    Gyoza with unspecified entrails
    Seth F.

9Zaab offers a large and diverse menu of tempting treats, and their food can rank within that of the top three (3) Thai restaurants in the Boston area. I had the pleasure to dine at 9Zaab in the flesh and bone once, but have ordered takeout several times and several times have received high-quality food. Not long ago I partook in a meal that consisted of, but was not limited to, Khao Moo Sam Chan Tod, Pad See You, and Gyoza. The first item is the tender and fatty belly of a piglet, deep fried to a golden brown, and served over a bed of rice. One (1) chicken's egg appears on the side, along with several slices of cucumber. The Pad See You, spelled here in this fashion, is a quintessential stir-fried noodle with protein and vegetables. Gyoza is a dump; if you do not know what it is you can google it. The entrails of these gyoza here are of unspecified origin, but bring pleasure to the mouth. All of the aforementioned items are well-seasoned, reasonably portioned, and appealing to the eye, nose, and finger. It can also be said that the service is speedy and the atmosphere in the establishment itself is pleasant. The food, though, is of course what is most important. I would not go to a restaurant if not to eat. 9Zaab will certainly have the pleasure of seeing my smiling face again.

Pad Kua Gai with crispy pork, and Kao Na Ped and both were very good. The sauces that came with them were incredible.

Shockingly good! Everything we ate was impeccable, and tasted very unique from any other Thai resturaunt I've been to before. Do not be scared by the overwhelming choice of the absurdly large menue- we just got things that looked good in photos and it was all great. We had the Pad Kua Gai with crispy pork, and Kao Na Ped and both were very good. The sauces that came with the dishes were incredible. The ambiance is nothing special, but don't judge the place too soon! Service was great. 4.71 -Q&O

The food! The flavors! The deliciousness! A meal was shared here while rekindling a friendship that hasn't been experienced in over a decade. This was the perfect cozy spot to hold this special moment. We were so satisfied and delighted by everything we ate. Three dishes were shared amongst three gal pals and every plate had not a morsel of sauce, rice, or noodle leftover. Pad See You with Pork, Jungle Beef with sticky rice and spicy lime sauce, and Khao Soi with a chicken drumstick. This gem of a place shouldn't be slept on. The large mural in the shop paid homage to their culture. The staff were friendly and the service was fantastic. Parking can be a bit tough on a Friday night, but stay persistent for a spot!

A favorite for Thai takeout. I love their boat noodles and drunken noodles. The khao moo dang is always a hit too. Many appetizer options and great lunch special. Quick service and usually plenty of seating.

Generous portion and lots of unique dishes. We got the Nam Tok and it's nice and flavorful. The Sizzling Sukiyaki was also tasty. Could have been spicier but overall not bad.

    Boat Noodle Soup - Beef

Our last lunch spot in Boston was a hit! The Boat Noodle Soup (with beef) was the perfect cure for the rainy day - along with the chewy yet crispy Veg Dumplings. This restaurant has many different options, including some that were new to us like the Crispy Pad Thai - we didn't get much Pad Thai flavor but it is sweet and was moreish. The Khao Mun Gai 2 in 1 was like a Hainanese chicken rice - we all really enjoyed the rice, which was fragrant and complemented the chicken perfectly.

    Khao Mun Gai 2-in-1

For a quick weekend dinner, a friend and I went to 9Zaab. At 7pm, the establishment had half occupancy, so we received seating immediately. I ordered for myself the Khao Mun Gai 2-in-1 ($14.95), consisting of both poached and fried chicken over rice; it arrived within 10 minutes. The rice itself, having soaked up chicken broth, tasted savory, though a bit too mushy. The poached chicken seemed to have lost a decent amount of its flavor, though the fried chicken did not. All this made for a quick and forgettable dinner.

I loved the ambiance of this place. Our waiter was great, and very attentive. The food was a good spice level, though I will note that our drunken noodles took a while to come out. However, there were nonstop customers with takeout orders so I'm sure we came at a busy time! I will definitely come again, but took off a star because I felt some of the dishes were lacking in depth of flavor. This place has cozy hole-in-the-wall vibes, and I always love to support local restaurants!

Great Thai street food!! So many options, and you can find great dishes you wouldn't see at most Thai restaurants. Fast friendly service. Casual vibe. Good price. Great stuff all around for fans of Thai!

The beef boat noodle soup - WOW. One of the best in Boston no doubt. A well-seasoned, rich, deep beef broth compliments the rice boodles and slices of beef. Served with beansprouts and Chinese broccoli. Service was nothing spectacular, very no-frills but convenient and efficient for sure. Pretty spacious and decent amount of seating. Cute photos of street vendors on the wall. Overall, the place has such an extensive menu with many items you can't find at other Thai restaurants so I will definitely be back to try more after this amazing experience!

Ordered out from this restaurant and it was super yummy! Since I didn't eat at the restaurant, I'm going to assume the food may have been crispier if I ate it straight from the kitchen. I am happy with the portion size compared to the price however, I was able to save about 1/3 of my meal for dinner and was pretty full after the other 2/3s. I do wish I tried some more unique dishes from them for comparison, since I only ate the fried pork with rice.

I've gotten lucky with walking in but they have enough seating for one to generally be able to snag a table even around dinner time. During the summer, they have lovely outdoor seating! I've gotten take out here once and the food holds up well. Now onto the food... - drunken noodles: occasionally these are very spicy and occasionally they are appropriately spicy. They are always so excellent and the noodles are bouncy and chewy! I usually get this with pork. - pad see ew: this is my favorite Thai noodle dish and it's no exception here. Not as spicy as the drunken noodles but just a massive portion of filling noodles, chicken/tofu, and Chinese broccoli. There's something about the way they do the sauce here that is just so savory and delicious. It feels less greasy than it usually does at other Thai places, which I really like - pad mee korat: my friend always get this and raves about it. I felt like it was worth sharing that this comes in a huge plate and was finished completely. They have a lot of variety in dishes!!

Flavor-wise, this version was lighter and more lime-forward than the sweeter, dark soy profile I'm used to. It was also very liquidy, which didn't mesh well with the noodle type. The Pad Thai was fine overall. They use a different kind of noodle than I've eaten before, which was fun and unique. The flavor was solid, though not especially memorable. Portion sizes were very generous, especially for Boston. That said, at $17 per dish I didn't feel the quality quite matched the price, even with the large portions. Overall, it's not gonna be my go-to spot, but I'd be open to ordering again if a friend really wanted to.

The restaurant was buzzing when we arrived, but we were seated right away at the last available table. The space felt both lively and cozy, perfect for a date night. Service started a bit slow, but once it picked up, the pacing was excellent. Our server was more hands off, which worked well, letting us settle in and enjoy the night without feeling rushed. We started with the Larb Pork Dumplings, which were beautifully presented with chili lime mayo, fresh herbs, and crispy greens. They were fried perfectly, packed with bright Thai flavors, and the added crunch from the greens made the dish even better. With five dumplings, it was a great portion to share. It has all of the flavors and textures of Khao Soi, with pickled mustard greens for acid, crispy noodles for a crunchy flair, and just the right amount of spice. I find myself craving it often! The one and only bone I have to pick with Black Ruby is that the service, while very attentive, is almost TOO fast. I get that they want to turn tables over efficiently, but the last couple of times I've come, I kind of felt like they were rushing me out. I came here to catch up with a couple friends and our food came almost instantly, before our drinks, and the waitress seemed eager to keep us moving. I think our entire meal was less than 50 minutes. While I'll definitely be back, I think it won't be somewhere I'd bring friends anymore since it's just not enough time for a full conversation.
