My daughter is only 12 years old, and today she had to have permanent veneers placed on her six front teeth because of the damage to them. As her mom, I am absolutely devastated. It was her first day of 7th grade and instead of celebrating a new school year, we spent 3 hours at the dentist office getting her teeth restored. What is especially difficult for me is that she has been seen monthly throughout her orthodontic treatment. At her routine dental appointment six months ago, her dentist said none of this damage was present. We were never given a recommendation to remove her braces by this orthodontist. Thankfully, we continued her regular dental cleanings. It was our dentist who discovered the extent of the damage and recommended that her braces be removed immediately. I hate to think about how much worse this could have become had we not gone in for that routine appointment. For her first set of braces, we went with Embrace Your World Orthodontics and had a much better and more professional experience. I'm sharing this because I wish someone had shared an experience like ours with me. As parents, we trust the professionals caring for our children to alert us when something is wrong and to help us protect their health. I only wish we had been given that opportunity sooner.

He fixed my pain, fixed my tooth (really well) and had me out the door in about 35 minutes. Dr. Whitson seems pretty precise to, because there wasn't a lot of "post-fill drilling" like most dentists. He just did it right from the beginning! Not only was Dr. Whitson attentive, gentle and careful, he proved to be very conservative in his treatment plan. He didn't go for the easy "gouge" but instead went for the best treatment for me in the moment. For which I'm very grateful - and astonished, as most dentists don't take that "high" road. To top it off, they offered me several ways to even SAVE money in my payment options with them - very patient centered thinking! (never had a dentist do that in the last 15 years!) When I came in and seen she was gone from the lobby I went ahead back to find a nurse with my daughter pulled into a small private room. When I seen her I entered the room, where a secretary I'm assuming. I honestly don't know what she was. But she informed me my daughter had head lice and wouldn't be seen in their office until she had been treated. And asked if I would like to see even after a full explanation how my little girl had dandruff and that I had just purchased a 30 dollar bottle of shampoo for it and had only done 1 treatment so far. And also that she did have a friend spend the night a few weeks prior that we did find out had head lice. But that I had already treated my children and whole entire house. And had also treated every single thing in my whole entire house that I didn't just throw away, and spent almost 250.00 doing so. And if my daughter and I weren't humiliated enough, and my child to tears. This woman still had the nerve to continue to tell me how to treat and comb nits for days and even weeks, as if I was some uneducated, neglectful, dirty mother that hadn't already explained in length, even tho I really wanted to just honestly punch her in the face. So after quietly getting up and leaving with my traumatized child in tears, that has been in therepy for severe anxiety, and sensory issues among other things. And immediately call the office while my child was in the car to discuss it with a supervisor only to find out after going through the full explanation that I was speaking to the same woman so at that point I asked for them to get my child's medical records together as well as a refund for the money that we paid that office up front and she later informed me that there was no money owed to me even though my child still has her braces on that have not been adjusted and over two and a half months that are now cutting into her lips I wish I could remember the girl's name but I am definitely seeking legal advice and I'm fully prepared to sue them

Last year, they pressured me into getting a *deep cleaning*, claiming I was at risk of *heart disease* if I didn't--yes, they actually said that! I've never had any pain or sensitivity, and I've always been meticulous about my oral care with regular brushing, flossing, a waterpik, and mouthwash. Still, they insisted I had gingivitis and gum disease, even though I had no symptoms. To top it off, I recently went in for what I thought was just a regular cleaning, and they hit me with the news that I need *periodontal maintenance* four times a year--each session costing me at least $88 after insurance. This had never been mentioned before, and it feels like they're just finding ways to rack up unnecessary charges. After reading similar complaints from other patients, I truly believe they're scamming people with unnecessary treatments and fear tactics. **Do yourself a favor and find a more honest practice.**
