This location is solely about decorating and design- a great paint department. an excellent selection of kitchen and house hardware and they make it easy to get samples of pulls & knobs, paint chips and sample pots! This place is amazing! We interacted with 5 different people asking about shelves in different departments. Every person was extremely good matured and genuinely helpful! We even got a few suggestions for home depot for somethings to save cost!!! (Funny enough we are actually going to return stuff we bought earlier @ HD and buy it here instead. They have more variety.) The conversation was always how can we solve your problem, not how can we push our product. People were also SUPER knowledgeable! We also looked at prices, and its cheaper or compatible to online. Trust worthy people, wide variety, fair to great prices. Staff is always helpful and knowledgeable. It is so helpful to have them right in the neighborhood so you do not need to go the distance to the big box stores. Researching colors for an older home with several adults is not an easy situation, but the folks in design at Rings End it was much easier than I thought. Denise and Karen were very knowledgeable about the products, there was no pressure to "push" a particular brand, and they were so patient and friendly as well - you can't help but respect the experience they bring. The men at the counter were courteous and made sure we had the right brushes and tools they were genuinely friendly. They even brought the paint out to the car. I used to shop at a big box store but the lack of knowledge and dismissive manner when I went in made me search out an alternative, and Rings End of Norwalk made it a pleasure. read more

I spent around $400 on locks for my home. The hardware salesmen was not helpful. He kept pushing what I didn't want although I had pictures and specs of exactly what I did want since I did research before coming in. He messed up my first order and I had to wait another week for my product but that is not what really bothers me. What bothers me is he should be knowledgeable with the product. I was trying to remove the previous door lock from my home to install the new one, which Rings end sells, but it was somewhat complicated. You would think the guy selling the exact lock could help you figure it out? Unfortunately not. All he could offer is "I never installed or deinstalled these locks so I can't help you; call the manufacturer". Really? And you are a small local business who is supposed to be connected to the community? If you are a contractor and an expert this might still be a good place to shop. If you are a homeowner trying to do it yourself and need some guidance, go somewhere else because the hardware dept has zero desire to help you, only sell you things. Perhaps it's just the Norwalk store so I will try another location before I give up. read more

I have spent a lot of money at Rings End in the last few years. I've purchased tons of paint and supplies, had keys made, bought Christmas presents for my "handy" husband. I appreciate the small store and the expert advice you can get there. It is far more convenient than Home Depot! HOWEVER, I believe if you're going to offer a service you should do so willingly. I recently brought back used paint and the associate gave me a lot of attitude. He accepted the paint grudgingly and acted as if I was imposing on him. Well guess what?? I brought some paint back to Sherwin Williams and they were SUPER friendly about it. I guess I will be buying my paint there from now on. Oh yea, one more thing. I was going to purchase $1000's of dollars in window treatments at Rings End but they took my information and NEVER called me back. So I spent the money at Blinds to Go. Too bad. It is a really nice store. (I want to clarify I was returning paint for recycling. You pay a fee for this service when you buy the paint.) read more

We've an account for the convenience. We buy lots of building supplies there... and at H depot and Lowes, too. But when you want high quality materials and hardware you go to Rings and get expert sales help when there. Simply world class. They have engineers to check your designs, better and best grades of lumber, and trim, and mill work, etc., etc. and will order in whatever you need. when ordering windows, doors, etc, the sales help is very experienced.
