I was so happy when she let me know she was back so I could get my hair cut after 6 long months. I also needed a Keratin treatment because my hair is curly and thick. I have waited a more than a month after my wedding to write this review in order to cool down a bit.Karolin and Seda, I trusted you on the most important day of my life and now I regret it every single day. So here it goes... Short Version: They made me looked like an over-bronzed orange clown at my wedding, and guess what? They probably won't care and they can't do anything to fix it now. Long Version: We arrived at 5:30am and my bridesmaids all arrived at 5am. I sat there for a good 30 minutes before anything was done to my hair, not a problem... I can wait. They kept asking if we wanted coffee and standing around. Mind you they could have started on my mother's makeup while she waited for her hair. My mom ended up going HOME without her makeup done because of their lack of structure. They had PROMISED we would be done by 9 to 9:30 latest, and instead I was there until 10:20 ten minutes before the groom was supposed to arrive! THE UGLY: My clown makeup was ridiculous, they had lied to my mom and said they would use special makeup for brides so it does not move. Karolin used the same sponge she used on my maid of honor who is much darker than me. I thought "Hey, not a big deal, this is her job, she won't make me look bad." When I was complete and looked in the mirror I even asked "Don't you think this is too dark?". She assured me "No, this is better for the camera." I am not into makeup and could not even begin to tell you. So now this- I am stuck with orange face clown pictures for my wedding. My husband and I do not have ONE good picture together. I have to apparently cry ever time I look back at my pictures while others get to relive and enjoy this day. Do yourself a favor and Stay away. read more

Seda has done my hair for three different occasions. The first time I went to her was 7 years ago, and I loved her work, but the last two times she did not do what I asked her to do. As I went through all the reviews I noticed that she got good reviews in the past, but in recent years her reviews have gone done. I will never return to this salon again. She is extremely expensive and she does not deliver what you ask for, and she is never honest about her prices. I paid $185 for my hair style and all she did was to put 70 pins in my head, a plastic sponge and tons of hair spray. I hope this will help others to make better choices. read more

This review is for "Melo" aka "Melo's Touch" who works out of this salon. The reason I'm giving this hairstylist (who is also a makeup artist) one star instead of zero stars is because I actually liked her Instagram pictures of some of her updos. However, she was utterly tactless with me over the phone when I attempted to schedule an appointment for my mother in law to get her hair and makeup done as a trial before our wedding day. She was pretty much outraged saying "I'm an artist, what I do is art!! You will never achieve the same look twice..." So I gently explained to her that I still wanted to do this so that my mother in law could atleast have experience with the process as she's never gotten her makeup or hair done by another person. Long story short, her rash tactlessness just continued over the phone and she kept asking about how many people I'd be booking for the actual wedding day. My response? 0 people :-) You see you can be an average stylist but a pleasant attitude will keep your customer grateful and happy... But even a truly talented stylist will develop a crappy reputation if their attitude stinks for miles. It's really a shame that I even took my time to call her up. read more

Avoid Arsineh Ghazarian she did my hair for my wedding in July of 2011 and it was horrible I had to call another hair stylist the day of the wedding to fix what she did wrong.. Save ur money and go elsewhere! The hairstyle was done so poorly that the back portion that was supposed to be pinned came loose during the wedding. I mean it was such a disaster, she strikes me as someone who picks and chooses customers whom she wants to do a good job on ( those who pay her more money) and those who pay her the standard $300 for a bridal hairdo. I even had her dye my hair a week before my wedding and she got dye all over my forehead and my shirt so I had to throw away my blouse. I really felt like she was being forced to work on me which as a bride is very frustrating. I didn't even pick our a difficult hair style, I picked one she did on another bride so I know she was capable of doing it. Never again will I ever return. It just breaks my heart because this was my wedding day and i paid her a ridiculous amount of money and in the end the hairstyle she did was probably one of the worst I have ever had. She made all these big promises at the consultation and she didn't deliver on any of them. If you want to be ripped off and taken advantage off then this place is perfect for you. read more

I went to FAME for my cousin's wedding in late August (I was a bridesmaid). We made reservations 5 months in advance. Amy did my makeup and Seda did my hair. These two women are absolutely INCREDIBLE at what they do. My hair and makeup stayed on perfect for more than 16 hours (10am that day to 2am the next day). I still can't believe how long my makeup and hair lasted after all the crazy dancing, sweating and moving around. If you're looking for quality work they can't be beat but you get what you pay for. I read some of the bad reviews but if you get Amy and Seda, they are seasoned professionals. I can't imagine going to anyone else for future events. The only reason I gave it 4 stars is because it took a little bit longer than expected - we ended up staying 2 hours longer than planned which made us late to the pre-wedding party... but I get that things like that happens. Came to Fame's on my wedding day with my mom, mom-in-law, maid of honor and 3 bridesmaids. Every single one of us were treated like queens and walked out looking breathtakingly good. We all got out of the salon by 1030 am, right on time. Our hair and makeup was excellent. The stylists were very professional and experienced. Seda did my hair, Katherine did maid-of-honor and mother-of-bride hair. Melineh did my mother-of-groom hair. My hair stayed curled the whole day and all through the night. Karolin did my bridal makeup and it lasted for 16 hours. They delegated tasks very efficiently so we could all be ready together and on time! I was lucky enough to have had my first professional hair and makeup done at Fame's. As a bridesmaid I wanted nothing short of perfect to compliment the bride and that's exactly what I got. Anais did my hair and within looking at the one photo I showed her, she not only created the hairstyle I wanted but suggested a slight modification which was even better than what I had envisioned. She was efficient and professional. Amy did my makeup and I was equally satisfied with her work. As someone who does not wear a lot of makeup, she gave me the most amazing cat eye & double lashes and yet I still looked like myself, just more glam. Amy was confident and made me feel comfortable by consulting with me each step of the way. This review isn't about the salon but about a make up artist who works there. I had Amy Seyfi do my make up for my wedding. I finally got my wedding album done and got to see how amazing my make up looked that day and remembered to write this review. Anyone who goes through my album always compliments my make up. It was flawless. I mean I was super picky that day. I remember asking her to put on light make up because I hate it when brides come out looking like the Bride of Frankenstein. You know, super pale foundation and super black smoky eyes? What is that? I mean if that's your thing I'm sure Amy can do that too, but I don't want to go to a cookie cutter make up artist who only has one trick up their sleeve. Anyway I got exactly what I asked for. I remember not wanting to put on fake eyelashes and Amy talked me into putting some just on the corners and I was so happy I listened to her. It really did make a big difference. She took her time, didn't rush. Asked a bunch of questions to know exactly what I wanted but also made a few suggestions too. I felt so comfortable on such a nerve wrecking day. I danced all night. I got my hair and makeup done here for my wedding on May, 2013. Seda did a fabulous job with the hair, and Amy did my makeup. My hair looked amazing!!! Everyone thought so, not just me. I showed her a picture of what I wanted and she was able to fix my hair perfectly - it lasted all night and did not feel heavy. My makeup was also great. I don't wear a lot of makeup and was scared that the makeup would look heavy and overdone but this was not the case at all. She put fake eyelashes on me but they looked very natural and real. Again, the makeup lasted all day and I could not be happier with the results. The girls at the salon made me really feel like the bride on my wedding day... offered me coffee, I did not have to wait, everything was just perfect. I would (and have) recommended this salon to my friends and family - they are currently remodeling but the place looks nice, clean, orderly, and all the staff are super nice and helpful. read more

They do not want to give me an honest answer on how much a blow dry will cost; they tried charging me $110 for a simple blowdry; and they kept hanging the phone up when I was politely asking them for help with my appointment since I'm not from California. Tried this salon out twice and unhappy both times. I really don't get what the big hype is. When you ask for a simple curled hair style, and the stylist can't deliver on both occasions, That is pretty sad. My teased poof was uneven. I felt like my extensions were showing. They charge an arm and a leg for mediocre work. My hair looked like crap 5 minutes after I walked out of the salon Basically got ripped the eff off both times around for hair and makeup I could have done at home. This was my second time getting my hair cut by Amy and I am so impressed! I have very curly hair that can be difficult to cut correctly, but Amy cut the exact right amount to give my hair beautiful layers and the perfect shape. I can't believe how much better it suits my face even though a lot of hair wasn't cut off! Also the cost is very reasonable...it's less expensive than all other salons I've gone to in the past (most of which left me disappointed anyway). Very friendly environement, very welcoming, not once have i ever told the hairstylst how to style my hair. She has her own creativity, and they all do.
