They have trees from miniature to gigantic, with various fir tree types available. You have to cut your own tree down, and they provide hand saws, just don't start sawing on a tree you and your group can't finish dropping. The weather has mostly been soggy when we go, on the Saturday after Thanksgiving. This year was a bonus, clear skies and sunny. The ground crunched under foot, but I would recommend bringing your boots, it can be real muddy. Bring the tree down to the house and they will wrap it so that it will fit on your roof rack, or in your truck bed. And don't forget to get some hot cider, supplied on the porch.

The tree has no smell what so ever and when I brought it in to the house, it has not sucked up 1 ounce of water. It has been in my house for a week now and I have added no water to the stand! That is wrong and not the sign of a tree that was still fresh. I am soooo disappointed in Olmsted. I save all year so that I can buy a freshly cut tree that I can enjoy for my Christmas holiday. After leaving the Carnation tree farm disappointed we decided to checkout Ronnei which was 6 miles north of downtown caranation. We were blown away. Our 6 foot Frazier Fir cost us only $40 when Carnation tree farm was charging us $58-$60. The Ronnei tree farm is a no BS cut what you want tree farm which made picking a tree so much easier than at Carnation tree farm. I highly recommend coming to Ronnei Tree Farm if you want to experience cutting your own tree.

Husband and I went in to just check prices but the family who runs it are all super nice and the prices are priced competitively, so we went ahead and purchased one. We had our pictures taken in front of the giant wreath and Christmas tree which they were more than happy to help with. They also had coffee and hot chocolate ready to go. I overhead them taking about starting the fires and really wanting people to just come and hang out. They'll be offering different Christmas Themed workshops throughout the month as well. Definitely head on it and give it a go! At the very least, you'll have some good conversations with some nice people.
