After 6 attempts of having a tech out to help us with our point to point system, we are still without internet service. It has been 4 weeks. I do not recommend this company. We had a virus in our computer. I'd tried and failed to fix it myself. I was thinking I could drop it off at a shop to do repair but this seemed like a neat option to do it from home. The process took a few hours with a tech working remotely. No one even came into our house. On the down side I had to be by the computer for two hours to answer questions or enter passwords but it wasn't so bad because I was doing work on another computer. Fixed the problem, 79 bucks, I didn't have to leave the house or even have a stranger come visit our house. read more

Unquestionably the worst customer service I have ever experienced. I purchased a new TV from Amazon on Black Friday. I arranged for delivery and mounting through Amazon as well. The delivery was fantastic. Right on time, right to my door. Amazon contracted mounting to Hello Tech, and it went straight downhill from there. After emails were exchanged an appointment was set up and I explained that this was a simple job of taking one mounted TV down, putting the mounts on the new TV and putting it back up. No drilling, no measuring no sweat. I had asked to be contacted by text, as I do not answer calls from numbers I don't recognize. The first thing that happened was a phone call from installer #1 who asked if I would be available earlier, as that would work out better for him. I said sure, come right over. He finally arrived a few minutes after the original appointed time. Some how he took 20 minutes to get from the lobby to my apartment. When he arrived he started telling me what he would and wouldn't do without seeing what needed to be done. In the middle of all this he announced that he needed to use my bathroom (very unprofessional) and proceeded to make a mess that I had to clean up after he left. He got the new TV on the wall and left screws an nuts and trash all over and left. After I spent an hour or more cleaning up the mess he made in my house I noticed that the TV was not level. I called Amazon Customer Service who contacted the vendor. At first Hello Tech tried to say that they did not mount that TV and then they were extremely difficult for Amazon to deal with. After waiting several days with nothing but updates from Amazon I reached out to Hello Tech myself. First I tried "Chat" and got nowhere. Next I called and spoke to Customer Service Rep and was told he would look into it and get back to me, he never did. Fast forward thru several days of repeated calls and ridiculous wait times and I finally reached someone, whose name I don't remember, who helped me. She was able to arrange an appointment for the next Tuesday. In arranging availability I told her that Sunday was out, as my building does not allow work of any kind on Sunday and to please contact me via text. On Sunday I got a text confirming my Tuesday appointment. Shortly thereafter I got a call from Installer #2 saying he was on his way. Since I knew all he had to do was level the mount with the tool I had using my step ladder I told him to come on over, just to end this whole ugly experience. When he arrived, dragging 2 huge toolboxes I showed him the tool, the instructions and the step ladder. He proceeded to remove the TV for no reason, thus getting his greasy finger marks all over it, then after agreeing to look at the instructions put it back up and started trying to level it. He disappeared to his truck to get yet another tool box and finally got the TV almost level. He then sheepishly informed me that he looked at the schedule wrong and my job was for Tuesday; but not to worry he would just hold the paperwork and put it in on Tuesday like he did his job correctly. This experience reminds me of a saying and old retired Marine used to use-"I been to 3 wars and a bunch of County Fairs and I ain't never seen anything as f**ked as this place". Avoid them like the plague. I would not use them to install a light bulb. read more

HelloTech experience was horrible. I bought a wall mount from Walmart. I paid Walmart to have the wall mount attached to the wall in the bedroom. Walmart contracted HelloTech to do the job. I showed the HelloTech tech the wall mount I had purchased and showed him where to mount it in the bedroom. I also told him that the TV in the kitchen will go to the bedroom and a new TV will go in the kitchen. He did NOT tell us that was not what he was going to do. Instead he just attached the new TV to the existing wall mount in the kitchen. Then he said he needed to go to Home Depot to get some tools to install the wall mount in the bedroom. He never came back. I found out later he had marked the job completed. He never installed the wall mount to the bedroom wall - which is what I had paid for. And he lied to us about going to Home Depot to get tools. read more

I scheduled an appointment on Monday and it was initially scheduled for Friday. The tech contacted me on Monday night and asked if he could come tomorrow (Tues). YES! The process of getting the appointment was perhaps the worst experience I have ever had scheduling online-- to the point that I would never use or recommend you, again. I have sent many people your way, but the lack of professionalism was OVER THE TOP this time around. One example is that I got a call 20 minutes BEFORE MY SCHEDULED APPOINTMENT (which had been confirmed and then changed multiple times) saying that you were canceling bc you couldn't reach me. I had ZERO missed calls or texts and it was 20 minutes before the scheduled appointment time. I had taken time off work AGAIN to facilitiate this appointment and had to go postal to get the tech to come back. Not his fault at all. The tech was very good. However I did not need any service after evaluating my TV was shot no picture no sound. Hello tech policy is no work no charge. I looked at my bank account and they took out $99 dollars. I called them up and complain that it was wrong thing to do. They gave a fake apology and told me I'll get my money back in 24 to 48 hours. I said I should not have to wait to get my money back and they should not have taken it out in the first place to no avail. They ripped me off from my bank account and I'll Probably get it back in 48 hours. In the meantime my money is in their business account making interest for the company. I gathered that this is a common practice for Hello Tech. Rip off your account when they haven't done any service then put it back in 48 hours. Very Very Bad Business. (Thieves and Liars) is who they are if you call them and they find nothing wrong they'll take your $99 money anyway. I'll never call them again. read more

4/18/22 set up technician to have a TV mount on the wall. everything seemed fine I had used hello tech previously for jobs like this and never had an issue. My husband set the appointment, I work from home and am 7 months pregnant. Tech arrived and started installing tv mount. During appointment husband called stating the tech was unable to make it and they were searching for a new tech...I told him the tech was here and installing already. When the tech finished the tech said my husband had cancelled the appointment. I asked both my husband and tech to place the order to submit the payment. The tech said he would be fine with Venmo/ Cash or Zelle as a form of payment. I went ahead paid him cash and a tip and he left. 2 hours later we get a 150$ charge from hellotech for the service. my husband called and said we paid in cash to the technician already. customer service says technicians only receive payment from the app and no other forms. I completely feel take advantage of, pregnant female home alone. They said they will investigate and I hope they do. read more

From the first contact phone call with HelloTech we were pleased with the assistance we received. We were given an appointment 4 days out from the date we called (and we called over Thanksgiving weekend) which we felt was reasonable. We received a confirming email and confirming texts so we were always kept in the loop. HelloTech did exactly as they represented. The tech arrived on time and was able to quickly resolve our issue. They sent a tech out to look, and he couldn't find anything wrong. Apparently HelloTech deals pretty much exclusively with software. However, if that's the case, then (1) why isn't that on their website and (2) why didn't anyone tell me that before I forked out nearly $100 for a visit? Especially, when the took the time to tell me that they couldn't fix it over the phone, so they could charge me $20 more. In short, I paid nearly $100 for no solution - an outcome that HelloTech should've been able to predict from the get-go. The tech was friendly and honest, so they get a star for that. read more

The tech called an hour before the appointment and wanted to see if I was home; however, I was out shopping and told him I would be home very soon. The tech waited patiently outside of my house for over 30 minutes and was ready to start the work before my scheduled time. The tech had issues with low voltage from my original doorbell and gave some advice on how to resolved the issue, but I later found out one of my wires was loose and he quickly remedied the problem and completed the work. Overall, I'm very satisfy with the responsiveness and professionalism from the tech. read more

The service sales person told me that the coverage in my area was low but they would be able to get me a technician in 5-7 days. Well, 3 weeks later I was still waiting. Tech was 3hrs late then upon arrival he did not bring a ladder to install outdoor cameras, he used a stool I had and it go all bet because he was too heavy for it. he did not finish installing sensors and left the indoor camera uninstalled, and the cameras are still not working g properly. The TV mount was already mounted on wall. The tech just replace the TV(simple). When asked to adjust TV upwards a bit, the tech asked to charge more. Yet he came alone to do the installation and asked me to help with TV lifting mounting etc.?? My help is no of charge but yet he would charge me more for adjusting TV?? The tech came and read the instructions for my honeywell WiFi thermostat, tried installing a number of ways, called Honeywell tech support then said he cannot install because the wiring is not compatible. Wondering if he could've figured that out before trying to install by looking at the manual and would've saved everyone a lot of time. That said, if you don't have a basic install, my suggestion is to hire an electrician. That's what I ended up doing and it was done in 7 minutes. read more
