I bought new honda civic and bumper to bumper from Herb, In warranty , when my car had some problem(show check airbag system) i bring my car to fix this problem.. No one tell me about the cost, ( i thing bumper to bumper are cover it because i didn't do anything with airbag no accident too) But when i come back to pick up the car , service tell me i need to pay 130+ dollers for check(just check!) no one tell me about this cost for check,,, and service tell me for airbag more than 1,400+ dollars!! And bumper to bumper didn't pay.. he said if i don't want to pay buy a new car!!! Another day. I call him back about warranty(i found warranty in insurance policy) but i cannot contact him,, i leave my number to call back more than 2 times,, but no one call back... read more

I traveled 45 minutes to test drive 2 different Honda Accords and I was ready to buy a car that day. They wanted to charge me $1500 for "preparation fees" that did NOT include doc fee, registration fee or any of the fees you would have to pay anyways. They lowered the price of the vehicles to get you into the door then make you pay more on fees and services... Not to mention the car I was going to buy had a scratch and I would have to pay more to fix that. The car online was Certified pre-owned but when I got there, they said it wasn't included in the car. My question is, what are they preparing if they wouldn't repaint over the scratch and i would have to pay an additional $2000 for finalizing "taxes and fees"?? Do not waste your time or the drive. My family and I recently purchased a used vehicle at this location. We worked specifically with Gerson Ruiz and Fred Fox who went out of their way to accommodate the questions of a first time car buyer. They were both informative, patient and attentive throughout the entire process. I would highly recommend them both for sales and service. I bought a CPO car from this dealership. As part of the deal, there was a clear perk of up to two free oil and filter changes in the first year of purchase. This is live on their website even now on various CPO vehicles. I scheduled a service to get my oil and filter change, and I was told that because I did not purchase their warranty (even though I have warranty from Honda themselves), they would not be honouring this. This was not mentioned at all during the sale. Additionally, the service call centre was extremely unabashed about dealing with this situation. I would strongly suggest to get everything in writing from them before purchasing a vehicle with this dealership. read more

We spoke with Sam and my goodness, I'm surprised he has a job in sales. He asked us our names and was very light on small talk. He never even introduced himself - I had to ask for his name. We test drove a Honda Civic and really liked the car. We were ready to buy, but Sam kept disappearing without telling us where he was going. He was gone for so long at one point, that I had one of the managers page him. When he returned with the quote, I asked him about how they determined the trade-in value and pointed out that it was below the Kelly Blue Book price. He sassed me and said, "Sir, Kelly Blue Book doesn't buy the car, we do." He showed us the prices and seemed incredibly unwilling to negotiate. He had us at a selling point and just lost the sale because of how rude he was. Go with another salesman if you come here, but avoid Sam. read more

I was close to buying a used one but then they lost me salesperson asked for a 5star review and they he would pay me for it. i got up in left. Pay me for a fake review? I apologize for my 5 star review of 12/19/2019. Explanation: it took them two tries to fix an emission problem and then they left gobs of adhesive on the hood when they attached a hood visor (surely customers like removing this with solvent?) so I gave them 1 star. But the customer service/pr person was so apologetic that I switched that review to 5 stars. Now we're back to the truth: What happened to this place? I took a Fit to their Comm Ave location for 6 or 7 years and that service dept was fine. Then to move to Morrissey. OMG. You call to make a service appt. On hold. Finally leave number for them to call back. Nothing. Next day you call. Now you have the appt. After the routine maintenance work is done does anyone call you to tell you car is ready? Now, why would they do that? You get to call and first time the person can't tell you because you don't know name of your service adviser. A second call. (By now I've listened to Herb for many minutes while I've been on hold-- why I feel comfortable using his first name.) Finally the car is home. Done. Done? Don't kid yourself. The tire light goes on and you wonder, "a leak? flat?." But no. After tires are rotated the tpms system should be recalibrated but did Herb's people do that? No. Let the customer who spent over 700.00 go to a gas station, look up the procedure on Youtube and do it himself. One plus for this otherwise rude, unhelpful outfit: there is a service man at the third desk who was really helpful in getting me a Lyft ride to the JFK stop. Listen up, Herb: Make this man you service manager. He's the only person I've encountered there who cares about the customer. Adios. It's Honda Village or Cambridge Honda for me. read more

If I could give zero stars, I would. This place has customer service that is so terrible I'm surprised they haven't been shut down yet. Their business practices are SHADY SHADY SHADY. Let me tell you what happened to us... My partner and I wanted to buy a second hand car so naturally we head to this Honda dealer because of course Honda cars are always a good choice. Here's all the strikes against this reprehensible dealership: 1. My boyfriend calls them ahead of time to tell them which cars he wants to test drive. They agree and give him a date and time to come. He shows up there and they say oh sorry we don't have those cars for you, in fact we don't have any cars for you to test drive so... UM WHAT. Ok so you made him come all the way out here to just... chat? 2. Return there again and decide on a car. The salesman is Keith. Wanted to pay using a credit card and omg they flipped. God forbid someone doesn't wanna finance their freaking car. After much arguing managed to pay a part of it as a deposit and said we'll do a bank transfer for the rest. They were VERY unhappy but agreed. Signed the paperwork so the car is OURS. 3. Monday- Wire over the money. Call the bank to confirm that the payment had gone through. Keep in mind that it's Monday evening. Call to ask if we can pick up the car, they say no try again tomorrow. 4. Tuesday- call again and again, Keith doesn't respond. He just ignored our calls. Keep in mind we've signed the paperwork AND paid for the whole damn thing. Eventually we call the dealership directly and the secretary says to come in. So my partner goes in and our car salesman Keith isn't there. We complain to the management and he says ok don't worry tomorrow for sure we'll get you your car. 5. Wednesday- this is the real kicker. Keith our salesman calls us and is PISSED. It was so unprofessional I honestly can't believe it happened. He is mad that we "went behind his back" and he was so rude and disrespectful. It was shocking. He said "you got me in trouble, I have a family to feed, don't you know?" Btw this is AFTER Keith IGNORED OUR CALLS ALL OF TUESDAY which FORCED us to try to speak with someone else. Anyway HE STILL WOULDN'T GIVE US THE CAR! The car that we had already paid for!!!! I mean Keith had already got his commission since we had paid for the car and yet he decided the best use of his time was to call and yell at clients!?! What kind of a place is this!? 6. Thursday- at this point we're livid. Keith won't respond as usual and then finally says at 5:30pm that we have to pick up the car today before 6pm or we won't get it till Monday. Are you kidding me!? Some of us have jobs Keith. We argue and he says ok fine come in later in the evening. My partner finally goes in and gets the car. Keith completely ignored him, didn't even say hi, and basically acted like a petulant child. This is a grown man working in the service industry. Like what!? Take my advice people, stay away from this dealership if you can. Yeah the prices are good but the people are.... just unethical. Definitely going to report them to whatever bureau looks into unethical business practices. I mean they basically kept our car from us after signing it over to us and making us pay. Speaking only of the service department here. Their prices are astronomical. I went there one night in a complete bind because I had a headlight out and had to have it fixed asap, as I'd be travelling the next night and didn't want to get pulled over. It was difficult to get this appointment. I was told initially that they would not be able to get me in at 5:30 after work( 5:15 cut off point) even though they were open for another hour and a half afterward. After pressing them, knowing that a bulb change is super quick, they finally relented and gave me the 530 appointment. In total, it cost 50 bucks for the bulb and installation. Highway robbery, I know. Had i had another option, I would've taken it. Fast forward a couple of months when my car goes back there to have the airbag replaced due to a recall. Shortly thereafter, I got a phone call from the service department telling me that one of my rear brake calipers is completely ceased up, and the wheel won't even turn ( interesting, considering I drove the car there) and that the caliper, pads and rotors will need to be replaced, along with a brake fluid exchange and cabin and engine air filters. They quoted me almost 1800 bucks. I told them no. I bought the filters myself, replaced them, and then took my car to a garage in Milton. There, I was told that my calipers were fine, and that brake fluid exchange was unnecessary. I paid about 400 bucks for pads and rotors on the rear. If money is just an object to you, then herb chambers Honda may be your kind of place. I dont trust them, and will never do business there again. read more

Absolute jerks! I came in with my boyfriend and I did the majority of the talking because I was the one buying the car and I did all the research. I tried negotiating and Jay treated me with such disrespect because I'm a woman. He spoke to me as if I had no idea what I was talking about, explaining things to me that I already knew about, and shot down every deal I tried to negotiate. He thought he could get me to pay $3000 over MSRP. I had none of that crap and we walked right out. He even sent me an email afterwards apologizing for being a jerk! He knew he was a jerk and a to lo thought he could make a sale? Hard pass. Take your business to Prime Honda instead. They actually know how to treat women with respect there. read more

Let me start by saying that my wife and I never write negative reviews. We have both worked customer service and sales jobs, and understand how hard it is to deliver a good experience. I also want to say that we are not car buying novices -- we've had a few Hondas over the years, and have generally had good experiences purchasing from other Honda dealers. But this sales experience with Herb Chambers in Boston was so incredibly unprofessional, I feel obliged to write a review in the hopes that, if you're reading this, you will take your business elsewhere. I could write a novel about the saga that started in April, but here's the brief summary: 1. We went into Herb Chambers in April to return our leased car, and purchase a new car. Our sales person, Sean, was very friendly but clearly new to the job. He showed us the new HRV that we wanted, and all was pretty much ok. 2. The first trouble started when his manager, Andrew, said that they would "take care" of the last couple of months of our lease if we bought a car with them today. We agreed, but we later discovered that Andrew's definition of "taking care" of a lease was adding a few hundred dollars to the payment plan, and not telling us. After much back and forth, they agreed to reimburse us. 3. We were told that we'd be able to pick up the car in a week, but apparently they sold us a car that didn't exist (car was being built in Mexico still). Not entirely their fault, but we had to go back in to resign all the papers, and still wait a couple of weeks for the car. 4. From what happened above, I wouldn't have written a bad review. Sure, it took a month to get the car and the "taking care" of a payment line was bad, but hey, we all make mistakes in sales. Here is what really got me...: 5. We got our car nearly three months ago, but Herb Chambers failed to report that we returned our lease in a fair amount of time. Because of that, we've been on the phone with Honda Financial Services at least 4 times, who thinks that we still haven't returned our lease, and that we owe them hundreds of dollars for not returning it. Honda Financial Services even said that they've tried to contact Herb Chambers three times, but haven't been able to get through. Our sales person, Sean, even admitted to us back in May that he didn't return the lease properly (said he didn't know how...), but that he'd take care of it. As I speak, my wife is on the phone with Honda Financial Services still trying to resolve the issue. All in all, we've spent about 40 hours on this. If you're returning a leased Honda, or thinking about buying a new Honda, I'd strongly encourage you to go elsewhere in the Greater Boston area. We had two great experiences with the Honda Cambridge location, and wish we had stuck with them. read more

Sales is neither an art nor a skill - it's a tactical assault. If you're a delicate and nice person who believes in the basic decency of humanity - don't ever set foot in a dealership. You know that dealership in the commercials where the salesperson sits you and your spouce down, diligently helping you find the right deal at a fair price? Yeah, those places don't exist. However, if you have the fortitude to wheel and deal with the most abrasive and slippery salespeople Boston has to offer, I would absolutely recommend coming to this location as a great place to get a GREAT deal. These guys want to make a buck at any cost. Dont be arrogant with them or they will not work with you. Here are some tips to make sure that all they get is a buck. 1. Stand your ground, tell them to toss out the dozens of nonsense fees and absurd mathematical aerobics. 2. Don't draw the point of aggrivated conflict too early. Pleaslently persist in working your way to the finish line. Save the coup de gras for a final, big demand at the end and be ready either bust out the cash or walk out the door. 3. Everything is negotiable and they literally have a dozen layers of profit. When they say "theres absolutly no way, it can't be done, you can leave, were losing money!!" Ignore it and pleasantly affirm that you are there to make a deal and that fee won't work for you. You may need to temporarily shift the conversation. Or wait while they "talk to their manager" for the 15th time. 4. Target far lower than you expect is reasonable. Trust me, it's all profit for them. Resist their constant stream of claims that you are hitting some kind of baseline of the lowest they can go. 5. I will reiterate: Bring cash AND be ready to walk straight out the door over the last few hundred dollars discount. If you can muster this bipolarity, you have the most critical skill necessary to get a good deal. Always come prepared with cash to throw at them. This is the only way you can make that last big discount stick (even though they were apparently losing money 30 minutes earlier in the negotiation). If you only got 85% of the way to where you wanted: sign NOTHING and solicit another dealership to beat them out. I love Herb Chambers of Boston, and you can get a good deal here too. Just remember, it's your money and YOU determine how low THEY go. Don't let anyone push you into a corner. If you feel trapped and over your head, GET OUT. There are plenty of Herb Chambers' in the sea. read more

Never gonna go back again as I already gave them another chance hoping to get better service but turned out getting worse. I bought Honda fit from them in February, two week later there was a weird metal noise from the front passenger side so I had them check first time and they told me the wheels connected not fit well so they fixed it for me.. a week later that noise came back again so I go for second time after bought a car from them only 3 weeks. They said it s nothing they can figure where the noise coming from but the car is safe to drive, huh. I went to my husband's mechanic and he said it just the seat belt that not laying properly then the noise never bothered me ever. Last Saturday I made appointment for car check up and oil changed which should be free for first oil changed according to what the sale guy told me as a gift for trusting and buying a car from HC, turned out the guy at the front counter told me nothing in the system and the saleperson not working there anymore. I asked him that could he help me out like talking to someone or if I can talk to a saleperson or manager, he was talking back very low that they not helping you more than I could. So I decided to call the saleperson and suddenly the guy at front said, "Well, people should have listened to me more.." Disrespectful service person ever! Renewed my lease with Honda Herb Chambers and I wouldn't go anywhere else! The sales person who helped out was Wil Soto - he did a great job at explaining everything to me and helping me choose the right car! The finance manager - Lascelles Mckenzie was also a big help! I was choosing between getting another Civic or fully upgrading to an Accord. I chose the Accord and I LOVE IT! Pulled out the lot very excited. Process wasn't too long and very easy. Went back yesterday to the service side to get my updated registration and inspection sticker (I had to rush there after I got off work since I get off at 5) but they were able to get it done fast before they closed at 6. I really appreciate the service I received! I highly recommend this location! read more

Deeply disappointing experience. Quoted a car via email and confirmed it was in stock (Civic touring). Website showed they had 19 of these cars in various colors. After two hours at the dealership, they claimed that the car I was quoted was sold that morning and that they'd need to launch a search for the model I wanted at an additional cost of $46/month (i.e. $1656 over three years). Utter waste of time and highly unprofessional. Won't recommend to anyone read more

I went in for a simple oil change/ inspection in which I had to schedule an appointment ahead of time. I arrived on time for my appointment at 10am and wasn't greeted until about 30min past my appointment time. I was then told that it would take 1hr 30min for the service to be completed. Around 1pm someone finally came up to me to give an update about my car and told me that there will be an additional 1hr because they are backed up. If I have an appointment for 10am, how is it that they are backed up an extra hour??? If I knew that it would take over 2hrs for an oil change I would've just went somewhere else or at the very least gone home and then comeback. Things just seemed very disorganized and all over the place here. Very well could've been a bad first experience here but I dont think I'll be back here myself. read more

Mind you when we bought the car they told us we could pick it up several times before it was ready to be picked up. We lost out on work, and were given one price and paid another. My guess is - car sales training 101 at herb chambers Morrissey Blvd has the following teaching points: 1. Sweet talk until you sell/lease 2. Ignore client's follow ups calls cos you've already got their sign on the contract 3. Give out the most minimal amount of information possible. 4. Extremely unhelpful and unprofessional. Called in to see if they could help me out with my driver side seatbelt( stopped retracting out the blue) and asked if there would be any fees since seatbelts have a life time warranty barred any tampering on it/accidents, which I did not/have not had. Was told there would be a $130 diagnostic charge for JUST my seatbelt. Ridiculous. Called in other Honda dealerships around the area ( 4 more) and ALL said I could come in, they'd look at it and replace it if I hadn't messed with it at all for free. NOTHING about fees or diagnostic charges or bullshit explanations about why half the car has to be torn apart just to get to my seatbelt. No run-around nor long winded explanations. They all got straight to the point and said variations of " just come on it, we'll have quick look at it and get it replaced pronto". Called back this dealership, spoke to the supervisor who was a bit more helpful, and polite than the service rep but was still low key trying to get in the diagnostic charge in. After a couple minutes of talking to him he put me on hold so the service rep could put me down for an appointment. Not surprisingly, the service rep who at first answered before the phone even rang now had me on hold for about an hour. At the half hour point I just wanted to see how long she would have me on hold for. They hung up on me just a bit over an hour. Mind you, I called from another number while I was on hold to make sure they weren't just super busy as can be the case and the service rep lady picked up on the first ring. Remove this women from this position or entirely. Not knowledgeable at all and extremely inflexible. Unprofessional and makes your entire establishment look amateurish. I will not be going back to this dealership ever again. Look to the Cambridge dealership if you need an example of how to act and treat your customers. Update: Cambridge dealership replaced my seatbelt and looked at it for FREE as they said. Great customer service there and will be back for service there regularly. Again, avoid the Dorchestor dealership and stick to the surrounding ones. They gauge you for money and don't care about you if you're at odds with them. read more

I'm reviewing the sales department. Let me save you an entire afternoon folks. They do straight black-book value for your trade (low end) and tout no-haggle pricing. You're going to spend at least 2 hours at the dealership to get this information. Their used cars are over-priced by about $2-$3k compared to other Honda dealers in the area and they won't negotiate the price at all, so take that into account before you head in. All of the Honda dealers in this area use black book to value trades (no joke, I got the same exact trade-in value from 3 Honda dealerships) so you might as well just go to who has the best price on the car you want, which is not herb chambers. FYI there's also no kids area at the new location like there was at their old building. Hope this saves you some time and a headache. read more

Similar to a lot of these reviews I made an appointment for an oil change and tire rotation. When I dropped my car off at my scheduled time, they told me it would be a two hour wait. What's the point of making an appointment? They were so rude to me and I will be going elsewhere for service on my Honda. The employees are extremely unorganized and rude. If you "stagger" your employees due to Covid restrictions, then you need to restructure your appointments to match like all the other businesses do. I'll agree with previous poster... why can't I give no stars? Or at least, a tenth of a star? We went here, after many people said "don't go to Herb Chambers, you'll be sorry" including my sister who has intimidated each car salesman I've ever gone to BUT, it's right across the street and we did want a Honda. We'll just look. Of course, that's what I said about my last car, last apartment and wedding dress - all of which I had to have that day. The ONLY positive about my experience at Herb Chambers Honda is... my car turns on. I spent a good 5 hours buying our 2010 Honda Fit from their establishment. Most of that time I spent arguing about what price we would pay for the car. They kept telling us we "didn't actually want satellite radio" installed in the car. Big Love insists we do. They insist we don't and we never get a quote. FINALLY everything went through. We go home and say that we'll pick the car up (when one arrives) in a few days. The car is supposed to arrive... nope. Days and days go by. No arrival. FINALLY it arrives and we get a phone call form our genius salesman. We get excited, NEW CAR LETS DO IT!... nope again. We can't pick the car up until Wednesday because he has Tuesday off. But MAYBE he'll come in Thursday JUST FOR US. Arrival: Big Love and I inspect the car... wait... what's this? Scratches on the dashboard? On a brand new car??? Hmph. We mentioned this to our dealer who said it would be taken care of. We'll return to this later. I ask if I can take the car home... our brilliant dealer says "but of course". Not having grown up in Massachusetts I asked "even without plates???" again I'm told I will be fine. Flash to the next day. I return, red faced and teary eyed from having to wait 20 minutes, with a ticket from the City of Boston. I am told that they will OF COURSE take care of the ticket for me. They put my plates on the car. They don't have the correct screws or a plate holder or anything BUT... my sales person tells me he'll make it work. Our salesman keeps apologizing for all of the issues and I try my hardest to smile at him. We leave. We practically make love in the car as we're so excited to be away from Herb Chambers. We then receive a phone call from salesman of the year saying he cannot pay the parking ticket. Um. Hmph. Big Love calls back and says things I've never heard before (again, turned on in spite of Herb Chambers) and salesman extraordinaire says he'll see what he can do. We're driving around and realize that the license plate isn't flush against the car and rattles every time we're at a red light. We receive a voucher to get the scratch on the dashboard fixed at Herb Chambers Honda. Big Love and I decide we will never go back and we'll just live with the scratch. We get ANOTHER phone call 2 weeks later saying we needed to sign additional paperwork on the special coating we got on the car. Big Love, a very smart business man and all around patient and great person who rarely gets upset, refuses to go back and sign anything. He's done. Instead he makes grunting noises and an angry face whenever Herb Chambers is brought up (Again, turned on by Big Love in spite of being turned off by Herb Chambers) We buy a new car usually every 2-3 years. My family members buy cars as well. I will tell EVERYONE I have ever met, please never deal with Herb Chambers. Get a pap smear instead, I insist it will be much more pleasurable. Just don't do it. I got a new job that requires some travel, so I thought a car might be in order for this bus-rider. My husband and I currently lease a Civic the HCH Burlington, so I figured it would be easiest (and potentially cheapest) to stay in the family and go through HC again. Clicked onto their website last Thursday, saw some cars I liked, called and spoke to Lili who said the car I was most interested was still available. She set up an appointment for me to come in the next morning to take it for a test drive. Good so far. On my way to the dealership I get a phone call from Rory, the very nice gent Lili said I'd be meeting. He said that unfortunately the car I wanted was no longer available. Grrr, but ok. I decided it wouldn't hurt to still come by and see what else they had available. I get to the dealership a few minutes later, SCRAMBLE TO FIND QUARTERS FOR THE METER (Herb Chambers has more money than God and he can't buy out a couple of parking spots for customers?) and I head inside. Rory greets me, offers me coffee, and says that Will will be helping me today. Will, a nice Boston guy, greets me. He asks me why I want a used car, why not lease, and I say because I think that's all I can afford. He asks me what my budget is and I tell him I need to keep my payments under $200/month, which I know isn't a lot. He asks if I could do $200 if I really liked the car. I say sure, but $200 is my max. Then he asks if I could swing $225 if I LOVE the car, to which I say that there's no car I'm going to LOVE, I just need to get from point A to B. I also tell him that we currently lease a Civic through HC, hoping that might influence his wheeling and dealing. Not so much, because then he asks if I could do $225 plus taxes if I REALLY LOVED the car. Ugh, I'm a little annoyed already. I know this is the plight of a car salesman, but come on dude. Will explains why a lease would be better for me, and I wholeheartedly agree so long as it was within my budget. At this point I also say that I was making no deals, no guarantees, because I was really only out to LOOK and that I wanted to talk things over with my husband. Will says ok, that's fine, let's go test drive the '12 Civic. We go out to the parking lot not for customer use, he does a little spiel about how awesome the Civic is. He shows me the changes made from the '11 model to the '12 and they are noticeably good changes. Most of our convo during the drive is casual. He shows me how the new Evo button thing works, good stuff. I do like it. I knew I was going to. And he did a good job of explaining things and showing off the car. I never questioned whether I would like the car...the real question was the money. We head back in to run my credit. Will delivers the numbers of $225 plus tax. I wasn't surprised. We go through more paperwork, he asks me what color I'd like and he tracks one down that meets my non-gray, non-beige requirements, then asks when I could pick it up. At that point I put the breaks on again and remind him that this is not a done deal, and bring up the husband again. That bit definitely pulls the wind from his sails, but I tell him that in order to hold the one black Civic he was able to track down, that I'd be willing to put down a small deposit, but reiterated that this was not a deal. We walk to the front desk with my debit card, charge $287 on it (the would-be first month payment plus some fees), I gather my things from his desk and I tell him if we decide to go for it that we would be back the next day, Saturday. We respectfully shake hands, start walking toward the door, then he says "I have one more thing I need you to do. Ring the bell." There is a motherfucking cowbell attached to the wall. SERIOUSLY? I hadn't finalized anything and I'm being badgered to ring a bell? I ring it to appease him, but then the other sales guys get all amped and start drumming on their desktops for me to ring the bell again. I do, just to get the fuck out of there and I, the girl who will do karaoke stone cold sober, am mortified. The minute I get home I call a few other places. Toyota of Woburn says with my credit and downpayment, they can get me a new Corolla for $170/month. I go the next day, have a smooth and easy experience, finalize everything, and I didn't even have to ring a fucking bell. I call HCH and leave Will a message that I found another car for a much better rate and to please refund the deposit I made. A couple of hours later Will calls and all of the sudden this feels less like a business transaction and more like a breakup. He asks me if I'd signed anything yet and I said yes, he says he wishes I'd called him because he had a lot of room to work the price down. ORLY???? Why didn't he when I initially told him my budget? I kept it short and asked him to refund my card and he said it would go through Monday. It's now Thursday, I call to see if the refund was processed and guess what? IT WASN'T. Last words? The older I get, the more I realize how many useless and unintelligent creatures are running around, making life almost impossibly miserable for me. I am still so angry with Herb and his entire staff of idiots working at this place, I can barely type. I wish I had my own blood pressure monitor at home because I am sure it is through the roof. However, It did just make me feel much better to read through the five or so scathing reviews below mine. At least I am not alone. So here's the short version of my most recent experience with these bastards: Basically, I needed a minor part because my car was recently vandalized (AGAIN! WTF BOSTON?) and I was lied to, disrespected, and misled repeatedly, left standing at the Parts desk for approximately 15-20 minutes before the hooligan employee informed me that in fact my part was not there EVEN THOUGH I was told it was over the phone, 10 minutes prior. So naturally, I stormed out, announcing to the entire waiting area that, "This place is a nightmare and I am going to take my business elsewhere!" I will never step foot in there again, and hope you will not either. I am serious. I will lose all respect for you if you do. We will no longer be friends. My best friend wanted a Honda after driving my Civic (which I bought from Honda Cars of Boston in Everett, MA). He was promised a car at a certain price, after the sales rep ran his credit. He brought me along for the entire process, since I was fairly knowledgeable about the Civic. I can't go into details, because I don't know what the hell kind of shuffling this place did with my friend's numbers. I can assure you that it was sketchtastic. The car was promised at a specific price and at a specific monthly rate, but... Apparently Herb Chambers employs a gaggle of magicians, because right after my friend said, "'cool, I'll buy the car," the interest rate shot up into rape-me-in-the-ass-proportions, and the down payment wormed its way up a couple thousand bucks. When my friend bucked, the dealership had the nerve to question his credit rating, which they had checked before inflating prices. Then they tried to tell him that he was contractually obligated to buy the car, and that they were keeping his deposit. No. Not ok. He hadn't signed anything, and we made sure to double check that the deposit was refundable. The best part? They had the nerve to act confused when we said, "hells no." Yeah, I'm sure these car salesmen were polishing their halos in confusion. We checked, and it turns out that what they did to my friend (a bait and switch) is illegal. He doesn't have the time or the energy to escalate the situation, and he found a car via a different dealer. This place is crooked enough to make me growl, mash my teeth, and wish something really, really itchy on the staff. I urge you to read my other reviews to see that I'm not psycho - I just honestly feel this strongly about this sorry excuse of a car dealership. I'm normally pretty fair minded about this stuff. After 3 years of coming here for service since I bought my Honda Civic here, I have decided I will never come back here again. #1) Wait times are ridiculous. OIl change = 3 hours. #2) Prices are ridiculous. And outrageous. And not helpful. Example: I left for 2 months and when i came back my battery must have died because my radio locked up with "code". so I went to the dealer to see if they could find me the code. 3 hours later, they said "$200 to take the dash apart for the code". Guess what I did? Apparently, Honda has a website for you to look up your radio code using your Vin #. Cost? FREE. Are you fucking joking me? #3) Shady as hell service people. Example: About 8 months ago this guy (Doug, avoid Doug at all costs, he's a fucking sleazy salesguy), tells me the last mechanic who did my oil change stripped my oil pan, so i need a new one (cost $400). I calmly informed him, hey dude you guys did my oil change...soooo yeah. He comes back an hour later and says "oh sorry about that, i made a mistake, its all good now." I asked "what about the oil pan?" he said "oh we fixed it". Okay.... Fast forward to 3 months ago. Oil change. 3 hours later Doug (again) "hey the last guys who did your oil change screwed it up, so you need a new oil pan, its pretty much wrecked". My response "you guys did the last oil change". 1 hour later "oh we fixed it, i told the mechanic to be more careful, so we rethreaded it". Goddamn. Are you seriously joking me? The service center here only cares about making money, screwing you over, and making you wait forever. And now what am i gonna do? I'm going to get EVERY SINGLE OIL CHANGE HERE, because I'm sure as hell not paying for a new oil pan that THEY fucked up. read more

I bought a Honda Element from this dealer. The car was a good deal and I've been happy with it, but next time I buy a car it won't be from this dealership. Was told the paperwork was in the car, and wasn't. I had a car without any paperwork saying I owned it. When I picked up the car, they wouldn't give me a second key and said I had to pay $130. Car was suppose to be certified and it couldn't pass inspection because the battery couldn't get a charge. Had to take it in for a service call right away and when I said I was upset, the service person got short with me. I had to go into the showroom and make a scene with persepctive customers to get proper attention. I found this a good time to make an issue about getting a second key. At least I go one. I had to deal with the inspection and get reimbursed. Got a flat tire and couldn't change it because they never gave me the special key to the lug nut lock which I didn't even know it needed. Had to get the car towed to the dealership and take an unexpected morning off from work. Sent manager a letter about my issues with no response. I have had my car serviced for regular maintenance and in fairness, I have found that part of the business to be efficient and professional. read more
