Very classic Cantonese style restaurant. We ordered roast duck & wonton noodle soup, beef chow fun, spare rib rice casserole, and 3 meats over rice. Everything was delicious. Especially loved the beef chow fun because you can really taste the "wok hei", which is the charred taste. It's a very classic dish and they nailed it. Wish that the roast duck was more meaty. Some of the pieces were just skin . As far as the place itself, it's tight in there and doesn't look fancy at all. It's very casual. Service was good.
We got take out, rice box with four choices of entrees. There were literally 30 plus choices and it comes with a very tasty daily soup. Likely one of the best deal in Flushing Chinatown. The cost, only $10 eat in or take out. Each rice box is enough food for two people ( at least for us ).

I've been here several times for takeout of their roast chasiu pork and duck, they're my go-to in Flushing since they're very consistent and don't give too much of the fatty sections on the bbq pork. Known for their Cantonese style Chinese food, key dishes here are aforementioned barbecued meat over rice and noodles, chowfun (wok tossed wide rice noodles), lo mein, fried rice, congee, wontons, and the ubiquitous chefs specials section. This category lumps everything else into it--including traditional casseroles, salt&pepper pork chops, walnut shrimp, pan-fried flounder, black pepper steak, and dishes with salted fish, bitter melon, pickled vegetables. Breakfast options aside from noodles and congee include steamed rice rolls with a variety of protein or carb fillings--the usual choices like roast pork, minced meat, shrimp, and deep fried crullers. My last meal eaten at the restaurant consisted of wonton noodle soup and roast pork noodles. This was a while back though I recall food being decently good and portions fair for the price, though probably nothing to write home about. Inflation has increased prices like everything else though this place is still a decent value. Service is no frills but fast. About 20 seats towards the middle and back of the restaurant, tables/booths for 2 or 4. During my latest visit last week noticed they've added more food for take out, including a section at the front next to the register with prepared dishes you can mix and match.
Very convenient to grab food right off the train station exit and entrance but the roast pork and roast pig isn't the best in the neighborhood. Service is quick and the workers are friendly. I would need to try a sit down lunch to get the claypot rice to try.
Cuisine: 7 Service: 7 Decor: 5 Value: 9 Overall: 7 This is a very solid option in Flushing if you want to find some good Cantonese roast meats and typical comfort food dishes. My favorite items here are the awesome Soy Sauce Chicken and Steamed Buffalo Fish w/ Black Bean Sauce (when available). Crispy Roast Pig is also one of the better ones in the area. Everything else is decent too, like their Sautéed String Beans and Over Rice Dishes. The Shrimp w/ Scrambled Egg Sauce is a childhood favorite, and I would score their version 7/10. Btw, the daily house soup that comes with the rice dish is always delicious. I would say that their clay pot rices are just average, and their Fish Fillet w/ Braised Tofu Casserole is one of the weaker items. Bottom line. This is a great place to get your fix of classic Cantonese style comfort food. I am happy to eat here regularly and will continue to do so.
Portions were tiny compared to what I used to get at other stores (they put the meat in a smaller container - grew up in Flushing and I never seen such a small container for these dishes before) The meat was also extra salty, and a bit burnt if I have to say. This was definitely overcharged, and can get better value at other stores. A bit disappointed since I grew up eating this dish and had high expectations.
I came to Rongwang after recommendation from my mom, who is quite a picky eater. I ordered the dry wonton lo mein ($10) for takeout. When you order it this way, you get soup on the side, so the noodles do not get soggy when you reheat at home. The dish has a decent portion of noodles, 5 shrimp pork wontons, and a few pieces of choy. The soup and wontons were very flavorful. The only con was that the choy tasted old, but overall it was good. Would definitely come back for this dish. Note, there is no tax if you pay in cash. Additionally, I see them selling prepackaged food outside at times. Next time, I'll take a look to see what affordable meals I can snag because there are usually a good number of customers looking to buy as well.
My family comes to Rongwang on Roosevelt for charsiu take out every week. Even if we don't come in person, I will order it on Fantuan or ubereats. It was always our go to! Unfortunately, lately the service has been highly disappointing! We ordered Char Siu over rice and the man in charge of chopping the meat split the Char Siu in half before chopping it like they usually do. Then he splits it and spread it out on the rice like it's fully covered. We ended up getting another box of just Char Siu on its own... which was chopped by another lady. Look at the pic for comparison! Who does business like this?! Duly noted, I'll take my business elsewhere going forward.
Bonus points cause she called me leng lui. But seriously, the lady working was very kind. I haven't had the 3 Precious Ingredients Over Rice ($11) in a minute, so it did indeed hit the spot. However, I do want to note this dish mentions egg, but it did not come with one. And their duck skin was more prominent than actual meat. I would dine in to try more foods if I get the chance, but it's nice to have a Cantonese option in the area.
Solid Canto spot with all the typical offerings that you would expect to find, from roast meats to congee to wonton noodle soup to claypot rice. I usually get their roast meats, which are quite good. You can get two roast meats over rice for $10, which is crazy cheap. Service is typically very quick and I've rarely been disappointed by their food.
I have ordered Broccoli w.Braised Fish Over Fish and Roast Duck Leg Over Rice, both taste pretty good. But compare to other similar restaurants, they are more expensive. By the way, the lady who picked up the phone and check me out in the cashier is very nice and gentle.
This is a great spot for authentic Cantonese food! Their roast meats are juicy and flavorful. A lot of people come here for take out but it's definitely worth dining in for a meal. They have all the classic rice and noodles dishes. Service is fast and friendly. read more
This Cantonese restaurant in Flushing is easy to walk right past, but I'm so glad we decided to go in! The place is small and cozy, but the menu is enormous with so many authentic choices. The chicken lo mein was flavorful and delicious, and the clay pot dish was a standout--the crispy rice on the bottom was absolutely incredible. What really made the experience special was the service. Our waitress was exceptionally friendly, attentive, and helpful throughout the entire meal. Rong Wang is one of my new go-to spots for Cantonese comfort food in Flushing, Queens. Their roast meats are on point and they offer many popular Cantonese dishes that make me feel right at home, like congee, noodle soups, clams in black bean sauce, claypot rice, casseroles etc! Not to mention the staff and owner are super friendly, hence why there are so many loyal locals! read more

Solid Canto spot with all the typical offerings that you would expect to find, from roast meats to congee to wonton noodle soup to claypot rice. I usually get their roast meats, which are quite good. You can get two roast meats over rice for $10, which is crazy cheap. Service is typically very quick and I've rarely been disappointed by their food. read more

It was an impulse buy to try something new. Duck with soy sauce is not the best one and more on the fattier side. $20 for half duck. The customer service was fast and efficient. Would come again for other food to try. But not a huge fan of this duck. read more

A newly opened (one month old) Cantonese restaurant, right outside of the subway escalator. The young lady is very friendly. The service is good. Food is slightly above average. We took them to the US Open , which is great: S1 Dumplings - ok H2 Rice noodle chow fun and beef 干炒牛河 - very good T3 roasted duck - ok They've one big and clean bathroom. For the convenience, after US Open I returned for more E15 salty fish, chicken and eggplant - this classic dish began with tofu but they use eggplant which is pretty good E12 beef stew - good Beef and bitter melon - good (huge pieces) T6 n T7 roast pig - good Wish them good luck and prosper. read more
I haven't physically walked in this place but the hubs picked up some congee, wonton mein, spare ribs and some other things. I think my favorite was the fish congee. It's the classic Cantonese style dishes right on Roosevelt! read more
Every time I go to Flushing I try to get take out from this place. L is so tall and Latino, the ladies usually recognize us. They're very nice, sometimes he comes by himself to get take out for us. I usually get char siu and beef chow fun. There isn't a ton of beef but decent amount considering that it's only $13... Chinese restaurants are charging $15-18. My mom likes this place as well so we had lunch here 2 weeks ago. I introduced my family to the lady that is usually at the front when she passed by our table. So friendly.. everyone is so kind. Gave us glasses of hot tea and refilled them a few times as well. Even dumped my mom's cold tea just so she could have it hot. Fantastic service especially for my first time dining in here.. Ordered beef chow fun, chicken chow mein both very low sodium which they easily accommodated us. Lots of wok hei. Still quite tasty for my mom and I. My mom also had fish congee which comes with lots of fish. My brother had the 3 bbq meats over rice...char siu, soy sauce chicken, and roast duck. I don't why people are complaining about the lack of meat in duck...that's just how it is at several Chinese restaurants. It's mostly skin and fat. Pipa duck might have more meat. We sat there for a few hrs so my mom could chat with my brother and they gave us more hot tea. My brother ordered something else to bring home. He tipped 20% for lunch for us 3.. We came here just last week again since we were in the area. 2 lbs of char siu, 2 fish congees, beef, squid congee, beef chow fun with no soy sauce but extra wok hei, young chow fried rice less sodium. Char siu has always been good, mix of lean and fatty, so lots of flavor. We get so many meals from 2lbs and it still tastes really good after days..... Can't say that about other places. Roast pig skin here was still crispy from a 1 hr commute home. The roast pig wasn't as salty like other restaurants. For us it was great, but there's also a lil container of hoisin on the side which we rarely ever use.I loved the beef chow fun, seasoned lightly...less soy sauce, but had lots of wok hei. Good portion too. They also make the best congees ever. I've tried so many places.. RongWang makes the best congee. Everything is so fresh. They reheat the congee in small pots unlike other restaurants, sitting in huge pots so the congee gets dry and thick. From the peanuts to each protein, to the strips of ginger. So good.. even my mom prefers this place over Shun Won. They are selling food outside the restaurant for convenience but I'd prefer to go inside and have everything made to order. But I did see them package all the food that was going to be sold right outside. They had a good amount of customers looking to buy them so they might sell quickly. A friend of mine turned me on to this Cantonese restaurant. Everything I had tried was delicious, and the service was of excellence. Also, they make roast meats as in roast duck, roast pork, barbecue pork, spare ribs, etc. The roast meats are seasoned well and not overly salted like in many other restaurants. It's very reasonable in price, and I highly recommend this restaurant to all! read more
A new Chinese restaurant open in Flushing recently. It is across the street from Macy's on Roosevelt Avenue. I bought roasted pork for take out. The price was decent. It was expected. The restaurant seems to be quite small. I wanted to dine-in early in the day to eat but it was packed. So I decided to come back another day. I'm happy there is Chinese restaurant in the neighborhood especially there aren't many Chinese restaurants with roasted / BBQ meat around the area anymore. The roasted pork was good. I would love try more of their other roasted meat on their menu next time. read more

Been wanting to check this tongue twister of a name since they opened but it was always packed and the space is quite small. But it's the layout, more narrow than wide... . Anyways, wanted to have some roast meats for dinner so I decided to check them out. I did go at a fairly earlier than I normally would to avoid the dinner crowd around 630ish.. to my surprise, there was no line/wait... . I got my usual (pic shown) and a soy chicken with roast pig... usually these take the butcher like a minute to prepare but this took awhile. The butcher was also very far away so you can't really see what you are getting and if the pieces look good or bad... he also took awhile to chop them up . Let's skip to the good part. We were not impressed and not disappointed either. The Good: Roast duck was on point, skin was good. Soy chicken was good, white meat was not too dry and the skin was not overly greasy.. they gave a decent amount of veggies The Bad: The roast pork felt like it was from 3 different cuts and over a bit on the dry side. The roast pig was ok, not too too dry but the skin was not crispy at all. It didn't travel long before I got home, no crisp whatsoever. The rice was very mushy, couldn't mix the soy sauce they drizzle over with the rice. It was either a block of soy sauce or a block of just plain white rice... . Does the bad over power the good? I dunno. Sometimes these roast meat places have a bad day, and maybe I caught the ones that had a bad day... ... . I do want to try their clay pots... as it gets cooler, I'll try their clay pots... . Truly authentic Cantonese food! Just walking in you can tell that this place is the real deal. The staff are extremely hospitable and kind, and the food is flavorful and delicious. Came here with my parents and grandpa, they were all pleased with the food and I was glad to have some vegan options. Must try: CHOW MEIN W/ SOY SAUCE, my grandpa loved this dish, it was super flavorful and had everything you'd want in a stirfry noodle dish. BITTER MELON & EGG, I didnt have this, but my parent did and loved it. The egg was perfectly cooked, authentic canto dish. CLAYPOT RICE, a classic canto dish you dont want to miss out on and there's a variety of types to choose from. Skip: SCALLION PANCAKE, there are better places in Flushing to get scallion pancakes. They just use the ones you can by from the supermarket, so not worth it. The Damage: 1 clay pot, 2 dishes, 1 noodle, 1 scallion pancake for 4 people and we had a lot of left over. The total was $50 (not including tip and tax). Not bad considering how expensive eating out has gotten. If youre craving authentic Cantonese food, definitely give this spot a try! read more

I've been waiting for this store to open for a while now and I'm so happy that I finally got to try their food today! I got 2 orders of two meats with eggs. For the first one, I got roast pig (aka siu yuk) and roast pork (aka char siu). For the second one, I got soy sauce chicken and roast duck. Each order was packed with white rice covered with a few spoonfuls of sauce, cabbage, and a healthy portion of two meats. The meats were tender and flavorful. Eveyrthing tasted like authentic Cantonese food. I wanted to get their fried sweet dough (one of my favorite foods!) but they had run out by early afternoon. I'll try to stop by in the morning next time to see if they have it in stock. I love that Flushing now has Cantonese style food right by the 7 train. Rong Wang's location on Roosevelt Avenue makes it easily accessible to commuters and locals and I can't wait to swing by again to try their other items! read more

This store doesn't deserve 1 star, if I can give 0 stars I would. I got an order of duck feet for my family. We almost finished it when we saw a COCKROACH in the duck feet! That cockroach was stuffed in between the duck feet. There were multiple cockroaches in my order. This restaurant is a health hazard! PLEASE DON'T ORDER FROM THIS RESTAURANT UNLESS YOU WANT COCKROACHES IN YOUR FOOD! read more

Really good for take out. Bao zai fan was only 12 dollars and some places sell it for 30 now. It has a lot of cured items, well crisped rice and good soy sauce. Half duck wasn't that much, but it's standard portion. It was fatty and not dry. I would go try things in the restaurant one day. read more

Ordered half duck today, this is what I get for $18. No duck breast, all fatty skins and bones. If you are going to order something from this restaurant, I suggest you not! Go somewhere else for the god dam duck. read more

One of the few Cantonese style restaurants in the area and there aren't that many but this one is really good. Claypot rice/casserole are one of the best things here, portions are quite generous as well. It's a classic dish and they get it right. Cooked the rice perfectly with that crispy bottom and good flavours. You also can't go wrong with the hanging roast meats here, grab some for dinner. read more

Newest cantonese cuisine added to flushing. You know the food is gonna be banging when you hear that perfect cantonese/toisan once you walk in. We ordered a few/too many things and it came out very fast, even though it was so busy in there. Kids loved the beef and chow fun. Portion size was very generous and the price ain't bad. My tummy is content and I can't wait to go back -- for their congee! And clay pot! And cha siew! read more
