We asked the manager i believe her name was Ana if there was Happy Hour and i let her know that this was my first time there, she showed so much great service and there was a Dj present as well foe a wonderful evening after work. When everyone who just dined at this restaurant, asks each other, "how does this place stay in business?" when offering such a good deal for all you can eat crab legs and all you can drink. You know it was a solid meal and the experience was excellent! We had a special occasion, and we all came out for all you can eat crab legs. All you can eat cornbread and all you can drink. The alcoholic beverages were limited to Jim beam old-fashioned, red or white sangria, and a limited draft beer select selection. For all you can drink, you would usually expect a water down lower quality beverage, however, that was not the case. The old-fashioned were very well made. The red sangria was decadent and not overly sweet. And the draft beer was a good old draft beer. Caroline was our server. She was absolutely excellent. She was attentive, polite patient with us. Always making sure we were all taken care of. She helped make our meal even better. The decor of this restaurant is very high class. Visually it's very well, appointed with table, linens, cloth, napkins, and cohesive color scheme. With the decor, high-quality drinks and the high-quality food we were more than happy to pay the $70 for all you can eat and drink. I highly recommend this place. I visited for the Mother's Day brunch, and I'll start by saying the atmosphere was beautiful. I loved the decor, the music playing, and the hostess stand was warm and friendly. Unfortunately, that's where the experience started to go downhill. The food itself was good, but the service from Jordan honestly put a damper on the afternoon. On such a busy holiday, I understand things can get hectic, but we constantly had to ask for basic things like water and for our dirty dishes to be cleared, and the service was extremely slow and inattentive. I ordered pancakes from the menu. I waited nearly 30 minutes for pancakes because certain menu items apparently had to be ordered separately. And I had to ask about them twice. He keep blaming the kitchen, but I honestly think that it was him. To make matters worse, Jordan spilled water on my daughter's food and on the floor. His shirt was also visibly dirty with food and water stains on the front, which was not the most professional appearance. From where we were seated, we could also see him taking several breaks while the restaurant was busy. I didn't want to complain in the moment because my children planned this outing for me, and I didn't want to put a damper on the afternoon. But for me, service really makes or breaks a restaurant experience. And respectfully, some people are meant to be servers and some people are not. Serving may just not be Jordan's strength. He seemed overwhelmed, extremely slow, and honestly confused for most of our visit. And they were adding 20% gratuity automatically. He did not deserve 20% AT all! The Brussel sprouts were delicious we got them without pork, super delicious and flavorful. The oysters Rockefeller was really good as well as the steak and fries. Collard greens were flavorless. We came here for a family brunch on a Sunday morning. The brunch buffet was set up in kind of a weird way: some of the stuff you just go to the buffet and grab it, while other stuff you have to order from the server. The best thing we had was the avocado toast, which is one of the things you had to order from the server. The items on the actual buffet, it was fairly average. Our server, Ashley, was very nice and did a great job taking care of our needs. Two other things I wanted to make note of: This is not the easiest place to get to. There really isn't any public transportation that comes near there, so you have to drive your own vehicle or take a rideshare, unless you want to walk quite a distance from the nearest Metro stop. We added a few sides: cornbread, fries, mushrooms, and collards... all solid. The drink options were great, too: beer, mimosas, sangria, house champagne, and even a Jim Beam Old Fashioned, which you could mix and match throughout the night. First it is difficult to find because the address will take you to the other side of the building which you will need to walk around to the entrance. Sunday brunch was $70 per person all you can eat with a good seafood spread but it is a bit early for seafood. When we got there, the buffet for chicken, carving station, etc does not have a lot of food. The dessert was not great. I ordered a veggie omelette and even that was not tasty. We came here for their Wednesday night special with a few friends. For $40 as of June 16 2025 you can get bottomless wings and an old fashioned. Nothing can be substituted everything comes as is. They had 3 sauces one went two dry rubs and everything was great. They bring you 20 wings to start then 10 and 10 until you can't eat anymore. Best to come On an empty stomach. Ok I went here to check out the Wednesday wing and whiskey special. This place was so pretty and clean. The staff were friendly, informative and attentive. They have a really good menu. With this Wednesday special it is a 2 hour limited and you can't take anything home, which was no problem because the staff is attentive, so the wings and drinks were flowing. We kicked off the New Year at this restaurant's New Year's Eve event, and what a start it was! It was bustling, and we did experience a notable wait for both seating (even with a reservation) and initial service--about 45+ minutes before a server greeted our table. However, we totally understood given the busy night but I still feel it was unacceptable. Our server was incredibly sweet and friendly, doing her best to make up for lost time. The restaurant was bustling with people and even had a live band and performance going on during the night which made for a very nice atmosphere. I jumped on their New Year's all-you-can-drink whiskey special. It was a great promotion, and the whiskey itself wasn't bad at all. For starters, we had the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of tang. While I prefer a thicker cut, these were still very good. The cornbread is a favorite of mine, came out piping hot and buttery. Our main courses were equally satisfying. The Catfish and Grits featured perfectly crispy, well-seasoned catfish and wonderfully creamy grits. The portion was fair for the price, though we could have used a bit more of that delicious crawfish sauce. We also tried the Steak Frites, with the steak cooked to a perfect medium as requested, and the chimichurri sauce was absolutely delicious. Everything was seasoned well; no complaints there! What made things worse, was that all we got were excuses and the worst of them was, "...this is a Black establishment!" Huh? So because it's Black-owned, you didn't prepare ice? The waiter had no idea what kind of oysters they were serving and while the wings were tasty, my friend's stomach wasn't right after leaving. We waited about 5 minutes for our server who never came but someone else did to take our drink order. Brunch was obviously the thing to do! We asked the nice man if we could just order with him verses waiting on our waitress. He said sure, we placed our order, got up and went to the buffet style area. The buffet was small and packed like sardines, luckily patrons were nice. A big guy ran into me, I almost threw my whole plate of food on a woman but thank goodness I was able to catch what could have been a disaster for her outfit, hair and day! She was sweet and said she was grateful I caught my plate. We came back to an empty table, still no drinks. No water, nothing. We had eaten most of our meal when our $10 bottle of champagne finally arrived. I don't complain but I told my handsome to just send it back because our plates were almost empty. He's a super patient person, so he said it was fine. Our waitress finally came over and appeared to be high or maybe just real "groovy". I'm not sure how to explain her. Nice but something was off. He explained they just had opened, made a mistake on the menu and corrected the hand held menus. But not on the website. I went to Hen Quarter Prime for the Patrón Tequila event, and it was my first time visiting. Overall, it didn't disappoint. The ambiance was intimate and inviting. I enjoyed the pre-fixe menu and the drinks, but there were a couple of drawbacks. The chicken they served was way too salty, I couldn't eat it. Also, the Patrón pours were pretty stingy for a tequila focused event. Service could've been better too. It took a long time to get the server's attention, though I'll chalk that up to the crowd, being that it was a large event. On a high note, the crawfish crab cake was incredible. That needs to become a regular item on the menu. I even wished I could've ordered one to go. All in all, I plan to go back. I'm definitely looking forward to their Uncle Nearest event. I dined at Hen Quarter Prime on its opening night. I ordered the Brussels Sprouts, Shrimp and Grits, Cheesecake, and a Peach Lemon Drop. The shrimp and grits were flavorful! Unfortunately, the entree and dessert took a long time to arrive, but my server was very apologetic. This might have been partly due to it being the first night. The restaurant offers metered street parking nearby, and there's a nice outdoor patio overlooking the water, though I chose to dine indoors due to the humidity. The interior is beautifully decorated and spacious, and I had the chance to tour some of the dedicated event space, which can accommodate up to 80 guests. The staff was hospitable. poor service. we made reservations to eat before a DC United gam. when we arrived no one was at the reception. after about 5+ minutes we found the greeter and were seated. One seated we waited 15 minutes with no one coming by our table to take our order. We decided to leave at that point. the restaurant was not busy just a couple of other tables with customer. read more
