Excellent hidden gem, plate size was oversized. I had the orzo w/blackened chicken. It was a special, I guess I misunderstood I thought it was blackened chicken w/orzo. It was delicious however only small amount of chicken. I would have preferred more of the protein and less pasta. It was however exceptionally good. Loved that we were able to get in on a Saturday evening around 6 without having to wait. Big problem in Wilmington unless you have reservations at a lot of restaurants you can't get in at normal dinner hours. Henrys used to be better. They had the best shrimp and grits in town in the cake form with creamy sauce and tasty shrimp on top. No longer. Now they are runny grits with oil on top and shrimp are few and rubbery. Sad and disappointing to say the least. My friend ordered a side of grits for four dollars with his breakfast and the portion was around half a cup. No cheese, undercooked and room temperature as was the rest of the meal. The salad was out of a bag and was not cold either. One tomato and no onions. The new owners need to up their game. Bring back the cake grits and serve hot food and cold salad- that would be a great start! read more

Tuesday night. Not a crowd at all. Seated immediately. Waitress arrived within 3-4 minutes. Sweet and polite. Ordered French onion soup that was very good. Had the shrimp/spinach salad. Salad really good shrimp seemed overloaded with spices. Like old bay crusted shrimp. Ate 3 of the 5 shrimp. Had the Parmesan crusted chicken for main course and it was ok. I know what a butter sauce is but it just seemed overwhelming. I ate 1 of 2. Granted I was starving as I hadn't eaten all day so I probably ordered too much food. All in all the service was excellent and left her over a 20% tip but the meal was just ok nothing over the moon or excitable about it. I have came here a couple times and have been happy each time. I think I give them 5 stars mostly for their wonderful customer service. Our waitresses have been attentive, friendly, engaging, smiling, and when we had an issue with our meal they took care of it right away. Our meal was wrong and they took care of it, the manager came to apologize, they fixed it all, took care of us and we had a great time overall. I've had a chicken burger and a steak salad. The steak salad is very plentiful! The steak for this salad is AMAZING! It's tasteful and quite filling. The presentation is great too. There's bread that comes before the meal as well, come with an appetite. The lighting is a little dark. They had live music in the bar that I had seen when we were leaving but didn't hear it all when in the restaurant. read more

I ate lunch at Henry's today, ordering their Mac and cheese stuffed meatloaf sandwich at our waitress' excited suggestion. As a result, this review is purely about this sandwich. Nothing else matters. Someone should hand that waitress a million dollars, minimum, and affirm her for speaking such deep and beautiful truth into the world. I should have bought two. This sandwich was a gift from God, a delicious explosion of comfort, a surrender to culinary hope and wonder. I wanted to hug all of the kitchen staff, even those who didn't make the sandwich, because they're all doing important work. If everyone ate one of these, the world would be a much happier, more content place. Go. Drop whatever you're doing. Shut off the rational part of your mind that worries about carbohydrate consumption and give in to the succulent invitation of a meatloaf sandwich made with freaking mac and cheese. This is a true farm to table restaurant. The restaurant is clean and fresh - comfortable and quiet enough to support table conversation. The staff is friendly and attentive. Skip the coleslaw because there is too much mayonnaise dressing. The slaw was just swimming in the dressing. The burger was okay, should have been bigger for that high price. My husband and I just got take out From Henry's. We have eaten at Henrys many times and I always get a Salmon salad cause it is so good. I even convinced my husband to get it tonight for our Valentines meal. Totally disappointed!! The salmon on both plates was raw! We had to cook it in the microwave. To add to that there is usually squash, goat cheese and some pecans on the salad. There was no pecans, no goat cheese and maybe two squash pieces on each. The lettuce on my salad was bitter and I couldn't eat it. SO disappointed!! When you pay $40 for two salads one expects them to be good. It will be a while before we eat at Henry's again. read more

So disappointing!!! Options on brunch menu were limited. Two at our table ordered the rib eye and twice stuffed potato. The potato was less than cut in half and the unseasoned steak was tough and full of gristle ! This was obviously a very cheap cut of meat. The menu did not state you would only receive a piece of baked potato and no other vegetable side was offered. For this they charged thirty six dollars. My girlfriend and I met here for dinner. We are in our 50s. It was half-price wine night, Wednesday, which was great because we had a lovely Argentinian Malbec. The bread was just so so--not impressive, whatsoever. I wanted real butter, but it didn't taste like high-quality butter. For our main courses, we both got the scallops, which were amazing. We substituted the orzo for spinach and roasted squashes. The spinach tasted like pure salt. The roasted squashes were wilted and lifeless from so much oil. A manager came by our table to ask how everything was. We informed her that service was awesome with Nancy, but that the spinach was much too salty and the squash was much too oily. I've eaten at restaurants around the world and, although not extravagant or filled with filly shu-shu, this was one of the best. The food was presented exquisitely and was perfectly cooked - the rare hanger steak was rare, juicy, tender and delicious - same with the salmon salad and calamari. Went here for a co-worker's farewell lunch last week. I haven't been here since my shift to a pescatarian/flexitarian diet. I used to always get the steak sandwich (which is great, btw), but opted for the salmon salad this time. It was very good. The salmon was grilled nicely. You can also get the salmon blackened or bronzed (which is blackened on one side only - I learned that!). The veggies in the salad were nice and fresh and crispy and the sautéed vegetables and added feta and walnuts, with the dressing all went together so well. It was also a pretty large portion, I sometimes worry about that when ordering a salad as my main dish but it was more than enough. We also ordered a couple of strawberry shortcakes to share around the table and they were delicious, they used biscuits! Henry's is definitely one of our local favorites. It's one of the best eateries in this section of town. It's a wee bit corporate without being chain-y. The often locally sourced food, and chef created dishes are way above average for the Port City while still being accessible and affordable for the casual diner outer. Meatloaf and Pot Roast are recommended for carnivores. Last outing I had the Seared Ahi Salad and the missus went with Pan Seared Scallops, both enjoyable, though the Scallops could have used a little brightness (Note to CHEF: Scallops beg for lemon, really just listen to your fish!) We returned today and had the salmon salad and steak the food was not as good I want to say. But we just wanted some more of that banana pudding. We ordered some and it was not what we had last week.
