When everyone who just dined at this restaurant, asks each other, "how does this place stay in business?" when offering such a good deal for all you can eat crab legs and all you can drink. You know it was a solid meal and the experience was excellent! We had a special occasion, and we all came out for all you can eat crab legs. All you can eat cornbread and all you can drink. The alcoholic beverages were limited to Jim beam old-fashioned, red or white sangria, and a limited draft beer select selection. For all you can drink, you would usually expect a water down lower quality beverage, however, that was not the case. The old-fashioned were very well made. The red sangria was decadent and not overly sweet. And the draft beer was a good old draft beer. Caroline was our server. She was absolutely excellent. She was attentive, polite patient with us. Always making sure we were all taken care of. She helped make our meal even better. The decor of this restaurant is very high class. Visually it's very well, appointed with table, linens, cloth, napkins, and cohesive color scheme. With the decor, high-quality drinks and the high-quality food we were more than happy to pay the $70 for all you can eat and drink. I highly recommend this place. I spent Sunday brunch at Hen Quarter Prime celebrating a friend's birthday with a group of six, and overall we had a great time. I actually arrived about an hour after everyone else, and I really appreciated that the staff still accommodated me and allowed me to enjoy the full two-hour brunch experience instead of rushing me. That flexibility meant a lot and let me celebrate with my friends without feeling like I had missed out. The buffet itself had plenty to choose from, including fried catfish, made-to-order waffles, macaroni and cheese, fresh fruit, and desserts. I decided to upgrade with the seafood option, which was absolutely worth it. I enjoyed oysters, crab legs, shrimp cocktail, and prime rib, making brunch feel like a true special occasion. My only disappointment was the prime rib. I love mine rare, but each serving I received was more well done than I prefer. It tasted like it had spent a little too much time under the heat lamps before being served. Service was friendly, but it definitely felt like the restaurant was stretched thin. Our server was attentive and kind, but drinks and premium brunch items occasionally went to the wrong table, and there were moments when it seemed difficult to keep track of who had ordered what. To me, this felt less like a service issue and more like a staffing issue. It was my first time visiting and after hearing so much about it, I was excited to finally see what they had to offer. At first glance, the space is beautiful and huge! There is plenty of seating whether you want to hang at one of the bars or dine with friends. It's a great spot for big parties, group dinners or events. For brunch we chosethe all you can eat food and drink option. Some of the food is buffet style and other items have to be requested from the menu and brought out to the table. Birthday dinner for the birthday boy. He gave us the heads up that there would be live music, so that was exciting to look forward to. What I didn't expect was for them to seat us right next to the stage XD. As such, it was very loud and we kind of prayed for breaks so we didn't have to shout. But, the music was incredible. I'll just prefer not to be that close in the future if I can help it. Ask for the food, they have some fun deals. There are two specific options that are paired with all you can drink old-fashioneds, sangrias, and a few others that I can't remember. You can pick between ribs, wings, and fries, or crab legs and cornbread. Both of these options are unlimited for 2 hours. WOW. I wasn't prepared to work for the crab legs, but after a friend got the cornbread or the table to share, that would have been worth it on its own... Well, maybe haha. It was delicious. Several others and I decided to do the ribs deal. When you first place the order, they give you all three things. And I love that you can pick between fried and chargrilled wings. I went for the latter, and went for the Phoenix rub because I can't remember if I've had that before. The wings and fries were the star of the show. The ribs, not so much. For round two, I just got wings and fries... The ribs were saucy, but somehow they were still kind of dry. Only part of the meal that I genuinely did not like. I visited for the Mother's Day brunch, and I'll start by saying the atmosphere was beautiful. I loved the decor, the music playing, and the hostess stand was warm and friendly. Unfortunately, that's where the experience started to go downhill. The food itself was good, but the service from Jordan honestly put a damper on the afternoon. On such a busy holiday, I understand things can get hectic, but we constantly had to ask for basic things like water and for our dirty dishes to be cleared, and the service was extremely slow and inattentive. I ordered pancakes from the menu. I waited nearly 30 minutes for pancakes because certain menu items apparently had to be ordered separately. And I had to ask about them twice. He keep blaming the kitchen, but I honestly think that it was him. To make matters worse, Jordan spilled water on my daughter's food and on the floor. His shirt was also visibly dirty with food and water stains on the front, which was not the most professional appearance. From where we were seated, we could also see him taking several breaks while the restaurant was busy. I didn't want to complain in the moment because my children planned this outing for me, and I didn't want to put a damper on the afternoon. But for me, service really makes or breaks a restaurant experience. And respectfully, some people are meant to be servers and some people are not. Serving may just not be Jordan's strength. He seemed overwhelmed, extremely slow, and honestly confused for most of our visit. And they were adding 20% gratuity automatically. He did not deserve 20% AT all! We came here for a family brunch on a Sunday morning. The brunch buffet was set up in kind of a weird way: some of the stuff you just go to the buffet and grab it, while other stuff you have to order from the server. The best thing we had was the avocado toast, which is one of the things you had to order from the server. The items on the actual buffet, it was fairly average. Our server, Ashley, was very nice and did a great job taking care of our needs. Two other things I wanted to make note of: This is not the easiest place to get to. There really isn't any public transportation that comes near there, so you have to drive your own vehicle or take a rideshare, unless you want to walk quite a distance from the nearest Metro stop. The room was very nicely decorated and well light, only thing I would wish is that we could play our own music due to the restaurant music jumping around. I have to say I was a bit disappointed with the food offering. This place is located in SW DC by the Riverfront building. First it is difficult to find because the address will take you to the other side of the building which you will need to walk around to the entrance. Sunday brunch was $70 per person all you can eat with a good seafood spread but it is a bit early for seafood. When we got there, the buffet for chicken, carving station, etc does not have a lot of food. The dessert was not great. I ordered a veggie omelette and even that was not tasty. We kicked off the New Year at this restaurant's New Year's Eve event, and what a start it was! It was bustling, and we did experience a notable wait for both seating (even with a reservation) and initial service--about 45+ minutes before a server greeted our table. However, we totally understood given the busy night but I still feel it was unacceptable. Our server was incredibly sweet and friendly, doing her best to make up for lost time. The restaurant was bustling with people and even had a live band and performance going on during the night which made for a very nice atmosphere. I jumped on their New Year's all-you-can-drink whiskey special. It was a great promotion, and the whiskey itself wasn't bad at all. For starters, we had the Fried Green Tomatoes. They were perfectly crispy with just the right amount of tang. While I prefer a thicker cut, these were still very good. The cornbread is a favorite of mine, came out piping hot and buttery. Our main courses were equally satisfying. The Catfish and Grits featured perfectly crispy, well-seasoned catfish and wonderfully creamy grits. The portion was fair for the price, though we could have used a bit more of that delicious crawfish sauce. We also tried the Steak Frites, with the steak cooked to a perfect medium as requested, and the chimichurri sauce was absolutely delicious. Everything was seasoned well; no complaints there! The funny part of this brunch was that my partner in crime was excited to make up our previous Sunday brunch spot with Hen Quarter Prime. He always picks the best places and last Sunday was less desirable. So here we were! A new "hot spot". Parking was nightmare. We circled and circled around looking like two thieves casing the area. Finally lucky him, he found a spot. Thank goodness he's always early! It was the street parking or valet. Entrance, cute little entrance, super nice host. We asked for outside dining to enjoy the rest of this good DC weather! We got seated down. No menus were given to us but the host told us about the brunch option. We waited about 5 minutes for our server who never came but someone else did to take our drink order. Brunch was obviously the thing to do! We asked the nice man if we could just order with him verses waiting on our waitress. He said sure, we placed our order, got up and went to the buffet style area. The buffet was small and packed like sardines, luckily patrons were nice. A big guy ran into me, I almost threw my whole plate of food on a woman but thank goodness I was able to catch what could have been a disaster for her outfit, hair and day! She was sweet and said she was grateful I caught my plate. We came back to an empty table, still no drinks. No water, nothing. We had eaten most of our meal when our $10 bottle of champagne finally arrived. I don't complain but I told my handsome to just send it back because our plates were almost empty. I went to Hen Quarter Prime for the Patrón Tequila event, and it was my first time visiting. Overall, it didn't disappoint. The ambiance was intimate and inviting. I enjoyed the pre-fixe menu and the drinks, but there were a couple of drawbacks. The chicken they served was way too salty, I couldn't eat it. Also, the Patrón pours were pretty stingy for a tequila focused event. Service could've been better too. It took a long time to get the server's attention, though I'll chalk that up to the crowd, being that it was a large event. On a high note, the crawfish crab cake was incredible. I finally had a chance to check out their brunch. You definitely want to make a reservation during peak times. My group dropped the ball on the resy, but we were able to get a few seats at the bar. Not only was the food good, but the service at the bar was really good. Our bartender made us drinks to match our tastes and she did a great job. We all loved them. They do offer an unlimited option, but none of us wanted to go that route on the day we went. I gave them 4 stars instead of 5 because the dessert section wasn't that great. They definitely could use some improvements in that department. With that being said, it is still a great brunch that will go into the rotation. read more

I planned an event here for my sister's wedding. It was just enough room and the decor in the private room were spectacular. Not too much not too less just right. The restaurant has a lot of seating indoor and outdoor. I've been to the location in VA only so I thought it would've been similar in decor. Anyways: speaking with Josiana via phone, text and email she was great. I had a little hiccup afterwards but the GM Lisa and Josiana handle it very well. Bob was great as well and very accommodating the day of the brunch! Only thing our server needed more assistance but she tried her best! Now to the food! The food was amazing! We went brunch which is $70.00 pp not including taxes and everything else. The brunch was amazing. I wish I was able to eat more I only had two plates. The grits were my favorite. You can order omelettes but didn't find out until later. They have waffle station and they were great. The seafood selection was incredible and fresh. They had crab legs, oysters, mussels, and more. Out of my friends, I'm more likely to go with the flow than most, but where I don't waiver is with service. Arrived on a Tuesday for HH. The menu had good options. I asked for a specific liquor. They didn't have it. My one friend asked for an old fashioned. They didn't have ice. Y'all, they wanted to serve an old fashioned with crushed ice. What made things worse, was that all we got were excuses and the worst of them was, "...this is a Black establishment!" Huh? So because it's Black-owned, you didn't prepare ice? The waiter had no idea what kind of oysters they were serving and while the wings were tasty, my friend's stomach wasn't right after leaving. Yesterday , I had Sunday brunch. This upscale dining spot offers a sophisticated Southern hospitality experience. This restaurant, offers a robust selection including a seafood spread , carving station, made to order omelettes, pancakes, and waffles. There was also a bagel and waffle bar. The crab legs were everything to me. The collard greens, deviled eggs, fried chicken, and Banana pudding were my favorites. The brunch buffet area was a little tight. The service was amazing! Our servers Lala and Princess were very professional, efficient, and made for a great experience. We even met the managers , Lisa and Bobby. They have a private room that can hold up to 25. This is a great date spot, girls outing, or gathering with family. FYI- Brunch was very pricey !!!! Over $200 for 2 people. Bottomless mimosas is $29 per person .
