We bought our usual order from this place, the Original and the Crispy. However, the taste is different from what it used to be. The Original chicken skins still have some hair on them, and the Crispy is dry and not as juicy and crispy as before. It looks like the quality of this place is going down. read more

Incredible meal! Pick up was straightforward and contactless. Normally I'd have some photos but verything was so delicious that I forgot to take any. The spicy crispy chicken and spicy wings were my absolute favorite, followed by the super flavorful, peppery, and savory daikon soup. I wish I had ordered even more soup! Thai iced tea was superb. The mix was good but not as flavorful as the spicy chicken and spicy wings, but that's alright. The flavored rice could have used a little more ginger and maybe salt but still was savory and done very well. The subtle pairing of cucumbers and cilantro were a perfect match for the savory spicy flavors. Quite refreshing and tastes like summer vacation. Next time I'll have to try the dessert! read more

'The Original' was delicious. Generous portion. Service was prompt and friendly. Appreciate the use of composable container and straw. Thai iced tea is also good and not overly sweet like a lot of places around. Only minor complain is I don't feel I had enough dipping sauce. Great lunch spot! I've been craving chicken and rice and when I saw this place I couldn't resist ordering delivery. I got the combo and gobbled it down before I even had a chance to take a pic. I'm glad they opened! Been waiting eagerly for them to be able to. It's important to understand what this is in context before you say "meh". It's supposed to be simple comfort food. It's not the kind of complex hit of sour, sweet, fishy and spicy you might be familiar with when you think Thai food. This is fatty with notes of mostly sweet from the sauce. Good on a cold day, especially the daikon soup. I think it lends itself well to takeout (I dig the paper containers and environmentally mindful packaging). I ordered this for delivery two days in a row because it was that good! My first order I got the crispy chicken with sticky rice and the Thai green tea. My second order I got just the crispy chicken alone with the normal Thai iced tea. Their chicken transports pretty well during delivery and the drinks are delicious. This is one of those places that specialize in one thing and excel in it. Ordered the mix, daikon soup and Thai ice tea via UberEats. Did not know that the mix comes with a daikon soup but after the first sip, having two cups of soup was not enough. The daikon soup blew my mind: it's a thick chicken soup with simple ingredients (salt, pepper, ginger, and of course daikon) but the shop cooks it so well that you can guess the time and effort they put into it. It's a bit more gingery than I like but definitely the best chicken daikon soup I've had in a long time. Hen Chicken Rice's traditional boiled Hainanese chicken was very mediocre - it wasn't soft and flavorful like the authentic dish and came with way too much rice (not to mention way too little chicken for the price). Ordered 5 different dinners and 3 different sides of extra chicken. All was good except the "Lean" dinner of white meat and the side of white chicken breast. It was shockingly dry. Inedible and unable to chew so had to throw both away and split the other dishes so everyone had food to eat. I don't think the white meat came from the whole chicken like it is supposed to. It likely is purchased chicken breast parts and cooked separately which means it was way over cooked. Maybe they buy boneless chicken breasts because customers prefer white meat and they can't cook enough whole chickens to accommodate this preference. But the marketing means we expect Thai style whole chicken pieces. I threw away $11.95 inedible dinner and $5 aide of dried up white meat chicken. If you are ordering, get the thigh meat. Generous 3 stars as this is the first time in 3 orders with very dry inedible breast meat. Oh the turnip soup must have been the bottom of the pot since all 5 cups of soup were filled with pepper and also couldn't be eaten. read more

Just tried "The Heat" and loved it! A very simple dish that allows you to enjoy the high quality ingredients. The chicken was juicy inside and crispy on the outside, immediately you'll know that this is really fresh chicken. It's mildly spicy and flavorful, just don't expect any burn if you're a spicy eater. The rice had a very subtle hint of ginger and the addition of the sweet chili sauce worked well to pull the dish together. The included daikon soup was also tasty, though a bit on the peppery side.
