Locals no grills spot for hand pulled noodles and boiled dumplings. Went on a hot summer day and luckily they have AC. I wanted to eat there so what happens is you order with the lady on the counter, Food is prepped, you pay and then you get the food and the counter and eat at the table. There is an optional tip jar at the counter. Beef noodles large was $10. Clear broth soup. Thin frozen beef pieces which were mid. Noodles were def fresh and was a bowl together made sense. Dumplings came out later and I got the pork and cabbage. Mid sized. Pretty damn good. All in all this place is solid. They also love to serve heinkens. Everyone was drinking them. Cash. No tax. Most of the menus on the wall are in Chinese but there is a laminated English menu. Down a few steps. Also name on storefront doesn't match perfectly but you know this is the targeted place ! Yes there is a bathroom
This place has amazing hand pulled noodles freshly made. You can see the workers pulling the noodles. Came on a Saturday afternoon and this place gets really busy. You order your food at the counter and find a table to eat. The lamb hand pulled was really deliocus and flavorful. The big tray of chicken with noodles as well. Next time I would definitely be coming back to try their lamb burger!
I used to go to Flushing a lot, but it has sadly been getting more expensive / bougier and it hasn't really been worth it to come out from Long Island these days. I saw this place got great reviews and my interest was piqued. I remember years ago there was a lamb noodle spot in the Golden basement mall that had an amazing bowl of noodles for like $7 and I've missed it dearly. Was hoping this spot could scratch that itch. From looking at reviews beforehand, I was happy to see this place was a small, hole in the wall type of establishment. But I was also afraid of the negative reviews saying the place was dirty to the point that people got food poisoning. I got here during early lunchtime on a weekday and the place wasn't too packed out. I was happy to see there was a decent amount if space so it wasn't too uncomfortable of a place to sit down and eat. I was pleasantly surprised at some of the prices here. The menu said that the large bowl of lamb noodle soup was $10 so I got that. I can't remember the last time I got a big bowl of noodles for less than like $12-15 so it seemed like great value. The lamb noodle soup came out and it looked really good on first glance. The bowl was nice, big, and appetizing. A bunch of hand pulled noodles were in there, plus some glass noodles, wood ear mushrooms, and cilantro. There were also a few pieces of sliced lamb but it wasn't a huge amount. I'm happy to say that the bowl was everything I was hoping it would be. The broth was mild and tasty. Was not overly salty and pretty on point. I added some chili oil and black vingear which were on the table. The meat pieces were pretty satisfying; nothing too crazy, but it did the job. The star of the show was definitely the hand pulled noodles; they were perfect. As soon as I started eating, I couldn't stop till I was done, and wanted seconds. It was the most immersive bowl of noodles I've had in a while. So I had a great experience at Henan Feng Wei. I do have to say that the place isn't the cleanest and most polished place. The tray I got my food on looked kind of dirty and not washed properly. I didn't mind cause the food was so good but definitely something to keep in mind. Based on this experience, I do think this is one of the few places in Flushing that is worth making a trip out for and I'm really hoping the food is just as good when I come back in the future.
This spot is located a bit off the Main Street of downtown flushing. I'd definitely categorize it as a hole in the wall where all the Chinese OGs go. It's order at the counter and sit down setup. Staff was friendly enough. We ordered the lamb noodle soup and seafood stir friend noodles. Came out to about $20. The food at first glance probably isn't the prettiest, but it definitely hits. You can see them making the noodles in the back so you know it's fresh. The actual lamb and seafood quantity could've been more, but there was no shortage of bouncy, delicious noodles. Hit it with some chili oil for some variation and you're good. Overall, solid spot for a casual meal in flushing.
Hand rolled noodles, we got chicken sauce lomein. The picture was a total of 20$ and we split it among 4 of us and it was a decent amount of food. I'd come back to try their soup. It'd be perfect if it was spicier. They were really nice and we payed with zelle. They had Guinness on tap, but no water.
Lamb burger was delicious. Lots of lamb, and had a strong cumin flavor. At $7, it was very reasonably priced given the amount of lamb. Lamb noodle soup was also great value at around 10 for a large. Noodles were good. There wasn't much lamb, and it was a little tough though. So I probably won't order this again Very casual place.
Food: The food is delicious here! From the look of the restaurant, you wouldn't expect much from this place but the food is authentic and amazing. They serve Henan style food, and their noodles are freshly hand pulled behind the counter. We tried the big pan chicken (added noodles to it) and the stir fried noodles with lamb. Both dishes were excellent, and I can't wait to go back again. The big pan chicken is spicy and also has stewed potatoes. The noodles taste so fresh and the texture is nice and bouncy. The noodle dishes are packed with flavor and excellent quality. Service: There are only three staff working here, a cashier and two chefs. It looks like a very small family business. The staff are so nice and friendly. They're very appreciative of their customers. Ambiance: The ambiance isn't the best and the place seems run down and a bit old, but the food is excellent. They have some tables for dining in which can fit small and large groups. The place does fill up during peak meal times. Overall, I would highly recommend this restaurant!
Don't be intimidated by this He Nan cuisine no frills restaurant that requires you to go down the stairs to an unglamorous paved courtyard its doorway in what might be described as either the basement or ground floor level of this building. (Note - He Nan is a province in Central China.) He Nan Mian Guan restaurant (formerly with English signage calling it "He Nan Hui Mian") has almost everything in Chinese inside along with the big screen TV. When I visited, the other patrons all had bowls of soup. The friendly woman behind the counter on my first visit immediately handed me the English language menu. That time, I decided to take to go with me to a Mets game one of their Cumin Lamb Burgers and #12 "Lamb Fired Doodles." The man behind the counter was hand-pulling noodles, so I can attest they were super fresh. Already having enjoyed many Cumin Lamb Burgers elsewhere, must say that this was the juiciest! (Note - Some of the other ones, especially in Flushing, have been dry.) The Burger bun was like a more dense English muffin. The Lamb Fired Noodles were flavorful, but maybe not something I'd order again soon... at least as a "to go" considering how they dumped a little after some time in a container. (Think having the noodles fresh there may make a difference.) Did return on the weekend for another Cumin Lamb Burger, it was that good! In the future, will come back for trying other items on the menu to eat there... possibly even those noodles! Recommend checking He Nan Mian Guan out!
I have no idea what this place is really called - Google, Yelp, and even the sign itself all told me different things LOL. But whatever it's called, the noodles were utterly fantastic. I got the lamb fried noodles ($10). They made the noodles fresh in front of me. The dish came with some bok choy, black fungus, and a few pieces of lamb, which were tender and tasty, but the star of the show was the amazing noodles, which had a delightful chew and were covered in a flavorful sauce with cumin. I gobbled them up greedily and scraped my plate clean. I was so tempted to order another plate and almost gave in. The place is practically the definition of hole in the wall, but what it lacks in appearance and decor, it more than makes up for it in taste and value. $10 for a big plate of delicious homemade noodles - a great deal, especially in our inflation ridden times
The workers are super nice, and the food is fire. Super good and authentic cumin lamb dry noodles. Price is also low compared to New York prices too. Paid 10 bucks for some noodles. Keep in mind they only take cash or zelle. I'd definitely return to this lil gem hidden spot.
Hidden down a set of stairs, He Nan Hui Mian is a no-frills local restaurant in Flushing that specializes in traditional Henan-style noodle dishes, with flavors from Northern China, such as fresh hand-pulled noodles, dumplings, and meat-filled burgers. You can see the long noodles being pulled right in front of you by the sweet family and they have a nice bounce & chew to them once cooked. The dumplings are juicy and delicious, with your choice of filling (pork, lamb, or vegetarian). We got the lamb dumplings and they were great topped with some chili oil. Love the cumin lamb burger here as well - it's filled to the brim lamb in a sesame-filled bun. So flavorful and glistening with fatness. The perfect meal on a cold winter day! I wanted to love this place, but I felt the soup lacked deep flavor. I wanted something heartier and more meaty. The value in coming here lies in the pricing of their food. Everything is priced so affordable. A huge bowl of soup and noodles costs around 10 dollars as of summer 2025 which is too convenient to pass up. The noodles are done by hand and thrown into the water as you're ordering.
It's such a hidden gem for authentic Chinese hand pulled noodles and meat filled pancakes (burgers)! We came across this place on Reddit so we decided to try it out while visiting Flushing and it totally did not disappoint. The main menu has a lot of items but they're all written in Chinese, the English version they offer is a much more condensed version. You order at the front first and it's cash only, then they will call you once your food is ready. It's mostly self serve over here so I don't believe a tip is expected. The hand pulled noodle in the lamb noodle soup as good texture, and the soup you can season it however you like. The lamb pancake (burger) was definitely our favourite though as the meat has such great flavours and you can tell they made this fresh to order
The food outweighs any cons of this place. The broth is rich, the noodles are hand pulled right in front of you, and it comes out quick. The portions are very generous too, considering the low price of $11 for a large Spicy Lamb Noodle Soup, which had plenty of meat and toppings. The broth is properly milky white as it should be, and the mala packs a punch so be prepared for some heat if you order the spicy version. Ordering might be confusing and I ended up walking to the counter, ordering, then later picking up my order, so maybe don't expect to be waited. Though you can dine in, spacing is limited, tables might be slightly dirty and there is no water, so treat it like a very casual hole-in-the-wall. read more
Came at 1:30 on a Saturday and the restaurant had many people eating but not a ton waiting to order. I walked in and someone immediately said welcome to me as I came up to the counter and handed me the English menu. Luckily I had perused it online and discussed items with my mandarin speaking friends. I ordered the popular lamb burger, and the lamb haslet noodle soup (the organs of lamb). The person taking my order spoke English well enough, confirmed my order, told me the price, and I paid immediately. Due to language, I opted to just stand by the front to wait for my food. In that time the tables filled up so I did end up sharing one of the larger tables with several other people. My food came out quite quickly, and I sat down to eat. The noodles (which I watched being freshly pulled) were a great texture, meet was great though there wasn't a lot of it in the soup, and the broth was good! I added chili oil and msg and vinegar to it which was really great in bringing out every flavor. I also really enjoyed the lamb burger, which needed no modifications. I did end up taking that with me to to due to how filling the soup was. Both together were $17 for easily 2-3 meals person dependent. The people working were quite nice, someone even asked me how I liked it as I was bussing my table. I've known about this place for years, ever since I saw it on Strictly Dumplings YouTube channel. Totally kicking myself for not trying it sooner because it quickly became my favorite choice for Lamb Noodle Soup in Flushing. Maybe that was meant to be because now I struggle to want to try any other of the countless good restaurants out here. A huge bowl of Lamb Noodle Soup is only $10. No tipping required. Order at the counter, pick it up when prompted and sit anywhere you like. After you're done, there's a spot to place your trash, trays and bowl. They even have an English menu. +$1 If you get it Mala which I recommend if you can handle some spice because it adds so much flavor. There's condiments on the table so you can adjust the soup to your liking. The soup itself is light but complex, with a rich lamb broth that doesn't have any gaminess. A lot of Chinese folks like it the way it is but for American tastes, I think it would come off as slightly bland. I like to have a few sips adding only salt and white pepper to appreciate the original taste. Then I doctor it up with black vinegar, even more white pepper and their chili which is actually spicy. It becomes addictively delicious. The wide hand pulled noodles which they stretch and cook to order has the perfect bite and chew. I didn't want to make this review because I seldom make "bad" reviews. But I could've went somewhere else. Of course I was "influenced" by Instagram and came to this place thinking it was going to be a great experience. I love coming to flushing for food, I love the small places, I love the less known and tucked away spots. I've been to China and eaten in places where there's no wifi to understand the menu. This place needs so much improvement. I ordered the spicy lamb soup and got an herbal tea. Altogether it was $13.50 cash. The people were pleasant and the younger man was kind. I didn't feel unwelcomed. I had hopes. I left the $1.50 in the bucket and went outside for a moment. In a video I saw that this broth was "made over and over from some of the last and everything was so flavorful."The soup was bland. Even with the spicy oil on it. I had to add a lot of salt for some flavor. Once I added the salt, it was a better soup. As I'm eating the soup, I begin to hear heavy coughing. Like wet coughs. Every 5-10 minutes. This gave me so much worry because the kitchen is so small and you can visibly see the noodles being pulled. I should've stopped eating right then. But people kept coming in and out of the establishment that I convinced myself the air is moving everything out and that in so many people are coming in and ordering, then it must be fine. The reason why I'm making this review is that there was no review on this page to at least give caution. I'm not saying that you shouldn't go here, I'm saying that this was my experience and had I known it was going to be this way I would've went to another place. The restaurant itself is small. Things are greasy. But it's a hole in the wall. I don't think anyone is expecting shangri-la. If you want to try this place, sure. If you have to choose between this place and another place... I also came down with a wet cough and had stomach issues immediately after. Update: the cough hasn't stopped but has slowed down because of medicine. If you come here, stay inside and watch your food being prepared. read more
Wow - authentic delicious hand pulled noodles in Flushing! Location was a bit hard to find since Yelp and Google Maps say different things and the actual storefront is another name, but basically if you see He Nan or some variant, you are in the right spot. The restaurant is downstairs the street level. I got the lamb fired noodle (dry hand pulled noodle, aka no soup) and it was only $10, cash only. The hand pulled noodles are chewy and perfectly al dente - can't get any better than that. The very first bite I am like, wow, I am impressed. Food came out fast, once you order in the front. There is no English in the menu unless you request English menu, further adding to the authenticity. No frills, delicious food, and quick. read more

I came here for their cumin lamb burger. It's currently my favorite cumin lamb burger in flushing. It's $7 and they put a lot of meat in it, no veggie fillers like some other spots have started doing. They have one small menu with some English writing so it was easy to point and show as a non Chinese speaker. Paid at the counter and grabbed a seat while waiting for my burger. They're located downstairs from the street level, a little tucked away. read more

Hole in the wall, hidden gem, mom and pop shop. It was cold and we were in search for anything hot and soupy. First time here, brought along a longtime college friend of mine in search for great dumpling. No frills, you order at the counter. I ordered a large spicy lamb hand pulled noodle soup, cumin lamb burger and 15 pieces of their pork and cabbage dumplings. Great portion, their boiled dumpling has a great balance of meat and dough paired with their mature vinegar sauce and hot oil pepper. It's pretty spicy, dont do the same mistake I did, I just put more hot oil in my soup, viola... Im sweating and sweat running thru my nose... Lamb doesnt have a strong after taste or smell, they cook it really well. read more

The cumin lamb noodles here were SO good. It had the right balance of cumin, saltiness, and acidity. I've eaten a lot of hand pulled noodles, but what stands out here was definitely the texture. It had the perfect chew/bounce and didn't get soggy quickly. The pork and cabbage dumplings were one of the best I've had as well. Food was amazing with good portion size for the price. Taste of China. Service was fast, order and food came out in 5 mins. Menu was in Chinese so I used pictures. I had trouble finding the place at first as it's hidden behind a set of stairs. read more
This place is a bit hidden because of the stairs you have to take down to the entrance. There are tables and chairs set up, but you have to walk further in to the chef. There's a menu in Chinese with pricing. I literally showed the guy a photo of noodles and told him I wanted lamb meat. He got it ready (I watched him hand pull the noodles) and charged me ten bucks! It was the best $10 noodle I had in New York City. It's making me hungry just thinking about it. There was a spicy sauce on the table. It was a good old sauce that was actually very spicy. I had to pay for some soda ($2/can), but they also have bottled drinks in the fridge. I saw another customer order a glass of beer. This is a hidden gem in Flushing. read more
After a bout of the The COVID (as my mom tends to call it - adding the THE for emphasis lol) with congested sinuses blocking my smell and taste this week I am finally feeling better. I need a meal to celebrate and perhaps help work out the last of it. I could not have made a better choice in He Nan Hui Mian. The Stir Fried Lamb Noodles from here were just what the doctor ordered - the intense cumin and spice flavor was like going to see a 3-D, technicolor, IMAX, Dolby Atmos movie after a week of watching grainy black and white tv! Although I had this delivered where the noodle texture takes a bit of hit they are still fantastic and the spicy oil just seals the deal (and helps open my sinsuses! haha) . This is one of my favorite noodle dishes. Although I ordered lamb noodles the meat isn't really the focus (the hand pulled noodles are). They don't provide much, but the lamb burger gives plenty and is a good addition - with its well made sesame seed embedded bun (pancake). Trying to keep it on the healthier side I ordered some vegetable dumplings and was happy surprised to see the vibrant green (green means healthy right?) filling inside tender, delicious dumplings accompanied by black vinegar dipping sauce. read more
This is a no frills hole-in-the-wall restaurant located in the lower level and easily missed if you're not specifically looking for it. The people that frequent seem to all be locals. The menu on the wall are all in Chinese, I'm not even sure if they have an English menu anywhere. I ordered the fried lamb noodles because it seems to be pretty popular. The noodle is freshly hand-pulled. There is only counter service and you pay when you order. For $10, the dish is very filling and well-seasoned with a reasonable amount of lamb and some veggies. The star is the noodles which has a springy, chewy texture. The cumin taste is not too strong which is what I prefer and adding chili oil on top makes it perfect. read more

I stopped by here the other day to try out a new place. I ordered the following: Cumin lamb noodles-good chewy noodles, slight cumin flavor, tender lamb, very cheap with the lamb. Overall: It was only ok, there are better places nearby. read more
For $10, you can't beat it! Even when it was pouring out, this little shop tucked on a lower level was still bustling with regulars grabbing a quick meal of soupy noodles. I came here for the appetizing looking stir fried noodles. Their menu was unfortunately all in Chinese, so I used my minimal Mandarin to point to a picture and went from there. I did see an English menu somewhere on Yelp though, so ordering here is not a problem! Cash only though! The harder part for me was knowing when my order was going to be called since it was in Mandarin, haha. The Lamb Stir Fried Noodles ($10) did not disappoint! The cumin flavor really added the flair in encouraging your every bite. The Beef Stir Fried Noodles ($10) was much different without that flavor, and the pieces tasted more like bbq pork, and so dry too! Get the lamb, y'all. The noodles were so bouncy and chewy, in perfectly imperfect stringy long strands. I don't like onions usually, but the onions and veggies here were so well flavored, I cleared the whole plate by the end of it. I also recommend adding chili oil to introduce a kick to your dish. They also played a traditional Chinese drama on TV, which made me want to stay for longer. But overall, I would definitely come again to try more menu items! read more
