Number of samples and I ended up with a Pink Party & Pizza Claw! Hee
    Kay O.

Driving up to the henhouse brewery my boyfriend and I were looking to get some beer and lo and behold. There was a pizza truck out in front! I got a pizza claw which was freaking amazing! It had a little side salad, and some great spicy, arugula and fresh grated Parmesan Reggiano on top then I got to taste a handful of different beers and I decided to go with this delicious "pink drink. "And they had another perfect citrus drink that had more of an orange flavored to it and I forgot what that name was! I recently found out. I have a gluten allergy, so I was trying to do a cider beer or something light. I also like stout, which usually don't have too much gluten in them, but I figured with a gluten pizza I didn't want to do overkill, so the "pink drink. "Was perfect since it's a cider!! The bar environment was really nice and there was an older gentleman there who was incredibly friendly and knowledgeable about the different brews and craft. There was a younger gentleman there who seemed like he just liked pouring beer and didn't speak as much, but I know that's a generational gap. Lol perhaps I'm old-fashioned or just hung out with older people too much where I talk a lot! Lol the older gentleman was incredibly knowledgeable, even though he had salt and pepper hair, I thought he was the brewmaster, but he joked and said he just worked there. Oops! Great place to hang out, and I will definitely be back!!

We went to Hen House Brewing Co. as it was their Soco Market Brewery Night Market!! I have only been to HenHouse once before and enjoyed it. I liked the night market, it was a great vibe, and I liked the beer. Parking is at a premium, and there were a lot of people at the market. I had the Stoked Hazy pale ale, and it was delicious. I am usually not a Hazy fan, but my buddy loves them and so I thought I would give it a try. Okay, I might have had two, but I was not driving. They had lots of tables and seats, and we had to stand for a little bit until some seats opened. We visited the market area and ended up trying and buying some Chamoy with my beer. Hey, no judgment, I am not a big beer guy, but this enhanced my experience. We split an order of fries from Galvans food truck, and it was huge. I also bought some Chamoy rim spice after a lengthy talk with the owner. He educated me on the different types and after giving me a sample, I had to buy some. Yummy!

The Denver Airport IPA from HenHouse Brewing Company!
    Alden C.

HenHouse Brewing Company was a brewery I had beer from recently and I have to say I was really amused with the whole thing. Steve and I had their beer called Denver Airport. Now, I just loved the can art for this with pictures of the Denver International Airport's tented roof structure in the background and the blue demonic horse statue that greets yow with it's blazing red eyes every time you go the airport. I am partial to all of this because it takes me back to the days I lived in Colorado and the Denver area so it was great to reflect and laugh at the can on that note. Of course I hoarded the can away along with my other beer cans I have saved based on the art alone. Well, enough about the can art and onto the beer. We had the beer called Denver Airport and it was an IPA . It was pretty good and I liked how it seemed a bit different with the flavors of mango, bitterness and a general tropical flavor to it. Not a bad IPA at all! To make the experience even more complete I purchased a brewery t shirt which I loved that had a Death Metal look and design to it that completed a very rewarding, reflective and as I already said amusing beer experience with HenHouse Brewing Company!

Another chill day hanging out at Henhouse. Unfortunately the "Big Chicken" is gone but gave me the opportunity to try a couple new one. Always a good time. No outside it's still 53 deg

Came here on midday on a weekend so it wasn't too busy. Great beer selection and they had a food truck on site. Had some indoor and outdoor seating. It was a nice day so we sat outside at the picnic tables. Good hangout spot if you just wanna grab a couple beers and relax.

Update Sunday April 24, 2022: Last week I planned a visit for today with some friends for the Camacho BBQ food truck and beers. Both the Henhouse on-line calendar and Camacho calendar showed that the event was on. We arrived 12 noon to find the place closed. A paper sign on door said "Annual employee party". I came home, clicked on the Henhouse FaceBook page. They posted 8am this morning that they would be closed for the party. Gee, thanks for the announcement with 4 hours notice. Piss poor customer relations, communication and support. No return ever for me ____________________________________________ April 2022. Inspired to come here for the Streetside Asian food truck that is parked here several days per week. See my review of the truck food. My 1st visit to Henhouse. Vaccination card and CA ID required to enter. Lots of different flavor brews. I ordered the six glass sampler and a pint of Crosby Pro-Am ale. These brews certainly have distinctive mouth feels and flavors! It's as though each were made by a different brewer. It's not a family of beers, more like a rowdy unrelated gang. That said, all the beer I tasted (even six samples is not half of what was on the menu) was high quality and tasted alive. Kudos. Special shout out to the imperial stout. It's a taste bud and mind blower. Intense coffee flavor, intense alcohol kick. 1 star deleted for the minuscule kind'a dirty (sticky table tops) indoor drinking area, way too loud music and the cashier who had the personality of a rock. She smirked at me and was curt because I'm a clean cut senior citizen not her preferred customer who is a 30 year old bearded, tattooed overweight beer bro'. I like the beer, not the place.Last week

Love HenHouse, my husband and I have been coming to HenHouse for some years now. Very friendly servers who explain the brewing process and flavor in detail. I've always loved that they collab with other breweries quite frequently which is awesome! Their flights are preselected which is new, I do wish we could select our own pours to make a flight but this new method encourages you to try new beer and maybe find one you didn't think you'd like! Large selection of cans and bottles to go as well! They always have rotating food trucks, this time Galvan's Eatery was there we ordered their Asada Fries (a MUST) & crispy Quesabirria. Plenty of covered outdoor seating and heaters everywhere for the cold days. They have two locations both equally awesome!

Hen House is one of the best breweries in Santa Rosa! Their hazy IPAs are my favorite (Grain Bravy and Philadelphia Experiment are my top 2). And Big Chicken does not disappoint! This is a low-key taproom located in an industrial area of Santa Rosa. They have a great outdoor patio with picnic tables and heaters. There's usually a food truck parked outside as well. I miss the days when they served free popcorn! Overall, great beer selection (especially IPAs) and a fun place to relax with friends.

This place is a hidden gem !! Me and my husband love beer and where we live is the best but this place had a amazing variety of beer on tap ! We would come here again for sure

The staff went above and beyond to show me a local selection and I was very impressed with the diversity of IPAs here. Atmosphere was so relaxing and they had warm fire stations with tons of sitting outside and inside absolutely five stars in highly recommend this place! Also, there may be a diversity of two trucks, but I tried one tonight and it was awesome as well to have a food pairing with beer!

Good vibes, good beer! Who says Mondays have to bring the blues or Sunday is the funday; on my most recent trip to Henhouse this past Monday, my friend and I decided to stop in as it had been several years since we'd ventured over and wanted a change of scenery from our regular haunts. I was pleasantly surprised by all the upgrades they had made to create a truly inviting outdoor seating space in what used to be just a warehouse turned taproom. Both the indoor and outdoor spaces are comfortable and inviting. I love the addition of the pergolas with picnic benches with the eco friendly grass; it completely transformed the concrete entry into a great place to sit and enjoy a pint or two with friends or fur babies. They also have a great rotation of food trucks to complete the experience. I will be adding Henhouse to my rotation of funday destinations as they have a variety of beers on tap from Light ABV lagers to a variety iPAs, stout, saison, sours; something for most everyone ( who likes good beer).

Ask the Community - HenHouse Brewing Company

Do they have any NA beers?

I went a few months back, so not back then. I'd call and ask. I got a cider beer and they had GREAT pizza Pop Up Food Truck! Hee

    Are dogs allowed?

    Yes, on the patio.

Is there indoor service now (5/25/21)?

    Yes, but it is limited.

Are they open to drink at the brewery now (6/14/20)? As if 6/15 neither location is open for on premise consumption

    Yup

No dogs allowed, but how about kids?

Kids are fine, especially in the outdoor area where they have the food trucks.

How much do the growlers cost?

They have different prices for different beers. The prices are by class of beer, the darker the more expensive. I recently filled up a 32 oz. growler with IPA. It was $13 for the beer and $5 for the bottle. I believe it is $18 to fill a 64 oz.…

The original brew master became the co-owner when the winery left the beer business in 2003. It was then moved this location in 2004, opening as a brewpub. It's been on my list of places to visit for a while, so my wife, her mom, and I took the opportunity to stop in for a Thursday night dinner on our way to San Francisco from Fort Bragg. The inaugural double IPA (aka Imperial IPA) was made by the current co-owner at a different brewery in 1994. Double means it uses double the hops and malts, and the ABV is quite a bit higher. He then created Pliny the Elder (ABV 8.0%) in 2000, recognized as the most famous DIPA. The track continued, with Pliny the Younger in 2005, a triple IPA (using triple the hops and malts with ABV of 10.25%). This version is available once a year in the spring, since it costs so much money and time to make. With so much malt being used, a large amount of time (and hops) is needed to balance. I've had Pliny the Elder in bottles before, and really liked it: I don't like the hoppy 'piney' taste in my beers, but also recognize that not enough will make the beer too sweet (which I've been facing with a lot my island beers lately). Parking is street only, but there was a lot of it, with the metered parking only requiring payment till 6 pm. We were greeted warmly by the hostess and immediately seated at a table near the bar. As expected, it was quite loud, with after work folks having a good time. We got menus, ordered our food, and then decided what to do about flights. The brewery is also known for their Belgian style and thus offers two different flights. It was my first time, and didn't know how much my wife could help, so decided to order the California Sampler (a selection of 12 different West Coast 5 oz. pours of ales and lagers for $15.45) to start: O.V.L. Stout (Old Vic Loyals) - Irish nitro stout - really beginning to love stouts, and this one was good. Velvet Glow - lager - solid. Ending up buying 6 pack to bring home ($12.99) STS Pils - pilsner. Bought a 6-pack for $12.99. Russian River Porter - Blind Pig IPA - West Coast IPA Happy Hops - Juicy IPA Mosaic Stack - West Coast IPA SimCoe 25 - West Coast IPA Citra Flash Mob - West Coast IPA Mind Circus - Hazy IPA DDH Pliny the Elder - really good. bought two cans at $5.99 each. Pliny the Elder - the original Felt pretty good, so decided to order the Belgian Sampler (9 different for $13.63), Surprisingly, I didn't like it nearly as much (my favorite fruit beer during this trip was the Howzit Punch beer). Petite Robert - table beer Little White Lie - Belgian White Robert - saison Perdition - biere de sonoma Damnation - golden strong ale Mortification - quad Supplication - sour brown ale Intinction - barrel aged pilsner Consecration - sour dark ale In terms of the food, it was solid. The 8 pc chicken wings ($17) were good, and the cheesy garlic bread ($10) was filling. I had the meatball sandwich ($16) and upgraded the fries to a spinach salad (+$4): it was tasty, loved the toasted French bread and marinara sauce, with the meatballs being OK (tasted from frozen)...loved the spinach salad with strawberries and blue cheese. We finished off our meal with a Vinnies (co-owner) sundae: good vanilla ice cream with whipped cream, chocolate sauce, and a lot of almond slivers. Payment was at the table, and me being again very pleasantly surprised at how little the flights were (a typical brewpub where they charge $3-$4 per 5 oz, would have cost 4 times as much...though of course I wouldn't have drunk as much either).

The wings were pretty good with a sweet chili ginger sauce. We also tried their dry-rubbed wings, which were just okay. The nachos had good flavor, but some of the chips got kind of burnt in the broiler. The tri-tip was also a little underwhelming as it was just a bunch of small pieces that didn't have a lot of flavor.
