    3.5 and rounded up. I've been here several times for takeout of their roast chasiu pork and duck, they're my go-to in Flushing since they're very consistent and don't give too much of the fatty sections on the bbq pork. Known for their Cantonese style Chinese food, key dishes here are aforementioned barbecued meat over rice and noodles, chowfun (wok tossed wide rice noodles), lo mein, fried rice, congee, wontons, and the ubiquitous chefs specials section. This category lumps everything else into it--including traditional casseroles, salt&pepper pork chops, walnut shrimp, pan-fried flounder, black pepper steak, and dishes with salted fish, bitter melon, pickled vegetables. Breakfast options aside from noodles and congee include steamed rice rolls with a variety of protein or carb fillings--the usual choices like roast pork, minced meat, shrimp, and deep fried crullers. My last meal eaten at the restaurant consisted of wonton noodle soup and roast pork noodles. This was a while back though I recall food being decently good and portions fair for the price, though probably nothing to write home about. Inflation has increased prices like everything else though this place is still a decent value. Service is no frills but fast. About 20 seats towards the middle and back of the restaurant, tables/booths for 2 or 4. During my latest visit last week noticed they've added more food for take out, including a section at the front next to the register with prepared dishes you can mix and match.

    Cuisine: 7 Service: 7 Decor: 5 Value: 9 Overall: 7 This is a very solid option in Flushing if you want to find some good Cantonese roast meats and typical comfort food dishes. My favorite items here are the awesome Soy Sauce Chicken and Steamed Buffalo Fish w/ Black Bean Sauce (when available). Crispy Roast Pig is also one of the better ones in the area. Everything else is decent too, like their Sautéed String Beans and Over Rice Dishes. The Shrimp w/ Scrambled Egg Sauce is a childhood favorite, and I would score their version 7/10. Btw, the daily house soup that comes with the rice dish is always delicious. I would say that their clay pot rices are just average, and their Fish Fillet w/ Braised Tofu Casserole is one of the weaker items. Bottom line. This is a great place to get your fix of classic Cantonese style comfort food. I am happy to eat here regularly and will continue to do so.

    My family comes to Rongwang on Roosevelt for charsiu take out every week. Even if we don't come in person, I will order it on Fantuan or ubereats. It was always our go to! Unfortunately, lately the service has been highly disappointing! We ordered Char Siu over rice and the man in charge of chopping the meat split the Char Siu in half before chopping it like they usually do. Then he splits it and spread it out on the rice like it's fully covered. We ended up getting another box of just Char Siu on its own... which was chopped by another lady. Look at the pic for comparison! Who does business like this?! Duly noted, I'll take my business elsewhere going forward.

    Portions were tiny compared to what I used to get at other stores (they put the meat in a smaller container - grew up in Flushing and I never seen such a small container for these dishes before) The meat was also extra salty, and a bit burnt if I have to say. This was definitely overcharged, and can get better value at other stores. A bit disappointed since I grew up eating this dish and had high expectations.

    I came to Rongwang after recommendation from my mom, who is quite a picky eater. I ordered the dry wonton lo mein ($10) for takeout. When you order it this way, you get soup on the side, so the noodles do not get soggy when you reheat at home. The dish has a decent portion of noodles, 5 shrimp pork wontons, and a few pieces of choy. The soup and wontons were very flavorful. The only con was that the choy tasted old, but overall it was good. Would definitely come back for this dish. Note, there is no tax if you pay in cash. Additionally, I see them selling prepackaged food outside at times. Next time, I'll take a look to see what affordable meals I can snag because there are usually a good number of customers looking to buy as well.

    Bonus points cause she called me leng lui. But seriously, the lady working was very kind. I haven't had the 3 Precious Ingredients Over Rice ($11) in a minute, so it did indeed hit the spot. However, I do want to note this dish mentions egg, but it did not come with one. And their duck skin was more prominent than actual meat. I would dine in to try more foods if I get the chance, but it's nice to have a Cantonese option in the area.

    It was an impulse buy to try something new. Duck with soy sauce is not the best one and more on the fattier side. $20 for half duck. The customer service was fast and efficient. Would come again for other food to try. But not a huge fan of this duck.

    Solid Canto spot with all the typical offerings that you would expect to find, from roast meats to congee to wonton noodle soup to claypot rice. I usually get their roast meats, which are quite good. You can get two roast meats over rice for $10, which is crazy cheap. Service is typically very quick and I've rarely been disappointed by their food.

    I have ordered Broccoli w.Braised Fish Over Fish and Roast Duck Leg Over Rice, both taste pretty good. But compare to other similar restaurants, they are more expensive. By the way, the lady who picked up the phone and check me out in the cashier is very nice and gentle.

    A newly opened (one month old) Cantonese restaurant, right outside of the subway escalator. The young lady is very friendly. The service is good. Food is slightly above average. We took them to the US Open , which is great: S1 Dumplings - ok H2 Rice noodle chow fun and beef 干炒牛河 - very good T3 roasted duck - ok They've one big and clean bathroom. For the convenience, after US Open I returned for more E15 salty fish, chicken and eggplant - this classic dish began with tofu but they use eggplant which is pretty good E12 beef stew - good Beef and bitter melon - good (huge pieces) T6 n T7 roast pig - good Wish them good luck and prosper.

    A friend of mine turned me on to this Cantonese restaurant. Everything I had tried was delicious, and the service was of excellence. Also, they make roast meats as in roast duck, roast pork, barbecue pork, spare ribs, etc. The roast meats are seasoned well and not overly salted like in many other restaurants. It's very reasonable in price, and I highly recommend this restaurant to all!

    I haven't physically walked in this place but the hubs picked up some congee, wonton mein, spare ribs and some other things. I think my favorite was the fish congee. It's the classic Cantonese style dishes right on Roosevelt!

    Every time I go to Flushing I try to get take out from this place. L is so tall and Latino, the ladies usually recognize us. They're very nice, sometimes he comes by himself to get take out for us. I usually get char siu and beef chow fun. There isn't a ton of beef but decent amount considering that it's only $13... Chinese restaurants are charging $15-18. My mom likes this place as well so we had lunch here 2 weeks ago. I introduced my family to the lady that is usually at the front when she passed by our table. So friendly.. everyone is so kind. Gave us glasses of hot tea and refilled them a few times as well. Even dumped my mom's cold tea just so she could have it hot. Fantastic service especially for my first time dining in here.. Ordered beef chow fun, chicken chow mein both very low sodium which they easily accommodated us. Lots of wok hei. Still quite tasty for my mom and I. My mom also had fish congee which comes with lots of fish. My brother had the 3 bbq meats over rice...char siu, soy sauce chicken, and roast duck. I don't why people are complaining about the lack of meat in duck...that's just how it is at several Chinese restaurants. It's mostly skin and fat. Pipa duck might have more meat. We sat there for a few hrs so my mom could chat with my brother and they gave us more hot tea. My brother ordered something else to bring home. He tipped 20% for lunch for us 3.. We came here just last week again since we were in the area. 2 lbs of char siu, 2 fish congees, beef, squid congee, beef chow fun with no soy sauce but extra wok hei, young chow fried rice less sodium. Char siu has always been good, mix of lean and fatty, so lots of flavor. We get so many meals from 2lbs and it still tastes really good after days..... Can't say that about other places. Roast pig skin here was still crispy from a 1 hr commute home. The roast pig wasn't as salty like other restaurants. For us it was great, but there's also a lil container of hoisin on the side which we rarely ever use.I loved the beef chow fun, seasoned lightly...less soy sauce, but had lots of wok hei. Good portion too. They also make the best congees ever. I've tried so many places.. RongWang makes the best congee. Everything is so fresh. They reheat the congee in small pots unlike other restaurants, sitting in huge pots so the congee gets dry and thick. From the peanuts to each protein, to the strips of ginger. So good.. even my mom prefers this place over Shun Won. They are selling food outside the restaurant for convenience but I'd prefer to go inside and have everything made to order. But I did see them package all the food that was going to be sold right outside. They had a good amount of customers looking to buy them so they might sell quickly. I don't know how much it costs...

My one gripe, and it applies to the whole surrounding area and not just Maxi's: there are basically no bathrooms to be found. Plan accordingly before you commit to a big bowl of soup. Cheap, tasty, authentic. Everything a Flushing noodle spot should be.
