Really bad experience! Scheduled appt for Tech to have work done. Appt was set and was looking forward to having job taken care of. On day of appt, received text from HomeTech that Tech was unavailable. Option provided by HomeTech was to still have appt but later in the afternoon. Okay, that was fine. New appt window was set for 400 PM-600 PM with actual appt at 500 PM. At 520 PM and no word/sign of Tech, I called HT Customer Service. HT Rep contacted Tech to find out status. Rep came back said Tech would not be able to make appt because he didn't have the right tools!! Rep said next available appt was next Friday. No thanks!! Cancelled service request and will have someone else do the work. Unbelievable! Wonder how many other customers have had similar experiences(?) read more

I had an extremely disappointing experience with this company and would not recommend them to anyone. I originally scheduled a simple thermostat replacement. The technician came out, attempted the installation, and then left without completing the job. Not only was the thermostat not properly installed, but my heater, which was working perfectly before the visit, completely stopped working after he left. Since then, my home has been freezing cold, and the situation is even more serious because I run a licensed daycare out of my home. We now have children in a cold environment, and portable heaters are not enough to safely heat the space. This has caused a huge disruption to our daily operations and created unnecessary stress for both staff and families. What made this situation even worse was the customer service. After multiple attempts to get help, I received little to no urgency, poor communication, and no immediate solution to fix the problem they created. There was no accountability, no fast resolution, and no concern for the impact this had on my business and the children in my care. This was a simple job that was mishandled from start to finish. Turning a working heater into a non-working one is unacceptable, and the lack of proper customer support afterward is even more disappointing. I used HelloTech services a few years ago and they were great. It was an in person visit to set up and sync new equipment. This week I used them for virtual tech support. First guy said the camera issue was fixed, it wasn't. Second guy blamed it on my Wifi signal even though I pointed out all other devices and cameras were working fine. It seemed to just be an excuse. I called my Wifi provider and everything with the signal was fine. Took my computer in to a place.. turned out the anti-virus program was in conflict with the camera, fixed and running in 5 minutes. I had a service scheduled with HelloTech for running coax in my home.The assigned tech cancelled my appointment directly without using the online scheduler. HelloTech was plagued by glitches and issues assigning and finding another technician. They increased my appointment window by seven hours. Then pushed it to the next day. Then they still were unable to verify if someone would show up during their prescribed appointment window. Total fiasco. Do yourself a favor and call a local electrician, handyman, or networking company to do the job. read more

Their "tech" had no idea what he was doing, kept googling how-to's, destroyed the wires in the thermostat, could not get the original one back after he could not install the nest and we are without AC in a very hot area during a hot week. The WORSE company!!! Technician texted to confirm a 3pm appointment and he did not arrive. Two hours later I called to follow up and the rep said that this tech had an emergency so he is not coming after all. I was assigned another technician at 6pm and he did not arrive either. I called again and I was told that the 6pm was cancelled because the technician stated that he will not be able to make it on time. None of these technicians notified that they will not be coming after all. No respect for my time or at least a courtesy call to say that they will not be coming. Andrew was very communicative and informative. He was wearing a mask when he arrived, and made great recommendations on where to mount the tv. We were having it mounted on brick, so not the easiest task I'm sure. He was done within an hour, and we love how our tv looks! Worth every penny, as neither I nor my husband had any clue on how to drill, mount, and level the base, let alone put the tv up. Very affordable too! Less than Geek Squad! No supervisor available every interaction someone purposely disconnect the line and lie to me saying someone will contact me and resolve the situation. This company is the bomb! The young tech they sent was courteous, BEYOND patient, professional and polite! He did a great job installing a Ring doorbell device after we had issues doing it. Would hire them again and will soon for another camera we will be upgrading! We had just said it would be great to hire a company that KNEW what the Ring devices were all about and then it popped up on my phone! So glad it did. They got back to me immediately, all via text to schedule an appt. Let me know the tech was delayed by 15 minutes and up he pooped at my front door! After filling out the particulars several days prior to the visit, all I had to do was sign on his iPhone and my account was charged. All in all, it was a great experience. I was unable to send or receive phone calls or texts on my iPhone. I took it to AT&T, they tested it and said it was fine. When I got home I still couldn't use the phone. (It wasn't the WiFi.) I looked online and no one offered a service that would come to the house. Finally I found HelloTech. They were able to send out a technician the same day I contacted them (by computer, because I had no phone service). Jason came out and for two hours worked on the phone until he found the problem. He was actually slightly early for the appointment too! He told me he didn't care how late it got to be, but he was going to find out why my iPhone wouldn't work. And he did it! I scheduled an install appointment for a security system. They said the earliest available time they had was the next day so I scheduled it. They then asked for an alternate date just in case a technician couldn't make it. The next day came and I heard nothing from them, good thing I didn't waste my whole Saturday waiting around. The alternate date came and they called to change the date and time to an unknown date. Who waits until the scheduled day to notify of a change and then say "maybe we can make it in a few days." A few days later I get a text from them at 6:05am saying they can't find a tech to do the install so my job request is cancelled. I wouldn't have a job if I conducted business that way. I have used Hello Tech in the past and was very satisfied with the technician's work. My complaint is regarding the unauthorized charges to my card twice. First I was charged for $4.99 recurring membership fee that I never signed up for. Second, unlike other businesses, that state "We PRE AUTHORIZE YOUR CARD". Hello Tech, fails to inform you that there will be an authorization hold on your card until the service is complete. instead, they continually state that you will not be charged for the service until the service is completed. Not only did the tech rip 4 of my HDMI cables, but had no idea how to install the wall coverings for the cords. He had never heard of them. I bought a new 55" TV, paid for warranty and mounting services on 6/23/21. Tech called made and appt. for this morning, 6/26/21 at 9 AM. I spent 2 days moving furniture, pictures, and such, dusting and sanitizing as they requested. I am Severely Disabled so it took a bit. Then at 8 AM, one hour before my appt the Tech cancelled, giving no reason. Spent over and hour and a half on the phone, o\n hold before I gave up trying to reach Customer Service. I've had mixed experiences with this company. In both instances I've used this company for tv wall mounting. The first experience was as expected, but my most recent experience was pretty terrible. The tech was nice and conversational, but did not listen to instructions and ultimately ended up damaging my property. The tech left numerous holes in the wall, poorly patched them upon completion, dropped a toolbox on my floor denting hardwood (without apologizing), and in the end hung my tv improperly in a way that required I needed to rehang myself. Tech support was responsive, but took absolutely no responsibility for any of it. I get the vibe this company only cares about pocketing the money they've already earned without any notion to care about providing quality support for the crappy service they provide. read more
