you, 1st Choice dudes. I appreciate you!
