Friendly service and the Irish nachos were so cheesy and delicious! The Shepard's Pie was flavorful and came with a huge portion of broccoli on the side. We sat in the patio that has a bar and a fireplace with seating around the fire with a number of tables and chairs placed throughout the patio. We sat at the bar and ordered a beer and lunch. We had the tomato soup and shared the BLT Avocado sandwich. Hadley Jones was our bartender/server and she is so awesome. She was very attentive but not overbearing. The food was spot on. Bar review: Service: 1/5 We went in early enough (around 7/8pm) to where there wasn't much of a crowd. Yet it still seemed almost impossible to get service, multiple other patrons were complaining of this. The bar tender Pete seemed to be too busy spinning bottles to attend to customers. When we received our bill, there was no breakdown, and it was double the amount of what we expected. The female bar tender finally gave us the breakdown and it was the wrong tab, and she was rude and had a very dismissive attitude about it. Service could definitely use some work. I went to Hennessey's in Dana Point recently. I ordered a mushroom burger and onion rings for an appetizer. $32.32 (with tax) for both. The mushroom burger was $20! That's rediculous! The onion rings were cold as the waitress waited for the rest of the order to be finished before bringing out the appetizer. I had to ask to have my water refilled. The place was not busy. The service was average and the cost of the food too high. Nothing special about this place. read more

Our server was my favorite server ever! i wish I got his name but he was super funny & absolutely amazing. He was born on the Pisces / Aries cusp. Funniest guy ever. Great place to hang out in the patio with live music. Check in on Yelp to get a $5 alcoholic drink. We ordered the French Onion soup for $8 and the Burger Slider Combo for $16. It was good. I expect Hennessey's to be crowded on St. Patrick's Day. I did not expect a $10 cover charge to get in the door. I did not expect them running out of Guinness. I wasn't surprised that the food was lousy. My corn beef sandwich came not as ordered as it was missing the sauerkraut on a corn beef Reuben. The corn beef was sliced so thickly I had to eat it with a knife and fork. I could not take a bite out of my sandwich. The servers are wonderful but bartenders make all the money. Started off having a decent night until a 60 year old man sat down and had a very inappropriate conversation with us girls (in our early 20's) and sexual harassed us. we understand this is not the bar's problem but we looked to the bouncer and audible asked for help from him. he smiled and walked away. It's one thing to not notice something like this but to be less the five feet from the situation, make eye contact with someone asking for help, and decide to smile and walk away is crazy. We unfortunately decided it would be safest to leave considering the bouncers at the bar did nothing to ensure we were ok. read more

This is one of the few places that was open very late. My BIL were in search of drinks so stumbled upon this place while walking and searching. Restaurant Reviewer review. I chose this restaurant for an interview place for a server for my restaurant. The service was terrible there was nobody in the restaurant, nobody at the bar except two guys who were laughing away with the two and I didn't get my drink until 25 min later. The gal never checked on our table not once. Food was good, got the Smashburgers but, had to ask as they took all the advertising down for it. I am sure that was done on purpose. Margarita was in a tiny ball glass and charged $13 however the VERY large beer was $7. I don't know what happened to this neighborhood establishment but, it is just not the same. SJC is so much better and I won't be going to this Hennessys any longer. The service is awful and it really needs an overhaul including the restaurant itself. read more

This is the only bar consistently open late but it can get pretty sketchy at times. Someone literally came and attacked the bartender here with a box cutter and sliced his throat a few months ago. He was fine but apparently police never found the guy. Security could probably up their game but if you're desperate this is the only bar open late everyday in the area. Great music on Sunday afternoon starts at 4 pm rode my bike here with a few friends and was my first time so was not expecting much during the Covid times but it was like Covid didn't exist in a good way ... great group of peeps and fun outside venue with great music good food and nice atmosphere. Landed here on a Thursday night to check out what I heard was their most popular weeknight, Thursdays for karaoke. The KJ, Rashad is known locally in our hometown of Tustin, so we knew he would come correct this Thursday. Only -1 star comes from their lack of tequila selection, the bartender was well aware of it so I hope they fix it soon. I enjoyed a crazy amazing Smash Burger that's only $6 on Thursdays too. This spot is a hit and I can't wait to come back next Thursday for more karaoke and another crazy amazing Smash Burger. When you guys expand your tequila selection, will you please include Teremana? Great burgers! And they have nice portions. They also have a breakfast menu. Specials on Wednesdays for 2 for 1 burgers special. They also have live music at night. Feels like your traditional local pub with great food and drinks. It's casual, comfortable and easy going. The wait staff are also really friendly and helpful. They have typical Irish Pub decor . This place is racist. As an Irish person, I find it highly ironic to be turned down at the bar for having Irish ID as the bar only accepts state ID (not any state just this state). Why fly the Irish flag when you do not want Irish people in the bar?! Ridiculous. Leave this place to locals only and hopefully they remove the Irish flag as having an American with zero connections to Ireland say no is a slap in the face. For context, I'm sure Americans coming to Ireland, or any other country, seeing the American flag at a bar they would assume to be welcomed and not refused entry. For clarity, they had no issues with age and mentioned they were happy we were sober it was solely because we were Irish and wasn't a local. The reason I started to visit this location is due to Thursday karaoke night. Rashad sets a fantastic night for all karaoke aficionados. He's the best! The ladies that tend here are super friendly and accommodating. Always a great crowd. Awesome regulars and non regulars. I have tried their burgers and on Thursday they have a good deal on them. The outside bar is where it's at! My friend and I have been coming here every Sunday since February 2022. Heidi was our bar tender the first night which was the main reason we kept coming back every Sunday after that. She has a heart of gold and she's a bar tender sent from heaven! Heidi would even go the extra mile and bring fruit concentrates from home to make us new and unique drinks! Hands down makes THE BEST DRINKS! Pete was the other AMAZING bar tender who would almost always be working beside Heidi. He would always keep an eye on us making sure we were staying safe. Forever grateful for both Heidi and Pete for making our Sundays unforgettable! Nothing about my experience service wise was bad, I had a very nice waiter serve me and the bartenders were attentive. The food was also very good as I love getting the smashburger but I usually go to another location and just wanted to try this place. The thing that I had an issue with was the attitude of one of the waitresses with dark hair and the energy she drug around with her the entire night. My waiter asked if I wanted to move inside because I looked cold and told me to pick anywhere I'd like to sit so I chose a booth as I was working on some writing. The waitress and her friends sitting at the booth near the one I chose blatantly glared at me in a very unwelcoming way and I caught them turning around to glare at me more as I sat down, minding my own business. She then says in a negative tone to her coworker "that's my section" okay and? So he politely told her the situation and continued to serve me, which I was happy about because as a customer I don't want someone like her with her attitude helping me because clearly she wouldn't be happy to do it. I use to work service so I know how these things go. Her and her friends eventually moved which I was happy about because they genuinely made me feel uncomfortable as if I wasn't welcomed to sit where I'd like. At the end of the night, she was complaining about people still being in the bar and was obviously annoyed and a bit emotionally hostile. If you're going to have that kind of attitude then service is not the job for you or at least being at a bar isn't. Everyone's got their own thing going on, it would be appreciated if employees could leave that at home because I'm trying to enjoy a night out after going through things myself and she ruined it with her negativity, to the point where I am honestly over this whole bar scene in general and the people who dwell in these watering holes. read more

MY first time coming here since I work at a local restaurant nearby and wanted to go with my husband. All I can say is DONT GO THERE. The restaurant absolutely REEKS of some stale awful smell. The music from the kitchen is far LOUDER than any other music you will hear and you will hear several different other kinds of music (next doors' as well). We ordered a couple of the appetizers which were ok, my drink I ordered never came. The server did not "KNOW' what bourbon was. No refills, no checking back on us. NOTHING. This restaurant was so dirty and so badly needing a thorough cleaning/painting/renovation. . It might have been a great place in the 1980s or so when it was in its best days. On a Friday afternoon, around 6pm, there were only THREE 2-top tables in the entire restaurant. THREE. What does that tell you? We got OUT of there and went up the street to Crafthouse who KNOWS how to treat customers. read more
