We were looking for a decent steak, but didn't find it here. House hunting in the area and saw this restaurant on Google Maps. Arrived at 12:00 on a Saturday to a nearly empty place. No one was at the front station but we finally saw a waiter who I guess was the host as well. We sat near the only other people eating here. The place looks decent enough, but the loud music reminded me of an Applebees for steaks. Steaks were pricey, but lower than some other places. I ordered the Prime NY strip and my partner the ribeye. Both were cooked well, but very thin and VERY tough. The baked potatoes were spoiled in places and my side salad was just cheap and plain. We tried and were hoping for a decent meal but $70 later were sadly disappointed. We told the waiter how tough the steaks were and he said he would mention to the cooks. We took most of both steaks home for the dog. Lesson learned. read more

It took about 15 minutes to get a server's attention, which was a bit frustrating--especially since a few tables seated after us were helped before we were. It was a busy night, but the service felt a little unorganized at first. That said, once we were finally attended to, the experience improved. Disappointing visit to Christopher's in Leland tonight. Server was pleasant enough, but she forgot our appetizer, forgot my baked sweet potato and forgot my blue cheese crumbles for my steak. We reminded her about the appetizer and the sweet potato, but by the time I realized I didn't have blue cheese crumbles for my steak I didn't feel like reminding her again. I wish I could say it was swamped, but it wasn't. Server admitted she forgot to write down the appetizer order. Not sure how she missed the baked, sweet potato and the blue cheese crumbles as they were written on the receipt. Even if the kitchen screwed up she should have checked the order before she brought it out l. No offer of another glass of wine, a dessert, or to take the extra charge for my vegetables off the bill for compensation. Oh well. Not sure we will be back. Too bad because the food is pretty good and it is close. Service is definitly lacking. Have eaten here several times. The first time, 3 years ago, it was "okay." Since then, we've enjoyed the steaks, burgers and most recently, the shrimp and grits. OMG! the shrimp and grits are amazingly delicious. Seven large shrimp in a creamy, old bay seasoning with chunky bacon. Yum!! I've had the filet mignon too. The first time, it was too cooked for me, but they swapped it out for a perfectly cooked steak (rare). Always good service by the waiters. This is a nice local place in Leland. read more

The steak was too thin to get color on it and not overcook it. I've been here twice and haven't had a good experience yet. Two beers and a steak was $53 for just myself. He was very accommodating, super fast to bring everything we needed, kept our drinks full, made sure we knew that extra items would be extra on the price. The restaurant was clean and had a country, Santa Fe, Mexican restaurant vibe. Ok, now the food. I know... Who goes to a steakhouse and orders chicken? Well, I did. I wasn't in the mood for steak and the family picked this place. I wasn't thinking about photos till about halfway through and everyone had already started eating. So Sorry, only one photo. The waiter asked if we wanted $.75 rolls and we were thinking of course we want rolls, but why are they charging extra?? We also ordered Fried pickles as an appetizer. The rolls and pickles were good but just average and no real butter... just packaged honey. I ordered the BBQ Bacon & Cheddar Chicken meal with a side salad and mashed potatoes. Potatoes were not like mama makes 'em... lol no butter?? The others complained about a lack of seasoning on their meals as well. For the price I'll travel into Wilmington and go to Texas Roadhouse. After a long drive from Cameron, NC, we stopped at this restaurant expecting excellent service. They sat us at a large booth and never came to serve us. We waited over 15 minutes, and not even water was offered. The booth next to us, which was empty when we arrived, was being served a salad as we still waited for water. We stood up, left, and found a much better restaurant in Wilmington. Circa 1922. 100% better. Highly recommend Circa 1922. The food was good and the waiter was ok. But... as soon as we paid the check, our waiter came to the table and interrupted our conversation. He said, " I'm sorry but my manager said that you need to vacate the table, because there's another party waiting." We were a party of four adults who had just finished our meal. We were Not loud or making any trouble. We don't drink so we were not drunk. There was two other booths in the area that were vacant. I guess that, the party was asking for a table. My husband asked for the manager to come to the table. The manager never came. So my husband went back to the area where the wait staff was standing. He asked once again to speak to the manager. A door opened and the manager told him to come in. My husband told him that he apparently didn't want the other customers to hear what he had to say. He told the manager that he had Never been asked to vacate a table in a restaurant and he was very disappointed with the situation and how it ruined our time out with our friends. Every time we go to Christopher's, it's consistently amazing. Never have had a bad meal or experience. Lunch or dinner, the food is always spot on. Tonight our server, Daniel, was absolutely amazing!! It seemed like he had prior experience in a fine dining. I don't think I've ever had a server who knocked it out the park like he did, even at a Ruth Chris or any other steakhouse I've been to in Charlotte, NC. The restaurant is always clean, staff is friendly. The food is top tier and I've never had anything over cooked. The food is fresh and delicious. Can't say enough good things about this restaurant. It's a usual on our "eating out" rotation. I don't think the prices were bad for what you're getting, it's reasonable for the amazing food you'll be eating!! read more

I'm staying at the Hilton, which is just a few steps away from this restaurant. If you are staying there, don't look further for a really good restaurant. I had the shrimp and grits, which were excellent. A good portion of good sized shrimp with just the right amount of andouille sausage, mushrooms, tomatoes and other spices. I typically eat shrimp and grits if it is on the menu and this one was very good. The portion was huge and the price was right and it included a nice side salad that wasn't your typical iceberg lettuce mix. The restaurant is comfortable and the server was a delight. read more

Oh boy, where to begin. Front and back of house has issues. Staff is smelling strawberry purée to make sure it was still good. Drinks took a long time, had to ask for waters. Plates were chipped. Nachos were served with tomatoes and green onions when asked not to. Pork ribs appeared to be old (smelled rancid) and covered in sauce to mask the smell. Staff has good intentions, but it's not working. When staff says "thank you for putting up with us" that's an eye opener. Out of state and hoping for a good meal with my family, instead, they are worried that they are going to get sick. And as my 9 year old pointed out, no one at the door to say thank you, see you again, or anything, which he thought was rude. read more

This place was an absolute joke. I'd say there's a good reason why it was hardly busy in a Friday night. My husband and I are vacationing in the area for our anniversary and decided to come here for dinner. I was excited for the bread, but wow was it a letdown. They look fluffy, but it's just air inside. I saw reviews mentioning homemade butter, but we got packaged honey butter. I ordered the NY strip. Online their menu says it's $20.99, but you buy sides separately. Once we got there, the menu stated its actually $30.99, but includes two sides (considering sides are $2.99, that's quite the up charge). This place wants to charge Jeff Ruby prices, yet give you Texas Roadhouse quality. I've never felt the need to ask for salt or A1 for a $30 steak, yet here we are. My mashed potatoes were most definitely instant, and not even the kind that leaves you wondering if they could have been real. Mac & cheese was also terrible. They consider this a side which needs an up charge. Not sure why as they're as unflavorful as the mashed potatoes. Service was also a mess. Had to ask twice for silverware, and the guy brings the two of us 6 sets of plastic silverware (everyone else had the real thing, so that was weird). We had no idea who our waitress actually was, as there were three people stopping by, yet I still somehow went unnoticed on needing a refill. When I ordered my steak I asked for medium well, and what I got was medium at best. My husband ordered the Mahi Mahi with fries and a side salad. The salad was very sad. A small bowl of iceberg with three little tomato pieces, a couple croutons, and cheese. He did say his fish was alright. Seasoned okay, and the fries were decent. When I leave reviews I try to look on the positive side, but this place was just bad. Overpriced and under seasoned. Two thumbs down. read more

The entire restaurant needs a deep clean, with sticky floors, napkins under booth tables, and less than stellar bathrooms. We waited awhile for our cocktails but my pineapple kiwi martini didn't taste any better than a green machine juice drink. Our salads were forgotten and we received them after our meal was delivered. My salmon was undercooked, the fries and calamari was cold. We didn't get plates for the calamari and my husband wasn't offered his choice of steak sauce. With salads, we needed salad forks. Oh, and get rid of the red table toppers - where did you buy them - dollar tree?! The most compelling dish was the macaroni and cheese. For a $115 with tip meal, we won't be back. read more

I previously had a great experience with service and a hamburger. Today was the complete opposite. I was the only person at our long table who's drink order was not taken until I finally was able to flag down another server. I ordered a grilled chicken sandwich with lettuce and tomato, no bun, no onions, and broccoli for the side. What came out was a chicken breast on top of onions, a baked potato, and no lettuce or tomato. I flagged down a server (ours) was nowhere to be found) and explained the issue. She apologized, took the plate back to the kitchen, and returned it with broccoli in place of the potato. Except the chicken breast was STILL on top of onions with no lettuce and tomato to be found. I was so hungry by then that I decided to go ahead and eat what was in front of me. Sigh. The grilled chicken breast was horribly overcooked. It was tough and dry. Tried this Steakhouse last time I was in Wilmington for business. Very nice atmosphere. I ordered the ribeye and scallops with green beans and asparagus. Yes I ordered two greens! I like them. Ordered the steak medium rare. Dinner came out in a timely manner, the steak was over cooked. Medium, I prefer medium rare but it was still juicy. I didn't complain. Steak was seasoned well as was the sides. Ice tea to drink, not to sweet. Perfect. Waiter was very nice. I will try this place again, next time I will send the steak back if it is not cooked the way I ordered it. Overall it is a very nice place to have dinner. read more

The decor is like a Mexican meets country western theme. It was not fancy at all but was nice for a casual dinner. Our server Wilson was phenomenal. He made our meal so enjoyable. When I come back I will ask for him again. The rolls were decent. I would have preferred a homemade butter over packets. The salad that came with the meal was really good. Their lite Italian dressing was really good and their ranch was to die for. I had the chicken caprese with broccoli and I loved it. Perfect size and only $14.00. I had high hopes for Christopher's based on some fabulous reviews, but it was a bit disappointing overall. When I think of a good steak house, I think of places like BLT in D. C. or even Ruth Chris, but Christopher's is a far cry from either of these top notch steak houses. In all fairness, their prices are MUCH lower than most other steakhouses, so take that into consideration. Their most glaring faux pas, and one that is easily remedied, is a lack of presentation. Has no one told the chef people eat with their eyes first and foremost? I've had better presentation of food at outback. We had the rib eye which was cooked well but was probably the thinnest cut of steak we've ever had. Sides were decent but I'm not convinced my green beans were fresh. Service was attentive by a nice young man who while new, was eager to please. Bottom line is when we're in the mood for steak in a casual atmosphere we will return, but it's not the 'Saturday night' kind of place we were expecting, but more like a 'it's a week day and I do not feel like cooking' kind of place. read more
